That drawer beneath the desk is a retractable shelf for a PC keyboard. It's built that way so one can have a free space on the desk just pushing the keyboard shelf under it. That is the most common design for student desks from the 90's to 2000's. Nice video, helpful. Congrats!

Do the IKEA drawers/fridge and microwave cover up the heater? Pictures online show heater is under window.

There are drawers beneath the vanity and also a desk storage drawers that can be moved around the room. In the video it is shown under the bed.
