Who's tried Hojicha before? 🍵
Have you tried Genmaicha? It's literally like Hojicha with added roasted rice dry bits in it, so when you steep it, it's really toasty. I don't know if I've had Hojicha but you can use Genmaicha for ochazuke (green tea made with water, poured into the leftover rice after dinner, I THINK including some crispy rice bits), so I'm sure you can use Hojicha for ochazuke. Just don't hate me if it comes out badly. :P
For sure in my top 3 teas!
I have tried it and i LOVE it ! I have to say I will always love matcha a little bit more but it’s a close second 💗
Is there a good source for me to order hojicha tea in ground form online?
can you make bread with that flavor?
I like your “ooo that’s yummy” dance lol
A few years ago, my brother brought me to this cafe that specializes in Japanese desserts and I fell in love with houjicha (I love it more than matcha). The cafe made desserts with it like mochi donuts, mochi brownies and other mochi desserts. I miss it!
I love Hojicha, I tried it last year and it's such a lovely tea. I love the 'roasted, toasty' aroma, and I enjoy how it doesn't have as much of a bite to it compared to my normal sencha. I haven't had it in a powder form though, so I'm excited to try it! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hojicha bread? ooo it would probably go great with like whipped cream and strawberry. Like a sando? But i've had hojicha ice cream and it is really nutty with that like upper note of bitter tea
Hojicha bread sounds soo good 😩
Wow I love how you didn’t even tell us what hojicha was.
For anyone wondering: Hojicha is a Japanese green tea that is distinctive from other green teas because it’s actually roasted instead of steamed. Not only that, it’s specifically roasted inside a porcelain pot and over charcoal :)
It’s roasted at a specific temperature to prevent oxidisation, I think 150 degrees celsius but I have to double check! It’s absolutely delicious and is one of my favourite teas
Thank you. I'm going to look for it. ✌🏼💖
Never seen it in a powder form! How’s it compare to the brewed loose-leaf version?
Usually with powdered teas they’re much stronger than their loose leaf varieties, especially in caffeine/nutrient content. This is because powdered teas are made of the entire leaf being ground down and then consuming the whole leaf rather than relying on the water to draw out the flavors and nutrients via a 4-5 minute steep. Hope this explains it well enough! I’ve never tried this tea in either form but I know this is common to most other teas so I’m sure the same applies.
I've had this today for the first time ever from the milk and boba/bubnble tea specialist chain in my city and I absolutely *loved* it! 😍 on par with something made from ground up black sesame like icecream... I love those nutty, earthy, rich, warm flavours! Only thing is that I should have ordered it with 75% sugar or maybe even less instead of full regular 100% serving of sugar because it was very sweet!
I love hojicha, there's one in bottled version that I like to drink a lot during the summer
Definitely gotta try this 😭
Only just discovered this. The tencha variety is the best for sure. Kind of resembles a burned caramel/toffee taste. Extremely tasty and low caffiene for the evening. Very easy on digestion, great mood boost. Overall a great addition to life
Hojicha is my absolute favorite! Definitely my tea of choice
Hojicha is delicious!!
i like both but i prefer matcha over hojicha
I love Hojicha but I like matcha too! I love hojicha ice cream!!
I love both matcha and hojicha 😻
Tea....🤤. I would love to try that tea.
I made macarons yesterday. You should make some! I've heard of matcha macarons..........
Personally I don't like matcha that much but I've never tried hojicha before
Matcha macaroons are actually really good in my opinion
i LOVE hojicha! Probably my favorite drink along with genmaicha
that looks like something i'd love! i adore toasted flavours
I just bought a bag today b/c of this video. The flavor is a lot more mellow than regular green tea and has the slightest hint of cocoa. I really like it.
try making smoothies, with your teas, absolutely delicious refreshing and lite! 😋😋😋
I loveeee hojicha! I like it straight, no milk or sugar. I had it first in high school and it's still one of my favorite drinks
Am open to trying it soon
That looks awesome
Off topic, your eyebrows look so good!
I've only tried hojicha kitkats and I love them!
the cookies are so good! creamy and almost coffee like but without the bittersweet taste
I wish that I could get the same excitement and seratonian boost off of something as simple as food/drinks like Jeanell does!
I love hojicha so much. I like it more than green tea too
I love them both I have matcha in the morning and hojicha in the Evening it’s really tasty and almost no caffeine in the hojicha
Worked in a boba store called The Alley, hojicha tastes pretty good! We also had the powdered version, very strong but we mix a good amount of sugar in it to counteract the bitterness and bring out the flavour. Roasty toasty tea is def underrated xD
i absolutely love watching your vids. Can you please share your workout routine with us. Love yaa
I wanna try this!
I love this tea. I use it as a whole leave and mix in other herbs and fruit.
I personally prefer genmaicha. The roasted rice makes a nice flavor profile. I might have had a bad batch of hojicha, but it tasted like sea water to me. I’ll try it again if it’s like a high end blend or something
Never had it powdered, but I love steeped hojicha tea ☕️ yum!
Brows look great!!
i recommend storing ur tea in an opaque container since light can degrade the tea
I'm with you! Since I found about Hojicha and I don't like matcha it's that too sweet
I've only tried the loose leaf version of houjicha, I've never had the powdered form! Want to try that! I like matcha more but houjicha is a close second 💕
You should try Genmaicha! It's got pieces of toasted rice in the actual tea bag, it's roasty toasty but very light :)
I love watching your videos . They make my day . Thank you ♥︎
@Jeanelleats You could make a boba tea w any choice of milk & one-two drops of Almond extract. If not that than maybe vanilla or coconut? W a touch of the sweetener of your choice.
You really have a great taste, Jeaenelle!! Blend that powder to melted white chocolate and let it cook. You’ll get the best Hojicha chocolate. Way better than matcha chocolate.
MAKE A HOJICHA BREAD ITS GONNA BE SO DELICIOUS add the powder with flour it will be so good
Try it s as the new thing to powder over desserts 🥰🥰🥰
Never heard of this, so thank you!!!
Hojicha is my favorite hot tea. I get it in losses leaf. Have not tried it in powder.
you should try baking with it!
Make hojicha pandesal!!
I would probably try to make a cake with it. Looks really good definitely putting it on my list.
I need this. I used to buy the best hojicha I've ever had in powder back when I lived in Australia but had no luck where I'm living now 😭
I've tried hojicha ice cream before, and I don't really like matcha in general so the flavor was a bit strong for me, but if you're a fan, you should try it!
You should try les bouchées mauves their ube desserts are amazing
Haha the name !
Ooh, add some to a cake recipe!
This is my fave! 💗
You can make Hojicha sorbet or Hojicha ice cream
i love hojicha also have trouble finding it in stores :( can you link us to where you purchased? i trust your judgement more ♥️
Never heard of it, how is the taste when drinking pure?
Try hojicha with hazelnut mylk and a shot of espresso or splash of cold brew !
Im living for ur brows
Idk how the flavor tastes but maybe a hojicha flavored ice cream? I've tried green tea and red bean flavors. Both good!
Try it with you crepes please. Big fan here😍
Might want to keep it in its bag. A lot of things are in opaque bags because they react or lose flavor when exposed to sunlight.
my fav way having hojicha is put some evaporated milk in it.
Well, I prefer loose leaf but that looks delicious.
Breaddddd! 😂 u have to try it wit breaddd. 😋😍
I lovee hojicha but I’ve only had bagged versions
love it but never had the powdered kind
Plesse make cake or icecreamm :)♡
"what else can i make with this?"
Me: ummm bread?
“Coffee/tea” cake
@@monetarriel True but she is known for making bread and eating them for me at least
@@shoonlaeht4731 true lol very true ☺️
This is the first time I’ve ever seen her actually narrating lol
Muffins! Or donuts 😋
I always want to try hojicha but it always out of stock😩 I'll definitely try this when the hojicha is in stock!
Try makin a hojicha pudding!
Looks tasty!
I wish I could be able to try this perhaps! And hopefully I’d love it!
Frappe Hojicha✨
maybe you can make hojicha flavored bread or desserts?
I love hojicha, but I love matcha more
Where'd you get your cup? I like it!
Does hojicha only taste better cuz it's roasted or maybe the plant used also has smth to do with it? I wonder how it compares to roasted matcha
i want it
Ok ok I’m really not trying to be rude, but the way she said “roasty toasty tea” was kinda funny 🤣
Love ur vids Janelle 💕
Love hojicha! That roasted rice flavor is perfect and nutty. Matcha tends to taste like fish oil to me so I stay away from it.
Where is your glass from? Love your content:)
houjicha brown butter banana bread🤩🤩
Hojicha is mouthwateringly delicious but it makes me super hungry for no reason after I drink it 😩
Bread with it
Can't get a hold of either :D
Your skinnn 😩😩😩😩
Try pancakes? I don’t know how that would turn out! 👌
Maybe you shouldn't put it in a glass container , if it comes in an aluminum package probably means that it can't be receiving sunlight
The color reminds me of this certain type of henna (forgot what it’s called).
I prefer earthy tones than toasty flavour notes when drinking tea. I just don't like to have thoughts of steak when drinking tea.
Crème brûle. Trust and believe it will change your life!
Could you make tea cakes?
It comes in powdered form?!
Do hochija flavored everything just like they make matcha cookies and cakes and things
Ice cream,milkshake,ice coffee,
