@@egyptianplayers1 lamp replacements aren't an issue provided you only buy the full price official/OEM lamp. The problem with lamps is the heat they produce - your room quickly becomes extremely hot, unless it's freezing outside. NB: Suggesting a £3.5k projector instead of a £1k one isn't helpful.

With the black levels not being the greatest do you recommend getting a grey screen to help out there? I’m stuck trying to find an appropriate screen to pair with this projector.
Couple it with a grey screen and you will be good to go. I have a 0.8 gain screen and blacks look great on my Optoma UHZ65LV. This projector is 3000 ANSI lumens so it will not suffer from -ve gain screens, but HDR may look a bit darker. I have some samples for the screen and projector on my channel.

There is only 1 gaming projector on the market that has hdmi 2.1 and that’s the Epson Pro Cinema 4K Pro-UHD LS12000 but you have to shell out $5,000 plus to get your future proof projector.
@@deadstick100 Thanks for the reply. Yeah I figured it would be pretty expensive. Hopefully as HDMI 2.1 becomes more common on projectors that cost will start to come down. 4K is getting cheaper too so fingers crossed.
So would you justify the 500$ difference between the BenQ TK700STi and BeQX3000i? I'm unsure on which one to get... This would be for a gaming / home theater room (Dark room with black walls).
The Black Levels on this Projector are Outstanding. The problem with reviewers is they actually spend very little time with the Projector before they make their reviews. In fact most Reviewers just Parrot what they have heard other reviewers say which makes me doubt they even did their own review, they stole other people's reviews. If you take the time to get into the advanced settings you can adjust the Projector to get Outstanding Black Levels. Also for the best contrast and Black Levels you need to use a high quality Grey ALR Screen. Get a Diamond Black ALR Screen and try and tell me that this Projector has bad Black Levels.
So Chris, which would you recommend for gaming and/or overall performance between the epson ls500 and this? Thank you for your time. You do an amazing job with what you do.
Two different monsters, USP are in another category, I have the LS500 and setup was more like a tv replacement, this one seems like a good option if you have a dedicated space for it
I would say if you have a living room, get an UST as it is more suitable aesthetically. Also Epson LS500 is brighter at 4000 ANSI lumens. Both projectors have not so good blacks though. So get a grey screen to improve blacks and contrast and you will be good to go.
Make a video on DACs and Headphone amplifiers. They are getting popular as more and more streaming services are offering high resolution music. You need a DAC for anything high resolution. What do you think?
Hey Chris. Great video, thanks! How does this one compare to the Optoma UHD55? It would be great if you could make a video of a comparison between these two since there's no comparison anywhere. Haven't been able to decide which one to purchase 😅
Hi Chris. Great channel. One QQ about the audio output. In your video you mentioned a toslink output port but the image on the back of the unit says S/PDIF. I have an older receiver without an HDMI port. It was an expensive receiver/amp with enough power to drive 7.1 surround speakers. So I’m not in a rush to replace it if I can make it work with a new projector. Can I use the optical output of this Projector or would the digital audio output be limited to 5.1 audio?

Hi Chris, How will the new upcoming Epson LS11000 stack up against the widely reviewed Epson UB5050 ? I am wondering if I should still go for UB5050 or get the newer laser projector. Thanks.

Hi Chris, I am not sure if you will read this but just in case. I Have an old W1080ST+ Benq projector that I want to change for a 4K one, I know HDR is not perfect on mid range projectors (less than 2000$) and Black levels are not perfect, however I have been waiting for so long for a Shor Throw to replace mine that I am thinking about buying this or the TK700STi, however most reviews, as it should, focus on the gaming performance, in my case is 80% movies 20% gaming. I am looking for a projector to be used outdoors in a covered lanai that gets partial sun. Can you do a video or at least give me your top 3 for that situation?
Get grey screen because DLP 0.47 DMD chips suffer from poor native contrast and black levels. I have LG HU70LA which uses a 0.47 DLP chip. The greyscreen improved its blacks but because it had only 1500 ANSI lumens, picture on dark scenes look very dark. On the other hand, on my 5000 ANSI lumens Optoma UHZ65LV, picture look stellar (samples on my channel). So, at 3000 Lumens, this projector will give great picture when coupled with grey screen. Hope that helps.
I'm going with the white mounted, 1.0 gain, 120" silver ticket from Amazon. I'm not bothered by shallow blacks, and I don't want the colors to be held back at all. I did strongly consider going gray... Stay tuned!
I'm having a real hard time picking this or an Epson 5050UB. The 5050UB is really outside of my budget, but it's specs are so tempting. Just not sure if the difference between the two for both movies and games would be worth the extra cost.

@Madonna Moya I have its bigger brother Optoma UHZ65LV and it is fantastic. UHZ50 will be a very good option for gaming and movies. UHD50X is not laser. If you hate lamp replacements like me, then get the laser version.
@@goatlps Heat generation, noise level, need to warm up and hence longer boot times than laser/LED projectors. Shorter life span and hassle of replacement plus in some areas getting the compatible lamp could be hard. I didn't suggest UHZ65LV which is expensive, I suggested UHZ50 which is more expensive at around 2800$ but no lamp replacement which is a big plus.
Hi Chris, Have you tried pairing with a grey screen to improve the blacks? :)
The new projectors from BenQ are going to have Netflix available (info from CES). Will the streaming sticks from the X3000i be flashable to the new OS to get Netflix?
Chris you didnt mention the bizarre amount of Rainbow Effect on X3000İ, thats the reason why i eleminated that one even the specs were almost perfect for my gaming setup, maybe you didnt notice that Rainbow Effect. Its noticable even in android menu and COD, 03:37 and 05:46
Hey Chris, great video, I liked the short format!
What I'm missing is: what's the big difference to the BenQ x1300i? They seem almost identical, yet the x1300i is $750 cheaper. Do you think the 4led is worth the higher price or am I missing something here?
X1300i is 1080p only
I was refreshing whole youtube for reviews for this projector while having it on shopping list. FINALY lets watch it and decide.
Any plans on doing a review of the Epson LS12000B?
I am curious as well. I am looking at the LS12000B as a future upgrade. Just patiently waiting for some trusted reviewers to give their opinions.
It's coming.
@@ChrisMajestic Great! I'm looking forward to this review as well. I'm leaning towards the LS12000 for the improved black level. Would love to hear if you think the upgrade is worth paying $5000 for it vs the $2200 for the BenQ x3000i. 50% gaming/50% movies on white 1.0 gain screen.
@@SafetyGlad I’m in the same boat as you and keen to hear Chris’ take on the two. I’m looking at the LS11000 as the LS12000 is not yet for sale in the Netherlands where I live
I appreciate your reviews BUT any review of a projector that does not include fan noise metrics/ subjective experience of noise at a 1m distance is pretty useless -- that fan noise kills all comfort. Could you please say something about fan noise of this projector? Does it have different modes for fan noise? How much dB comes out of it at 1m distance? Thanks.
Great video! Thanks!
I'm not gonna lie, I shook my fingers and said "WOOOOO!" when you said 100 inch from 8 feet away. 😂 Looks really awesome and I know you're having fun with it. I love your channel man, you have a great voice and explain everything so well. It's destiny for you to do this. And yes, I do like the shorter video format.
Is that good or bad?
With the black levels not being the greatest do you recommend getting a grey screen to help out there? I’m stuck trying to find an appropriate screen to pair with this projector.
Couple it with a grey screen and you will be good to go. I have a 0.8 gain screen and blacks look great on my Optoma UHZ65LV. This projector is 3000 ANSI lumens so it will not suffer from -ve gain screens, but HDR may look a bit darker. I have some samples for the screen and projector on my channel.
@@egyptianplayers1 I’ll give them a look, thanks.
welcome
How does the picture quality for movies compare to the Epson 5050?
Im curious how this compares to the TK850. I feel like it is worthy of a match up!
Great video!!
Is this still the king or the new xgmi horizon ultra that just came out is? Chris you are doing such a great job and I can’t wait for you to compare these two gaming projectors. Am stuck on which one to choose
@Chris Majestic, Hi Chris, great video, how does it compare to the lghu70ls?. which you've previously reviewed?.
Thanks for the great informative content
Hello, great video,as always.Would you mind expanding your repertoire to turn tables. I really want to get one for my classic records. Sound quality and connectivity info is highly needed. Thanks!
What about the 3D and the performance you get with 3D when gaming? I don’t know if games after 7th Gen support 3D. VR seems to be the big thing now.
Would love to know, too. I still play games in 3d from time to time on my PS3.
The PS4 does 3D movies games are t advertised if they do or not.
I miss passive oled 3dtvs! Because active shutter 3d hurts my eyes. And passive 3d on a projector is very expensive to set up.
With that price, I don't know why the micro USB wasn't built into the projector. Just another think to do before using it.
Chris, could you possibly do a video on how to setup passive 3d for a projector? I need so instruction on that.
Hey Chris, I’m trying to decide between the benq ht2050a or the epson hc 2250 which would you recommend?
Hey Chris. Watched lots of your videos bit just subbed. Can you do a video or talk about special multi projector applications? I'm wanting to see if there are any short throw or long throw units that I can turn the projector sideways to run 3 projectors at 16.9 and match them up on the screen threw my PC. Wanting to try and get 12k on a 20 foot by 10 foot screen for a golf simulator. Any input would be amazing
Would love to see a review of the Epson Pro Cinema LS12000. Especially for gaming as it has 4K 120hz capabilities.
Great video man, I always enjoy your content. Is it common practice at this price point to only get HDMI 2.0 instead of 2.1? I want a gaming projector but I want to future proof as much as possible. Any projector come to mind that would be close in price but also have HDMI 2.1? Thanks and have an awesome day!
Can you possibly get a review of the Dangbei Mars Pro?
Which game are you playing at 5:45 ? Please someone tell the name.
What about the newly released UHD35STx? Short throw version. 3600 lumens and 1,000,000 contrast. Lamp maybe the week point.
Make a video on DACs and Headphone amplifiers. They are getting popular as more and more streaming services are offering high resolution music. You need a DAC for anything high resolution. What do you think?
Can someone tell me at 5:13 what game is playing? Its a car game. Sorry Im not a gamer but it looks fantastic!
Forza horizon 4 or 5 I’m pretty sure
Just subscribed thank you. I was almost set on the epson eh-tw7100 before seeing this. Have you tried the epson to compare?
Count me excited for this one
Hi Chris have you seen the new AWOL projector and give us your opinion please
I would love to see a review of the Optoma UHD38
Hey Chris. Your videos are always filled with information that helps me take a better decision. You should get the AWOL Vision LTV 3500 the daytime viewing is amazing on a 100” screen. Please review the AWOL projector.
could it be a successor to my ht3550? or should i wait for a next benq model
I personally have had a terrible time with the HT3550. Have already had 2 warranty returns and am working on a third.
Am debating if I want to replace with another HT3550 or swap to the X3000i
Hey Chris and everyone else. Would you recommend the Epson 9400 series as an all rounder. It’s at a higher budget and I’ve been told is pretty much the best before jumping to laser. I want to know if it’s very good for gaming? Thanks
Please recommend reasonably priced screen for that UK
Hi Chris,
How will the new upcoming Epson LS11000 stack up against the widely reviewed Epson UB5050 ? I am wondering if I should still go for UB5050 or get the newer laser projector. Thanks.
Well, one is £3000 and one's £4000. How good is your eyesight? It'd probably need to be better than 20/20 vision, like an eagle, or something. Spend the £1k on snacks.
Shorter videos 💯 Thank you!!!
Hey Chris, thanks for you videos :)
Will there be review for the Nebula and the XGIMI horizon pro?
The horizon pro is coming. I’ve been trying to squeeze the nebula in for a while.
Nice looking forward to it.
Have a nice day!
Will these projectors even thou they are for gaming give me a better movie experience than my W1080ST or is it not worth it?
Thanks
Good question. I have the W2000 und also wonder if the new one would be better. I fear that the black level might be equally bad.
@@sputzelein Yeah that is my point are the black the same? better? worst? be he never answer the subs, I have asked many many question he never never answers
Can you review the nebula 4k projector
excellent video.
between the Optoma UHD38 and the Epson EH-TW700, which one would you choose?
Hi Chris, Is LED better then laser? can you replace the lamp? Also can you talk about how much brightness this 4led system loses overtime over the years vs other systems? such as convential projector vs laser vs led etc etc. :)
Hey which projection would you prefer the hinsense px1 pro or the Hisense L9G . I’m using a motorized ceiling screen. It will be going in my living room with moderate lighting. I just don’t know which one to purchase I don’t want to get ? Do you have any thoughts on which is a better projector
Chris, can a fire stick be placed into the slit instead of the android stick?
probably but you'd like be better of using one of the ports on the back of the unit.
I am looking for a projector to be used outdoors in a covered lanai that gets partial sun. Can you do a video or at least give me your top 3 for that situation?
Hey Chris can you compare this x3000i with the viewsonic x10-4ke?
Hey Chris what screen would you recommend to pair with this projector?
Stay tuned!
Hi Chris, is the movie experience way better on the HT3550?
A fire tv stick max probably can be used instead of the stick provided by benq, right. ?
I'm having a real hard time picking this or an Epson 5050UB. The 5050UB is really outside of my budget, but it's specs are so tempting. Just not sure if the difference between the two for both movies and games would be worth the extra cost.
What do you think of the lghu810p
Do you have to use the third hdmi port for the stick, or can you leave that cover off and potentially just use that hdmi for something else?
so when it comes to keystone or portability it can‘t hold up with the xgimi horizon pro or the new nebula cosmos 4k
thanks for video. how about this vs LG or Samsung Laser projector.. ?
What is the throw distance of this projector? Thanks
Can you use a new firestick instead of the one it comes with?
Chris, when are you going to review the Epson ls12000? The true best gaming projector out.
Hi Chris. I have a optoma uhd51a. Do you think it will have a drastically better picture quality if I upgraded to benq x3000i?
What abouat the new XGimi Horizon Ultra? X3000i still beat that one?
Have you tried pairing with a grey screen to improve the blacks?
Hey Chris! Can you compare it against the TK700sti?
i seen Kodi in that list,if you introduce usb media with videos in the usb projector,it will see it?
Hello!) Please tell me which screen did you use during the test? And will the black ALT screen improve the quality? Thanks.
Do you think It it better than
Optoma GT1090HDR? i want to use a projector as a replacement for pc monitor and for xbox gaming, i use the pc mainly for 2d animation and codding too.
Also is Optoma GT1090HDR sold in USA dual voltage like BenQ X1300i and X3000i?
