The Valentine's day video! (OK, so I missed the actual day but this took FOREVER to upload!) I play one of the all-time greatest games, Just Cause 2. It's basically all the greatest action films mushed into a blob of car chases, fast jets and explosions. What's not to like!?

This game is a good example of how atmopshere and colors can make a game beautiful. Imo the graphics still hold up after all this time, it even looks better than some new games even though the graphics are wayy less advanced
yep - lotta games nowadays are losing atmosphere, design and focus all in pursuit of 'good graphics'.
high fidelity does not mean high beauty, just like a perfect 4K photo of a person's face is still... just a person's face.
it lacks substance to give it meaning.

I just bought the game, still fun as all hell to play.
I just got jc3, also fun as hell to play!
just started playing after beating jc3 and air land sea expansion 3 times loving the jetpack wingsuit. jc2 takes some adjusting but is still awesome once you adjust
so far my only issue. dome chaos items are too well hidden
Dude I still remember watching this gem of a video as an 11 year old. One of the most memorable videos I’ve watched, up there with NerdCubed modded GTA IV videos. Time really flies.
Man do I ever miss being a kid watching nerdcubed. Use to sit in the workshop of my grandparents house watching his videos for hours on end on the scrappy little computer when I was like 8.

In terms of actual gameplay this is miles ahead of GTA IMO, flawed story but the amount of craziness/map size/explosions is just epic

So much nostalgia! From the audio in the background, the microphone, to the keyboard you use either in this video or in later ones. I remember watching these videos of you playing these classic games when I didn't even have a system and staying up all night watching you play them, only to realize the sun was rising. Good times. Some of my favorites were Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, Mirrors Edge, and a lot of 360 games.
When I finally got a console I built it's library of games off of so many that I saw in your videos. Driver, Just Cause 2, etc. Thanks man!

People say that the missions are boring but, strongholds aside, they are pretty fun. One of them gave me a bike, C4 and an SMG, and told me to go blow up some Saturday morning cartoon villains base. Tell, does that NOT sound like fun to you?

Am I only person who think quicktime events are good? Within reason, though. I think it is good to have quicktime events in a situation where you are pulling someone who is hostile out of a vehicle, as they are ready to resist. It just adds more challenge. When pulling someone out of a vehicle there isn't much way you can apply gameplay there, so it is useful to use quicktime events. Of course, it would not be good to use quicktime events when pulling a neutral out of a vehicle, as that person would not be ready for it and has not been trained in military.

for some reason, i've taken over a few airports, but there are still jets taking off. i'm not complaining :D
I believe this is because the bug only occurs with the military airports, not the other airports.

Lol I like how he clearly never played Skyrim that much, like 1/4 of the map is snow covered, everthing around whiterun, solitude, and winterhold southwards becomes trees and rocky valleys and swamplands.
"It isn't like skyrim where it's all just snow a grey" What? Skyrim has way more than snow and grey, it has a wilderness for a majority of the centre, a rocky woodland area, woodsy areas, marshes and giant mountains. Sure theres alot of snow but theres also more environments.

bought just cause 3 on cyber monday for three canadian dollars and forty four canadian cents, had to watch all of dans just cause videos to keep my excitement [barley] at bay while waiting 7 or so hours for it to download!
this is by far one of my personal favourite nerd cubed videos, I still remember when this video came out and just thinking "oh fuck yeah, hes going to L O V E this goddamn game, SO MUCH!!!" lmao
I remember when i'd found the JC2 demo on xbox market place, must've played that stupid demo at least a hundred times.
then I bought it for PC when this vid had came out and reminded me of its existence, I've got around 14-20 hours of playtime on JC2 for PC and I think I've done maybe like 10 or 12 missions, the rest of those 12 or so hours I spent as child running around getting into huge action movie shootouts, stealing jets, heli's and military boats just wreaking havoc and mayhem all across the map for hours at a time...
Just Cause 2 on console, for me at least, was much *much much more of the same, to this day idk how anyone beats any of the just cause games. i'll start off wanting to progress through the story and after maybe an hour, two hours, I finally realize ive spent the last 80 minutes wing suit grappling around, hijacking planes and helicopters out of the sky. blowing up oil rigs, et cetera et cetera.... xD*
the just cause games are literally some of if not in the top 5 of the *best* video game franchise(s) ever created.
still to this day, JC2 is one of the best looking games ever created and is still just as fun today as it was in 2010 or 2011, forget when it was released. 3 is my all-time favourite, *havent played 4 and have intentionally, even a year later, not watched a single video of gameplay from 4, I refuse to. want the experience to be totally new to me.*
& I NEVER do that with any games, Just Cause is just one of those games!
I digress; highly recommend that if there's anyone watching this who hasnt play 2 and is on the fence about buying it, stop procrastinating, buy the game for 10$ on steam and thank me later.
eight years later its still just as amazing of an experience as it was on launch, its actually even better because the multiplayer mod has been included with you purchase of the game itself since like late 2012-2013.
just an FYI, no longer do you have to fumble around with looking for an aids-free link of the mod to download, fumble around with to get working properly, et cetera, its included and (in the words of todd howard himself but this time its not meme'ing its stating factoids) *it just WORKS!*

V cool game - highly underrated - almost never see it listed in those top game lists - if you are thinking of getting a FUN game and are not looking for a deep story/rpg game but want fun - ie lots of explosions and cool vehicles then get it...
