Ghost notes - You only have to make 1 bar of the reference, widen the track back to reveal bar 0, move the ref track to 0, and use the loop function of your reference.
That makes the ghost notes more transparent and not changeable.
There was another RUclips I can't find that shows how to make it behave like Abelton. With proper ghost notes for the scale. Click the show-only notes used collapse button next to the region automate button. Now the only notes shown and editable are notes in the scale. The piano now also shows all note names.
With the update of Logic Pro Record to Midi function I've written a Scriptor function to build any scale notes in the reference track, making the process faster and easier.
I'll probably post it somewhere for download.
Makes it much easier to deal with anyany scale for those who create or edit much in the piano roll.

Great idea! I totally didn't think about loop regions not being editable!

Dude bought LP at 11. Was confused about the lack of rearranging channel strip. Called APPLE support and homeboy at Logic support was floored you couldn’t move the channel strip!!!

1- change the volume of multiple midi notes by dragging whith pencil tool in piano roll… I used to do exponential crescendos and decrecsendos in Sonar 15 years ago but in LPX it’s a nightmare.
2- aux-bus bounce in place. Sonar used to do that again, over 15 years ago. Plus, there was a bus virtual waveform option!!!
    3- ARA compatibility.
-- plugsearch is a plugin that does what it’s name indicates in LPX

You don't have to number the folder in the plugin menu. You can make a folder and drag it where you want, up and down according to your own system.

I feel you on that. Stereo to mono conversion is the most illogical part of Logic.

I think logic is embracing AI in the wrong way. Automated mastering (is ok), session musicians (I use the drummer, but can’t imagine using the bass player or keyboard player for much).
How about AI that guesses what plugins I want to use? Or that eliminates pickup noise? Or that allows me to talk to the DAW instead of having to put down my instrument and start clicking? Why not have the AI act as a helpful recording engineer? Imagine being about to say “Logic, new vocal track” and then, in word, describe how you want it to sound “heavy compression, a little bit of analog overdrive, a reverb that is ducks the original vocal”. Then I can say “more compression, and boost the mid range”.
The goal should be to almost eliminate any need for someone to touch a keyboard or mouse. They can just play and record and stay purely in that zone.

Great ideas! I do think voice recognition would be a huge plus for musicians recording themselves.

There’s a lot I would like to be added and fixed.
    - Better detailed higher res waveforms and make them black
    - see grid lines through waveform regions
    - better and faster browser
    - plugin search with filters
    - rearrangeable channel strip mixer from the mix window
    - rename-able sends and buses without having to go into I/O labels
    - color sends, buses and output to match the color of the fader strip in the mixer.
    - make the mixer with the two channel strips to the left near the inspector scrollable so the region and track inspector isn’t blocking the view of inserts and sends.
    - make the mixer view scrollable for everything but the faders so they always remain in sight.
    - better audio engine so when I record vocals the 2 track instrumental sound doesn’t cut in and out for about a second or two every time I start or stop record.
    - make gain tool audio adjustments in real time. At the moment u have to let go of the mouse and wait to hear the adjustment.
    - autosave - unlimited undo even after closing project

yeah this are the same things i was going to list! browser being so slow is insane. takes like 2 bars to hear something sometimes on the first downbeat. grid lines shine through is a dream of mine. the only thing i would add is automation shapes and an automation shape/skew/transform tool like in ableton and s1.

I need a proper dark mood. Can’t pay $70 for LP colorizer for something Apple can actually implement, Final cut has it, so logic can too. Then moving tracks on the mixer would be nice. I don’t make instrumentals in logic(Ableton for creating the beats/sound design….., logic for recording, mixing and mastering) that being said, loop punch in would be great!!!
The piano roll overhaul doesn’t move me but would be nice for the community. Plugin search too, very important…. Nice video btw🫡

Most of us know about the additional ways to get to plug-ins faster using logic pro, but no matter what you do it’s not as easy as a hitting command F and typing the first two letters of the plug and then pressing enter like you can in Ableton and many other DAW’s. I use most of the big DAW’s but I was late to the party on FL studio. Once you get used to that piano roll using any other piano roll is so much slower. Another thing logic is missing is macros like in some other DAW’s like Studio one and Cubase.

There’s a Top Level section in the Plugin Menu. These sit at the very top and it isn’t enclosed in a folder. I use the Top Level for my Favorites, I then have separate folders for different categories (EQ, Compressor, etc).

I love Logic Audio and there isn’t anything I wish I could do that I can’t already do…..maybe that’s because I started with reel to reel bouncing tracks with sound on sound with a cheap mixer back in 1977. I could only have dreamed of having what I can do in Logic then. Believe me guys…modern DAWs are amazing and if you’ve only ever made music with a DAW you are lucky…..though I have to say the way I started A. Makes me appreciate what I have now and B. I probably think differently when recording. A lot of these issues are really just nit picking.

Great perspective! I think we all should count ourselves lucky that every DAW is amazingly powerful and gives us all the tools we need to make music effectively.

Wait logic doesn't have plugin search?! oof. I rarely use it these days, but it is really incredible for many workflows. That being said i DO like the plugin manager in logic pro so you can sort plugins how you want, but it takes a lot of time while pro tools is more helpful and automatically sorts for you and does a great job with it!
the ghost notes thing is pretty cool. though pro tools allows you only to edit one instrument at a time i think, but can display a few at once.
the stereo thing isn't that bad. you'll have to select mono on it i think.
the one thing i want in logic is significant editing updates. editing is beyond awful in logic. pro tools is at the top imo, but cubase and reaper both do it great in logic it's just a pain. logic excels greatly in midi and synths though.
