Chris thank you so much for this video and all of the others on your channel. The advice and tuition you've imparted for Logic has been beyond superb. Hearing your story and your commitment to helping others is seriously admirable. You deserve more followers, but I hope the numbers don't deter you from making videos and teaching us more ways to use Logic and showing more of what can be done. Areas that would be great to see more content on include: 1. how to set-up a song In logic to give it the best chance of sounding good on different devices e.g. tv, phone, car speakers...plus headphones vs speakers 2. linked to (1) how to get a mix / mastered song to be representative at *low *medium *high volumes ( what I mean by this is sometimes all the sounds and instruments are balanced and come through in the right amounts at your preferred mixing and listening volume, however when you turn it up or down substantially certain instruments and sounds get lost and others dominate. Is there a way to make it more consistent? 3. Recommendations on how and when to choose the different equaliser plugins and compressors within logic (both on individual channel, master and buses). 4. Music you like, artist / producer tricks and techniques you've seen others do that you really enjoy and sound good. 5. What can Ableton and Pro Tools do that Logic can't and is there a workaround / free plugins etc? Many apologies if you've already done videos covering these topics...all the very best to you for 2025 :)
I just started fiddling with Logic Pro and wrote a String Quartet using the stock instruments. I can't call it a work of genius, but it was fun to do, sounds good to my tin ear, and now I'm totally hooked on Logic. I have to learn this beast.
Subscribed. I've tried and used all the DAWs, and Logic Pro has been by far the one I like the best. There's things it can't do, but the combination of low cost of ownership, ease of use, and power are hard to beat.
Super Enjoyable video always a pleasure to learn from your experience, you have a born nature gift to explain, wishing you the best, best regards from México City to Sunny Ca.
Best thing i like about logic is the most supported DAW out there by audio companies. They would always develop their plugins with logic pro first, and pro tools last.
Hi Chris - fyi: I’m really enjoying your mixing course … I’ve learned a ton and am only halfway through it! In 2025, I hope to see you delve into the ATMOS functionality within Logic.
Awesome! Thanks so much for being a member of the course and I am glad you are enjoying it so far! That’s a great idea I really need to dive into that feature as it’s not something I’ve really played around with yet.
I spent a little over a year deciding between Logic and Cubase. (Used ProTools in the late 90's at my university, but it was almost unusable back then. Crashed all the time, so I soured on it pretty quickly.) Watched a ton of videos and in-depth tutorials. Lots of why-so-and-so-chose-this-DAW-over-that-DAW and top-DAW's-in-[insert year here] content. Read blog posts, consumer reports, and anything I could find. Decided on Cubase. I think it's just the better DAW, and it's optimized for the new MacMini's, which inexplicably don't use all the cores when running Logic. But I understand why people use Logic. It's a great program with a huge user base.
I respect that! I do wish Apple would fix that issue and let Logic use the performance cores I really don’t get that at all. But at the end of the day it’s all about what inspires you to make music!
Enjoy your break Chris, merry Xmas and a joyous new year. Would love to hear any information about how to use automation, expression, velocity, etc to help midi instruments sound more realistic 🤓🙏
I teach Pro Tools at a local college, but I USE Logic. In the end, all these daws are pretty much all the same. If you are experienced, it eventually comes down to aesthetics and work flow. Walked into my first session as a hired guitarist in November of 1976! lol. I watch tons of content in order to stay relevant, and you are one of the few I trust. Good work.

Logic does have a good track record with third party plugins for sure. Only one or two I wish would better optimize for Logic
