What an uplifting, empowering half hour that was! Also, I've had toxic work environments. And I decided I needed to quit and find something more healthy. Every time I listen to Ellen I feel impressed by her as a person.
@zephyra Nice! It's always reassuring that you made the right decision when you look back and see things like that. This conversation is INCREDIBLE. Two business women. Two BOSSES. Two talented, creative, powerhouses. And they're both listening to each other and understanding. WOW.
Ellen and Taraji definitely had one of the best conversations I've watched.
Ellen Pompeo is drop dead gorgeous... Love her 😍😍 49 and still got it ❤❤
Ifkr! 😍🤩
Facts
What an articulate and inspiring conversation ❤️
I really wish Ellen would get the emmy she deserves already! Love her and Taraji
I thought Ellen and Shonda were close. Couldn't she go to her and want better story lines. Ellen is so poised and intelligent. Love this honest talk between two actresses! Both look amazing!!!! 💕
They are close. She was talking about that in the beginning. She did say the culture changed when the two of them got together to make changes such as bringing in Debbie Allen.
LOVE these two incredibly strong, smart, & beautiful women breaking ground and paving the way!
I don't know much about Grey's Anatomy but I've never thought for a second Patrick Dempsey was THE lead. To be quite honest, everytime I'd watch it for a few minutes, it was always Dr Bailey on screen, kicking the interns asses or whatever lol it took me years to randomly find out who was named Grey on that show.
😂😂😂
Lol yes he was a main character for like 10/11 seasons
What a great interview! I personally haven't watched Grey's Anatomy or Empire, but thoroughly enjoyed their conversation and insight. Two women from different backgrounds genuinely listening and supporting each other.
Omg Ellen just hit the nail on the head when she mentioned how producers lure actors with a great role ... it’s the same in any industry... I’ve recently had a major change in my work place and new people have been hired at the same position as I being paid way more than I do, despite me proving that I can do the role better and then not performing at all.
Wow! This was incredible to watch. Both are inspiring and wonderful women. I think that Ellen being married to a man of color really opened her eyes to the issues people of color face. I’m glad she realizes those issues. She’s not afraid to talk about how caucasians have a leg up majority (basically all of the time) of the time. She clearly can understand how Taraji May feel in certain situations. Women supporting women! 👏
Let's talk about Ellen's outfit? Can I have it? That's all!
Love both of you gorgeous women!
This is the first episode where I was engrossed from start to finish and never stopped watching. Love these two!
These two and this conversation...PHENOMENAL 🙌🏿🙌🏿 First time seeing one of these Actor on Actor videos and I love the concept
This conversation is so moving and I am loving how authentic and honest each woman is speaking. I love them so much and to see them as people and not playing their characters is so moving. Brava
this talk is so open minded and so real. they are not just beautiful, they know what they’re talking about.
Yass ladies. I want them to Do a project together
28:35 YASSS JLO REPRESENT. LATINOS!
Chrissy Lyn That would be awesome!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Chrissy Lyn omg yassss!! I’d love to see the colab together!! I’d pay good money to see that for sure !!!! Ellen and cookie get it going lol
Taraji should’ve been getting recognized which is crazy. I’m glad Ellen acknowledges that.
It’s so inspirational watching interviews like this one when two women are talking about their job, the industry and all the obstacles they have to pass to arrive where they are right now. So thank you for inspire the next generation
Thank you for this Variety!!!
This was an amazing talk!!! It’s so refreshing to get an open and honest conversation about the economy and politics of Hollywood from the perspective of a black and white woman. Everyone should listen to this talk!
2 of my favorite actresses!! I absolutely love that Ellen is so open minded and stands up for people of color too... and doesn’t try to act like she knows what they’ve been through she genuinely tries to understand... and tarji is just REMARKABLE in all she does! Just love them!
Ellen is invited to the BBQ. . . She's gets it
She's got a Black husband and 3 black kids, yes she definitely gets it. Love her!
I’ve always like her
I’m been waiting for these two my queens ❤️❤️❤️❤️
What an uplifting, empowering half hour that was! Also, I've had toxic work environments. And I decided I needed to quit and find something more healthy. It didn't dawn on me to try to tackle the issue head-on and CHANGE the environment. That would be a huge undertaking! And it's also a huge accomplishment. Every time I listen to Ellen I feel impressed by her as a person.
@zephyra Nice! It's always reassuring that you made the right decision when you look back and see things like that. The studio I left started telling us, "We can't afford your paychecks this week, but we'll totally pay you next week!" That was my last straw. After I quit I found out they went SIX WEEKS without paying the employees!
This was beautiful. Ellen is my queen and Taraji is such a delight!!!
Why are there not more views on this video?! It's so insightful and lovely to watch!
I liked the conversation that Taraji had with Ryan Reynolds for this same series. They were both great too.
Seeing people talk about 500K like it’s nothing and I’m just here like “give me half and my family is uplifted”😭
They pay higher taxes brackets, managers, lawyers, agents and publicists take a cut, you need security and a glam team. It's an expensive life.
Think of it like this, someone complaining about making $25an hour instead of $30 an hour. If they are worth the $30 then they should get the $30 point blank period. It doesn’t matter that they can survive with the $25 an hour
This was one of the best most honest conversations I've heard in a long time. It flowed so perfectly. Both listening to each other, not talking over each other. Well done ladies. Well done :)
I'm honestly in love with Ellen Pompeo. Like, oh man. Be still, my heart. And Taraji is gorgeous!
This conversation is EVERYTHING! If we all, could speak like this and understand everyone's track what a wonderful world it will be. Ms. Pompeo, you are the fabulous aroma of a garden. Thank You
The fact that both these women started at 26 gives me so much hope
All though she said she started 26 taraji was in the acting business since 15 she mentioned in a video with rayan (they de movie )and her on ACTORS on ACTORS
I’ve learnt so much from this conversation, two powerful beautiful having a respectful and much needed conversation 💜💜💜
Now. I could watch and listen to these two ladies 5 days a week. It would be a fabulous talk show. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Ellen for just being yourself and sharing your light on one of my darkest days just by saying I hear you and I see you
Two outstanding women
Amazing actresses
Always filled with positivity
Speaking up whenever they feel is right
Ellen has a beautiful soul..
SS M yes, she does ❤️
I love to hear actors talk about money. The business part of showBUSINESS is the really interesting part for me.
Being an actress /actor is amazing... And we thank you. 😊😊😊😊😊❤️❤️
There’s that Massachusetts realness coming out of Ellen Pompeo! She is so authentic and honest. She listens to Taraji and they have a great cohesive dialogue. Love them both as actors and people in general! 🌟❤️
Taraji P. Henson has never made $5 Million for a film. Let that sink in ladies and gentlemen smh
thetriplethreat3 ??
I can see Ellen having her own talk show. I would watch.
She has a podcast called Tell me with Ellen mpopeo Candice
Loved this. Respect, love and admire these two so much. I remember both of them as guest stars on shows Taraji on Sister Sister and Ellen on Friends.
Can some one please put these two women in a movie or show together. Loved this convo.
I love Ellen Pompeo and what she stands for. I love the way she changed her work environment from toxic to a good work environment.
They are both 49!!! I have no words 🤯🤯
