    Couple of more tips for the EDFs. Since these have ORX Flight Stabilizer installed, switch to Training Mode. Almost any less than perfect launch will be corrected. Once flying switch to Stabilized Mode. One other tip is to use a neck strap. I don't normally use a neck strap but find that using one when hand launching gives me a much more stable transmitter process. I can use my left hand to power up and then launch with my right. After launch I don't have to semi-panic to get my right hand back on the TX... it's stable around my neck and all is calm... ish.

    I also want to add that launching in safe mode makes the take off really nice.Safe really helped me when it came to launching my V900.

    For some weird reason this just popped up on my feed, but I'll take it! Great to see you being yourself Stu, although the bark at the end is a bit odd...might want to get that checked 😉😆! But seriously, I've been hand-launching (aka "Hand Tossing" 🤣) for years, and I really don't know why folks are so afraid to do it. There's some really great flying models out there that are belly landers, and although not everyone has a field compatible with these types of planes, they ought to try them out anyway as they fly so stinking good! Great job on the video Stu, and you might have convinced me to finally get the Lucky Gallon! I'm not much of a Corsair guy, but MAN does that plane look good in that retro Reno Racer scheme. Just sexy. So is the F-16, BTW. Heck, might have to get the Corsair, F-16, and the F-18! Cheers brother!

    May have been said before -- but setting a stabilized receiver to "self level mode" biased to about 20 degrees up angle makes hand launching racers a breeze.

      Nice additional tip, thanks for sharing.

      If you bias the pitch in Self Level Mode to 20 degrees up, how do you then switch to regular gyro flight mode with the pitch bias to 0 degrees up? Can you use a separate switch for the elevator?

    Great advice buddy‼️ both of these are great flying planes and so much fun, HOBBYKING is giving us some great planes 👊🏼👊🏼

    Obviously I needed this! I'm awesome when I have gear, but apparently I suck hand launching! (F-18 Lol) Thanks for the lesson Stuart!

    When you hit the throttle does it feel like it's pulling itself out of your hand before you throw it?

  • @rchelibyvladz9943
    @rchelibyvladz9943 2 года назад

    One potential issue with hand launching, the throttle cut switch could be in the way of your hand while you are putting it back on the TX.....

    • @belperflyer7419
      @belperflyer7419 Год назад

      One way of avoiding that is to use a rotary switch for throttle cut/isolation as on my Frsky Horus

    Good info. Thanks.
    How do you get the prop to stop so that it doesn't get broken on the landings?

    • @stuartwarnerc
      @stuartwarnerc 2 года назад

      Hi Bill, you can set a 'break' on the most ESC via programming, but even then chances are there will still be enough airflow over the prop to turn it a little, so there is a certain amount of luck even when using the 'break' setting. These birds did not have break set, so in this case I tend to stop the motor about a foot from the ground and if its pointing down i just give the throttle another little blip and hope that gets it to a more vertical position.

    Hello, I have one last question...for a hand launch of the mini delta Wing which gyro mode (Nx3) is the most suitable? The rate mode or the hold mode?
    Thanks again

      for a hand throw what is the best gyro mode (Nx3)? The rate mode or the hold mode?

    Thanks for the video though you only touched on the low-hanging fruit and were hands-off when it comes to launching a pusher-prop wing. I'd like to see part two of this series describe how to always, safely, hand launch an Eflite Opterra 2.1m.

    • @r.scottpage2840
      @r.scottpage2840 2 года назад

      Pusher prop wings are best (IMO) launched with wingtip discus style. Like you say -- that would need an additional video.

      Thanks, however we won't be doing a video on how to launch the competitions product any time soon ;)

      I think the subtlety of my comment was overlooked. “This is a safe way to hand launch an EFlite Opterra 2m model.”… said no person, ever.

    Hey Stuart. What’s happening with shipping to UK? Has it been resolved yet?

      From Hong Kong warehouse there are cheaper shipping options now.

    Most people are right handed. I'm not sure you should be suggesting people launch with their left hand. I'm guessing Stuart is left handed?

  • @inedesca3973

    Sorry to disagree, but you are competely wrong.
    What I do is hold firmly the model by the tail with right hand, now I use the transmiter under the belly of the mmodel as a suport and cast the model as a spear pushing from the tail. To aid on this I glued a stirp of soft rubber on the right side of the transmitter where the model will rest so it wont slip. done this for a long time without any mishaps, This gives the model high speed and can launch it upwads.
