Just drove a 1,9 tdi 200km. About 185km on highway and 15km urban... Computer in the car claimed 4,0l / 100km consumption for that part. :D
100hp engine can also be fun to drive. It's all about the driver.

Asi úplně nemá smysl měřit akceleraci dieselu, ale jako zajímavost dobrý. 😀 Na běžný ježdění pro člověka, co nějak jízdní vlastnosti neřeší je to dobrý auto.

I have a 2015 Octavia diesel as a summer car in greece..I live in NYC USA..diesel engines last forever! All the taxi in Greece are Skoda Diesel! 600,000KM no problem! Also diesel fuel cost is 40% less! A win win win!🤗👍👌😜

@@dragospahontu well yes it is reliable kinda if you do maintenance on time. I got the same one but 2005 octavia it’s driven 170k KMs and still great. I made a POV on it you would like to watch
@@dragospahontu salut. Am 335 000 km pe ea si o duce foarte bine. Daca o intretii cum trebuie si la timp, motorul nu prea are ce sa pateasca. In mare parte au fost consumabile ( dar modelul din clip e euro 4 si are filtru de particule, ceea ce poate implica probleme periodice cu egr-ul )

I have a question about this Škoda. Everyone says Skoda's are comfortable and stuff but my dad's Škoda, compared to his old '01 VW Passat 1.9TDI is very stiff. It's sports car stiff compared to the Passat. Low profile tires on both cars, 15 inch steelies... The Škoda he has rn is literally the same as on the video except for the year. It's a 2008 Škoda. Yet very stiff af. Why?

@@dragospahontu my mk5 with bkc engine have 260.000km(probably a lot more), I also had passat b5 with AJM engine code sold it with 400k kms zero problems, car is still driving with zero problem

I'm 28 years old and I've finally started with my driver's license and I'm looking for a real car... something more "mature", preferably a station wagon with a lot of space and the video really made me think about the Skoda Octavia 2 1.9 TDI.
It is a car you'll dump a lot of money. Get a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic if you want something fun.

@@dragospahontu final serie of 1.9 tdi 77kw is the most relaible 1.9 tdi because all errors have been removed. Only normal regular maintance and xou are good to go.

I had one pre facelift with the 1,9 TDI, what a loud engine when I compare it to my 1,6 TDI facelift.
And the 1,6 TDI consumes less diesel than the old one despite it has a DPF because of Euro 5.
Above 3000 rpm the 1,9 TDI did not feel really good at All.
Honest question. Is it really ok for the car to be driven at such high RMPs, for such long periods of time?
I wouldn’t recommend it, sometimes it’s good to give it some revs, but not often
@@matthewsmith2787 why not? I've driven on multiple cars like this for years. Besides fuel consumption, haven't had an issue. Not to mention the egr valves that thank you

I think that's the ASV (Anti Shudder Valve). A valve that closes to shut off the air intake so the engine shuts down quickly. Otherwise with a diesel they continue to run and can chug to a stop.
It should be the other way... That valve closes for smoother stop of diesel engine so technically it shuts down slower.
