The fact that these vans are able drive into Malaysia are an achievement in itself. As u can see, their license plates start with G not the usual S for Singapore cars. This identifies them as a commercial vehicle and U are not able to drive a Singapore commercial vehicle into Malaysia without a permit issued by JPJ. U must have a company or business in Malaysia in order to get this permit so it's not easy to obtain. U are also supposed to paste the 70km/h sticker on the back of the van. That is the speed limit for commercial vehicles in Singapore, as well as have a speed warning device in the van that will beep non stop if U go over 70km/h. Looks like these SG N-van owners have removed those 70km/h stickers and most likely the speed warning device too 😂. These are the main cons of registering as a G plate commercial vehicle in Singapore. The main pros are cheaper COE and road tax which can be quite a substantial amount.

Interesting, thanks for sharing this! Just how big is the difference in COE pricing between private and commercial registration?

Driving a Suzuki Every Turbo in SG. Love every drive from it! Great business runabout and occasional use for family business too! We bid in Cat C COE which is 25% cheaper. And have a speed limit of 70kph.
