Hydraulic top link installation took about 15 minutes total. Top link is about 9" stroke. Same set up for New Holland Boomer tractor up to 55 horsepower. Will leav the link to all parts very easy installation

First I was impressed by the lack of profanity when you bashed your hand when removing the top link pin. Then I saw your son in the vid, and figured that was the reason for it, and was even more impressed. Good daddy!!!

Well, it wasn't pretty, but you got the job done! Thx! Here are a couple of other things to "consider": 1) Unless you're in
the landscaping business or the like and can justify the expense, and
unless you already have a valve and connections free on your tractor,
you are going to spend upwards of $600 for an install if you do it
yourself. 2) Unless you have a hydraulic shop nearby (I actually got
everything made up at my local Carquest Auto parts), you're in for a
world of hurt trying to find hoses, connections, cylinder, valve, etc.
TSC was no help and didn't have all the parts on hand and the local
Massey Ferguson dealer could only provide specific parts and only by
ordering them. Bottom line, yeah, if you're a landscaper or contractor
then go for it. If all you're doing is grading a 50' driveway, the cost
and headaches don't justify the install IMO.
The kid has skills, first try with a new device on the top link? Well done, I don't even get the left right alignment right first time. I've got the 3140, bit smaller than yours and want to grade my yard with the same box blade, I'm thinking this hydro top cylinder is gonna save me a lot time

I know nothing about hydraulics, but why isn't pipe dope needed on the threads into the top link?

The threads are usually bsp, they are a slightly tapered thread, pipe dope is usually unnecessary for hydraulics and can actually cause problems if you manage to get any in your system. Sure you've got hydro filters but what if that pipe dope gets caught in a check valve on the way to the filter? People use that stuff too much, usually when it isn't needed.
