When I've noticed that moment after a yawn. It always seems to be in a setting where there is little stress input, or concern. It's as if, yawning is a mechanism to assist in calming. Perhaps the deep breath, or theory I had heard, where yawning stretches certain muscles in the neck, that at the same time, helps to lower blood pressure.
NikoQ2 once but just because i was thinking so much of it and havent jawn today so i decide to went for it :) this fake jawns just doesnt work for me and its easy to stop/not jawn when someone already started ''the chain''.its all in your mind, mind is everything try using it. you can start and prevent things by simply using mind and be aware 100% all the time. i noticed as a child if i wanted to jawn i did if i didnt wanted i havent so simple.
I remember for my one of my science projects I tried to see what would stimulate yawning on a person, and in terms of contagious yawning, hearing and seeing the word yawn wasn't the only factor that can cause contagious yawning. A lot of people yawn to simply hearing the WORD yawn, and others react to stuff the associate with yawning! It was really cool and I got a good grade!
I always thought it was meant to make groups of humans feel tired at the same time, and therefore go to sleep and wake up at similar times, allowing for more efficient functioning as a group, since yawning makes you feel tired, or at least it does for me.
My theory is that we as humans are a social species, so specifically in the ancient times before clocks were invented, people had to time their sleeping patterns in order to work efficiently together as a community. Therefore, when one yawns, it is a sign that they are tired and the message is passed along in reflex to the people around them, signaling everyone to get rest.

I think it might be a social thing, like dogs or cats who move their tails in different ways to communicate things to others, we humans might yawn when we get sleepy specifically to induce sleepiness on humans of our group, which would also explain why it isn't as effective on strangers
I find myself mimicking people's facial expression, and postures, and habits a lot. It kind of wierds me out sometimes that suddenly I'm swaying or looking at my feet as some of my friends do.
