I'm looking into pursuing this as an avenue to take in my career as I'm still very early on is there anything anyone can suggest that might help me build up and prepare?
As a former member if your packet was denied the Regiment possibly didn’t need your MOS or somewhere in your application you didn’t meet what they look for.

Look how much focus is put on green platoon now that theres no war. My green platoon felt like a hodgepodge compared to this. Maybe its all for the TV

No, any rank can apply for regiment, you just have to make it thru Green platoon after being accepted.
There are two different versions. One is egp which is “ enlisted” green platoon. The other is Ogp. Officer version
