Ps there might be other skaters in the future that will break Yuzurus records, but all I have to say is his skating is what caught my eye. His personality, manners, courage to challenge himself, his finest details that he perfects, and his pure love for the ice is what kept my heart ❤️ Yuzuru Hanyu is one not once is a generation kind of athlete, he is once in a millennium kind of presence. He deserves all the respect and love that he has EARNED. Thank you for redefining figure skating.

@@mrl6956 OK. I keep my fingers crossed that he will succeed in the competition as well. But just because we see one video where Ilia jumped 4A, doesn't mean it, that he jumps 4A steadily. And do you know why I say it? My granddaughter is a child figure skater and I go to see her training. He learns to jump double jumps, except for 2A (he doesn't jump 2A on ice yet). And the other double jumps she is already jumping, but she has problematic 2LZ. Yes, sometimes she manages to jump clean 2LZ, but mostly she falls out of it. So it takes time and she won't it jump in the competition yet. Although 2LZ sometimes she jumps in training and we can take video about it. However, this does not mean that we can say that she jumps 2LZ.
Other example is Sasha Trusova. In training, I saw her jump 3A many times, even several times in a row. However, clean 3A she has never jumped in the competition.
So in the end, I wish Ilia that he will succeed with 4A in the competition as well, but for now I take him as I take my granddaughter (2LZ) and Sasha Trusova (3A). So, when someone manages to jump something into training, it doesn't mean it's jumping steadily and in the competition.

Yuzuru hanyu is the first to complete the quad axel jump. It happened in December of 2021 there’s videos of it everywhere. There’s honestly no need for comparison. Yuruzu Hanyu IS the GOAT. He doesn’t have a competitor. If I need to say one, that would be himself. Nobody skates like him. So beautifully and clean. So many world records that were broken by him. And for the past 66 years, no body has gotten the Olympic gold two times in a year! And honestly if he didn’t challenge himself into the quad axel and if he didn’t sprain his ankle attempting the jumps, no doubt, he would’ve earned his third Olympic Gold this year. No body has the courage like Yuzuru does. He jumped that quad axel with no hesitation. He put the gold metal at risk to become the first in history and guess what. Yuzuru Hanyu made history. The FIRST Quad Axel to get certified. His quad excel got certified by ISU during the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

He's worked so hard ( you probably know he has pretty bad asthma which makes everything He's accomplished so much more amazing)! And you're also right that he is the first certified quad axel (AMAZING! I watched it live!)! I'm just talking about a ratified quad axel.
I was so sad when I heard he got hurt again. I wish him an easy recovery and I hope he never gets hurt again. His bravery, his artistry, his dedication to this sport is something we will always be grateful for. He's pushed the sport so much. Thank you for taking the time to comment

@@jmoneil13 It says quad Axel comparison and analysis.... Hanyu fans are going to be pussy hurt that somebody else did the quad Axel before Hanyu.... One point everybody seems to be overlooking is that when Hanyu rose to prominence, the men were doing pretty much just quad toe. Hanyu elevated the sport to adding the quad Salchow as well as being the first man to do the quad loop. In addition to being the GOAT and the icon that is Hanyu, he has elevated the sport to having beautiful and artistic transitions into and out of the big jumps instead of the old fashioned way where everybody said, " Uh-oh... Here comes the big jump...." Hanyu also was able to elevate his skills to also be able to s the quad Lutz(one of the best ever when he could hit it...). All these technical and artistic achievements combined with his charisma and aura arguably makes Hanyu the most iconic figure skater/rock star ever. Not to mention all the world record scores he got along the way.... Hanyu is getting older and it's amazing he has been able to achieve so much due to his love of the sport throughout all of his injuries. We all love and applaud him for all of this and more... Now enter Ilia Malinin who has textbook quad Lutz, toe, Salchow, loop and now Quad Axel.... Enter Malinin who can do quad toe/quad toe, quad toe/quad loop and quad toe Euler quad Salchow... Enter Ilia Malinin who can do a CLEAN quad Axel that looks as easy as a triple Axel... There has to be somebody to whom Hanyu can pass the torch. It might as well be a phenom lIke Ilia Malinin..... Somebody who can fill the void after Hanyu retires..... Somebody who can elevate the sport of figure skating to maybe 145-150 point short program scores and 275+ point free skate scores.... Who knows??? Who is to say that he can't do that? Why shouldn't we all enjoy watching him try???? I am just excited that there is somebody after Hanyu and Chen who can unleash the most mind blowing content that we could never have imagined a few years ago.... I remember Plushenko talking about one day he would like to be able to do quad toe/triple loop combo because it is so much harder to do the triple loop after the quad toe instead of a triple toe.... Then Malinin comes along and just does quad toe/quad loop combo and lands over his right side like a GOD... Quadg0d.... I can't wait to see how Malinin can integrate all of these things into his up coming programs... It will be a thrill to watch... If Hanyu continues to skate, it will be a blessing to watch. If he retires, Malinin will take it from there...

Statements like this are why everyone hates fanyus. Do y'all really need to stretch the truth THAT MUCH? No, he isn't the first to complete the quad axel, because he's never landed one. And if he doesn't have competitors, why hasn't he won a major title in years? Why didn't he medal at the Olympics? Why do you people have to constantly diminish other skaters? The truth is, Yuzuru's time ended in 2018. He has been surpassed in competitions and now Ilia is landing his dream jump instead of him. Just accept it, there are skaters in the world who do some things better than he does.
Btw, there's no such thing as "certified". It's just sth fanyus made up to make themselves feel better about his unsuccessful attempt.
Like... love him to your heart's content, but for the love of god, stop making shit up and stop downplaying other skaters' achievements.

Compared to llia's three attempts where the first only has a step-out and within a few days, the second one is near clean and after a few days, the third one is clean, not to mention how his landing is so much stable than Hanyu. llia will definitely land first, especially when he progresses so fast that it took him only a short time to train and he is landing 4A everyday now. And one more thing: did someone write "if Ilia can jump a perfect 4A, shouldn't he focus on another skills" ?

Ilia just landed a quad axel almost perfectly! It was a little shaky on the landing, but fully rotated and landed on one foot!

@ouch-pepporFanyus are stupid unicorns who don't understand anything about jump technique. It's impossible to perform an Axel without a 1/4 prerotation. And Ilya just prerotates 1/4. And if you compare him with Hanyu, his prerotation is greater, plus a large UR and overall poor jump technique and weak physical characteristics.

Theres zero comparison...Ilia hits it clean more often than Hanyu does...I've seen NUMEROUS clips of Ilia hitting it perfectly, and the one championship show where he DID hit it clean in international competition..but I've yet to see footage of Hanyu landing it perfectly...ilia is the epitome of GOLD MEDAL PERFORMANCE

  • @thatweirdval6265

honestly i think both are still underrotated :/ if you pause the video and draw a line through the skate, the landing should be on the same line but to the opposite side (or within a quarter rotation of that). It seems to me that Ilia's 4A is q, and hanyu's is

Yuzu can't do a quad axel. Even Keegan Messing has done a better attempt in practice. And Ilia had a clean 4A in practice less than a week after this one.

@Prologue Oh, i understand now. Yuzuru has more fans than any other skater. So you're correct, no other skater has that. And it's very nice that you are one of his fans.
As for artistry, Jason Brown has more and is a better spinner. Patrick Chan had better artistry and edges by far. As for jumps, other skaters have much more difficulty.

both jumps are wrong, this is ice figure skating, where is the speed? the landing both horrible not flow, THIS IS NOT GYMNASTICS, it have to have the same speed at the take off and the landing, first triple axel was landing on 1952 yes 70 years ago ???????????

  • @bryanthomas1495

You can’t even call the Japanese skaters jump a quad axel because half a rotation is done on the ice with the free leg touching down. It’s ridiculous to compare the both of them.
