lol baking that bread was a lot harder than putting it over the fire, after like 10 minutes it started burning on the bottom, so I took it off the fire then buried the dutch oven in hot coals and let it sit for 1.5 hours, I just want to let you know so you don't put your bread over a hot fire. Would recommend the hot coal baking method though that worked really well!

Hi Isabel, the no dig method of gardening will reduce the amount of work you guys have to do every growing season. The Elliott Homestead switched to this method last year and it made a huge difference for them. They’re from Washington State also, just something to think about. Adding wood chips to the pathways will also reduce the weeds growing in that part of the garden. I’m on the third year of adding wood chips to my garden and have practically no weeds. Love your videos and inspiration. ❤️🌼🌸🌺

I love the beauty the nature of both her scenic little place she calls home as well as own her self she loves her life and all she’s done for it at such a young age I am finding myself drawn in to her videos more n more at my age 56 what I would do to be able to live this way through my younger years to right now so happy relaxed and stress free and with a man just as much like her and she’s got him and her family next to her so she’s always safe.
In one of your postings, you said you were in your early 20s. I am in my early 70s. When I was your age I had just ended my military tour and having been in a war I just wanted to be away from the human race and its silliness. It was a very tumultuous time.I end up in a commune in the Northern California coastal. They had a farm and grew veggies and had an orchard and not far away, (about a mile) was the forest of the Giant Redwoods. I would do my assigned chores and then go wander in the woods surrounded by giant trees and listen to the breezes singing through the branches. It was there I found my healing from the horrors of the war and found peace.I share this with you because when I see you running through the fields or climbing the mountainsides and calling out to the wilderness, it brings back fond memories of a time fondly remembered and treasured.
I really enjoy watching you cook. Your bread always look so good and it just seems that everything comes out nice. It reminds me of Little House on the Prairie the way they had to cook over a fire and yet here you are in modern times doing things like our ancestors would. I admire you so much for that. I am in my 60"s so seeing you bring back those wonderful times really warms my heart. Great video. God bless

Not in the like “ooh you’re so lucky/not me” way….As in….You and I must have a lot in common since this is the life you’ve created so beautifully (even in struggle) and I’m at the beginning of creating my version of this dream life. this year spring in the PNW has been SO weirdly cold i feel. we aren't gonna be home enough this summer to have a big garden like we normally do, but i'm honestly happy about it because of how late the season is already getting. it's still too cold to plant most of the things we would have in april! so when you were talking about the freeze i was praying for your plants! i'm sure it's even chillier in the mountains where you are

We had wild asparagus growing near my house too. Was fun to harvest each year in early spring! Great video--keep up the good work!
Asparagus are worth the wait, aren't they? I noticed that Isabel was eating the bottom of the wild asparagus she was picking and wondered if she cut the lower tough woody part off, would they be more tasty and tender like my home grown variety. Love them baked, or any which way!

As a 49 year old man who only began rethinking that value system in the last ten years, thank you for sharing pieces of your life with the world. Your uploads are artful and beautiful and help remind some of us about the big picture.
I think one of the greatest things that has stuck out to me while watching this content is, the progression and elevation of the film production. From 3 years ago, to how things are shot and look now, has been a true progression and elevation. The quality has gotten better and "bigger" in a sense. And obviously there's no right or wrong way to do it, natural...POV, doc-style, organic, less is more, etc... But recently, things have just been looking amazing. Well thought out shots and setups, all weaved together in a strategic way to tell a STORY. Amazing !

Consider deep mulching that entire garden area. It makes gardening so much easier. Plus you get a dry summer usually. Deep mulching will help lock in moisture in the ground.

It will be so amazing growing fruit trees and lots of perennials that come back each year. I live in my parents old home, my father is gone but his Japanese maple trees are here to remind me he’s still with me. They’re so magical through the seasons. I’m growing our garden to heal and for my daughter, it’s a form of horticultural therapy. After planting and seeing your achievements fills your soul up. After I’m gone, my daughter can see all the beauty I left behind. Our family comes from mostly Norway and Sweden also. Maybe that’s why I love watching the beautiful mountains dreaming of being somewhere like that. I hope you show us what all your planting like the trees and perennials. I’d love to see for inspiration. I love seeing other peoples gardens. It really shows each person’s individual personalities.

I'm sorry to say this, but you never plant before the end of frost nights in the Spring. Just saying. Ask any farmer or gardener, and they'll tell you the same thing. P.S. That bread looks amazing ! I am sure it also tastes amazing 👍
Our late frost date has usually passed by this time of year here in the PNW, but we had a late snow in April, and another surprise cold snap here at the beginning of May. Didn't look like it would get back below freezing again, but it did. Many gardeners I know were a bit worried about their seedlings. Especially with the changing climate, the last frost is not always so predictable.

You should make some row covers to keep frost off your plants and to keep bugs out too. And if space is a consideration you can get your gourds to grow up a trellis and then support the fruits. We have a very small garden and always do that for cucumbers and pumpkins so they take up less space in our garden because they are growing up a trellis and not on the ground.

I cry every time when I watch your spiritual life and the nature's beauty around you. My soul is this what it needs to heal from the struggles that I am facing in my life. Isabel, thank you for another video ❤️ Since Feb 24th, most of the time I wake up to watching the news on RUclips, and I honestly wait for every Sunday morning with excitement to start my day and have breakfast while watching your channel, because it just helps to calm down and see that it is possible to live the life you and Logan live, while our civilization goes through some sort of humanity crisis.. I read comments here sometimes and when I see negativity - I just truly don’t get it. It’s like I want to tell to those people: Gosh, can you at least not “liter” your negativity here? Your channel is an oasis for calmness for me. Thank you.

I do love your uploads but I would prefer if I could see real life, we know you don't really dig and plant in a white dress! You just said you don't mind the cold so much jeepers, a winter in the British isles nearly wiped you out, just be real please going forward.
The" farm " thing is a scam thing.. to manipulate the users.. they don't plant this way serious farmers... didn't you see that already the rain destroyed some seeds?... didn't you see how bored she looked ?... it's a scenario all this just to keep the viewers interested in her....
in such mountainous areas the climate and the soil is wet because of the mountains hydration.... the sun is hidden where she is because of the mountains shape... without much sun fruits and vegetables becomes ill and anomalous size .... like in her last year videos.. she was showing monsterous zucchinis and very small carrots....then the rain came and the winds and destroyed the rest....if they don't make a green house it's impossible something to grow there correct but she doesn't care...
All she cares is story telling and money she makes from the views.
