Alan, such an amazing comment to read and filled with wisdom. I'm 32, so not as wise as yourself. Spent many years in the mountains (rock climbing/sleeping in caves and just plain old adventuring) sometimes with friends and sometimes alone. Have had my fair share of tears of joy, waking up in cave surrounded by the Drakensberg Mountains, being overwhelmed at the immense beauty of nature and being completely reliant on yourself and what nature has to offer. By the way, I subbed; really enjoy your guitar playing, got my first nylon string (Cataluna) when I was 11. Take care and I hope to see more videos in the future.

@@lm5608 I know! She is always saying how cold she is and I'm like YOU DON'T HAVE A JACKET OR SWEATER OR GLOVES ON!!! She needs some good wool turtle necks and leggings and snow pants and a giant parka and thick gloves and TALL snow boots!!
Lol I'm always thinking this when I see her. But how you happen upon that first thermal shirt that makes you realise how much better things can be... Or those perfect shoes for perfect weather or that nice thick soft light loose winter hat that doesn't give you a headache... I didn't learn til I was 23 how much being WARM by dressing right and keeping the heat up indoors (by accident on top floor of heat included v.warm apartment) influenced my level of happiness. I hope a thrift store near her or somewhere in her path winds up with the perfect silky knit thermals and loose big soft pretty hat and warm light boots and good soft thick socks so she may know warmth and feel empowered to go out whenever. But I remember winters in northern new England and the ICE UNDER SNOW was the absolute worst treachery! Tears freezing on your face! no judgement, sweet isabel, you're a tough cookie😘❤💜💙💚
You can tell by a lot of the comments that a lot of us has kids - I have a daughter just a little younger then you - so just remember the parents in us always want to help you - by saying get snow boots!!!! You have a lot of care, love & support here!!! You are very lucky & blessed indeed. Remember that on you lonely days... we all have them ... no matter where we are❤️❤️❤️ Take care❤️❤️❤️❤️
About time you got paid for your efforts. I keep thinking you need to just put some of your own incidental music in as background or filler and not use others' music so you can be monetized.
@@abcxyz-ew8ui Very true but her being so creative, I think she should record little bits or riffs or passages on her hand drum or guitar and use them here and there throughout the video. Just short sections, like intro music on a TV show and it can easily be reused in other videos. Lots of people have opening and closing bits of music for their channels. She could even match the music to the emotion or action in the video. As the son of a lawyer, my legal disclaimer is that everything I say might be wrong! Cheers
@@belindagreen8267 Very true! Getting a really reliable car for starters would be a wonderful first adventure! I wonder though, she talks about her farm and when you grow things, you become very tied to the land and can't really go places because of the responsibilities. I guess in winter she could head to warmer climes like she did with Hannah.
My mentor in college (art school) lost his right eye while chopping wood, a big splinter flew up in to his eye. Please consider wearing eye protection. With Love...
Yes, you are constantly saying you’re cold but I don’t understand why you don’t have warm ski pants and boots and you always leave your coat open.?..??
@@darthdebby Unfortunately, Isabel lacks some of the most basic "off grid living" common sense. She seriously needs a mentor who has homestead survival skills. Isabel has chosen to live in a very dangerous environment at the most deadly time of the year. She can't even manage her water supply and She barely has a grip on her heat source. Isabel desperately needs help before something tragic happens.
I appreciate how Isabel shows us going, whether it’s uphill or downhill, and then goes back for the camera even tho it’s freezing cold and it’s icy everywhere
24:26 something about men’s hands who you can tell are such hard workers makes me want to cry with a warm heart. They make this world so much better to live in! 💓
We all need human contact, even if we also need solitude, a lot. Getting the balance is often the tricky bit, sometimes in our control, sometimes not. Our life journey is full of amazing stories, some happy and some not so happy. We are human :)
there are shoes with spikes, or just spikes to attach to the shoes ... you can also use a shovel to remove snow and then sprinkle sand or ash to prevent it from getting so slippery. Make a path to the places you go often! And - girl, It is not allowed to complain that you freeze when you are not wearing warm clothes!
@@dioniciawebster9957 it's an excuse to make a video. "oh no i'm cold"... LOL! City people who have apparantly never been outside believe these things.
It's crazy how she spends time telling us about her struggles hiking out, then proceeds to film the process with beautiful (but very time consuming) shots. Love you Isabel!! I appreciate all that you do :)
Yeah, she is a fraud. Nothing she does is what she is actually perceived to be doing . They are stories. No farm. Maybe a garden at best. Living off money from her parents. How many times can you film yourself making coffee? She does know how to film and edit video. But of course that is never talked about. No internet or cell service but she has an editing computer and quality camera equipment to upload her “stories”. Ok.
@@MACDRU421 I very much value your opinion, but I believe that you may have interpreted my comment in the wrong way. My fault, it did sound quite sarcastic. Oops! I was simply appreciating how Isabel set up her camera and provided us with beautiful art even though it was a struggle. I certainly don't have the strength to do that! I really hope that you have a fabulous day, sending my best!!
Isabel, you also might want to look into getting some soapstone tiles or a slab to put behind your wood stove. It will absorb heat and radiate it back into the house long after your fire has died down or gone out.
So much needs to be updated at your place during the summer to get ready for the next years winter. Burying pipes, buying thermal winter clothing and proper snow boots, building a car shelter for winter, chopping wood every day to create a better stockpile for winter. Don’t make next winter so hard on your self.
Isabel dear...you need to dress for the weather....cover your head, your extremities and wear warm boots with crampons for ice. think of your body as a teapot. it can only stay warm if you cover the pot. :) good thing to always be prepared. Plan ahead for your water & wood supply so you are not left stranded if the weather hits.
That's what those things on the boots are called! My mother bought some boots with the crampons and she loves them. They have saved her tushkus many a times. lol
Right? I'm in Arkansas, and 2 weeks ago I was wearing 4 pairs of pants and 3 tops, it was so dang cold. One morning we were at -18° out here. Layers matter!!
I'm sure there are too many comments for this to be seen, but peat moss is a non-renewable ressource - and the demand for it is quite high, which leads to companies draining really old bogs for it, that will take 1000s of years to get back to where they were, and that's really bad for biodiversity. It's really a great addition to gardening soil, but there are alternatives! You seem to be really into living with nature, so I assume you'd be interested in using sustainable materials, and I thought you'd like to know!
@@Courterfly I think the main one is just compost! A lot of soil mixes I've seen people make use it instead of peat moss, although you have to mix it with other stuff to keep it from being too dense. Plus you can make it yourself! As far as I'm aware, peat moss is really good for moisture retention but so is compost. I've also seen people talk about coconut coir, leaf mold etc. I guess it's a question of mixing the right proportions to get the qualities you need?
@@Courterfly We buy it normally in big bags, guess they use kind of green waste compost from grass, lawn, wood and hedge cuttings as well as autumn leaves, bark compost, wood fibers or coconut fibers, including coconut dust etc.
As of 12:30 am 3.1.21, 140,892 people saw your license plate number + state you live in. Also, the cross streets of where your parents live.... Don't forget to protect yourself. You are a lady and live alone in the mountains with no service with dangerous conditions. Take precautions and double check your editing girl.
@Eme Kennede Pretty sure it would be a lot harder if I don’t post my license plate number and state, along with cross streets. This is sound advice. Saying “stop” to this encourages her to do it more and then she’s alone and unsafe. Which is what worries me the most. Comments like that are unhelpful.
@@acandy7 Sooo.. WHAT? Last I saw, they do live there. Secondly, can you refute the rest of what I said? No? Ok. My point still stands. She does not live alone in the mountains. She is not brave or risky.

Hopefully you can get a new car soon... so scary that your breaks went out. I’m pretty sure that I’ve had actual nightmares of scenarios like that. So glad you’re ok. 💕
When sitting on the side of the road always have your emergency flashers on!! That was dangerous at night and icy road conditions or snowy conditions! Stay safe and warm! 💖💖
Agree and why didn't you keep your engine on for running the heater? Were you low on fuel or something? Can't believe you would sit for over 2 hours in the cold when you could have done something about it!
You should get yourself some spiked snow boots! They dig in/crack the ice when you walk on it, which may make it easier for you to do your daily tasks. Sending you lots of love and warmth! Spring is just around the corner xo
Indeed! Isabel get those boots! Your drive down the hill was harrowing! I have had the same experience and it is a prolonged agony of fear but you handled it so well. Your filming is on a whole new level! Very cinematic.
I have some slip-on over-boot traction spikes that I just fit on over my blundstones and then take off when I get to ice-free ground or surfaces. They are so effective and were very reasonably priced.
Dear isabell, love your vids 💚. it really hurts me to see you suffer though. Some of it is surely easy to solve with a little winter preparation. You could use gravel or street salt to prapare your paths and driveway, maybe shovel snow making some paths while it is still soft. Or maybe pay a neighbour or exchange services, like some good food for some driveway clearance. Then you coul park your car at home. Isolation for water pipes, a winter compost that is closer to home, preparing enough firewood in time and stocking it next to your house, proper snowshoes with small spikes at the bottom etc... And use snow chains on your wheels. There is also this plastic mat you can shove under your wheels if you get stuck in the snow or in sand. Maybe also watch Fy Nyth, a young woman living alone in the mountains who seems to have many winter tricks up her sleeve. And please get yourself a satalite phone. What happens if you break your foot and cant call for help or walk to the car. Also, do you have a bearspray at hand when hiking? Also usefull for other predators. I love risk and fun but i worry about you not ever taking any precautions. This is the mum in me begging you to have fun without disregarding your safety. Love from snowy Austria.
Your videos take me back to my time in my 20's out west during the days of Alexander Supertramp, and the dream of going into the wild. I'm still out here cultivating a life of nature, beauty and adventure. I look forward to seeing your journey!
I never thought I would always want this kind of similar lifestyle since it is where i grow up and I'm used to it, but then I realize I was so wrong when I started experiencing life in the city.

Thank you for your videos, and I'm glad that you took a sponsorship and that it will help you keep going with your plans. Best wishes for you, be safe!
You should definitely start a cut fire wood pile so you don't have to keep cutting wood and have you thought about getting a 4 wheeler or an off road vehicle to make getting around easier
Maybe a donor can get get you a used one! Small simple ones are not expensive. Also, used riding mowers with the mowing stuff removed make very good dependable way to get around rough ground.
It's nice to see how each person in your family have their own proyects going on but you still help each other all the time❤️ What a beautiful family, stay safe. Love u💋
I understand that you have an aesthetic for your channel that you like, but please invest in proper winter clothing. A proper jacket, WINTER BOOTS, and even maybe some snow pants. It will make your experience a lot more enjoyable. Also, they make CLEATS that you can pull over any shoes that help you get traction on ice, which would make going outside easier. The weather doesn't have to be an obstacle, you just have to prepare for it properly.
There's nothing aesthetic at all about wearing improper clothing and then complaining on the weather. It is just the opposite: ridiculous. Aesthetic in this case could be: curtains or shutters at windows and door, knitted scarf, warm fur or wool coat & gloves, and robust leather boots - Oh wait: That may not work for a vegan. But then it might not work for them to live through such weather conditions, either... ^^
I am constantly in awe of how you live, I live alone in a rural cottage that my mother left me, I used to hate being alone here, I was so lonely especially after dealing with the loss of my mom. When I first found your channel, I was so in awe, I thought to myself 'how does she live so happily alone. My point : Finding your channel helped me to see the value in solitary and taught me so much about womanhood. Keep an emergency candle lantern in your glove box, in an enclosed space like that they can raise the heat a good twenty degrees or more. You should also keep a low temp sleeping bag available, it could save your life in weather like that. And don't forget the matches! That stove should not be that close the wall. There should be a heat shield behind it. Once that wood gets hot enough for long enough it will burst into flames. Your power steering pump is low on fluid.
@@sabbottart its a safety issue...actually you arent supposed to have a woodstove without some sort of protection under and behind it...especially when she leaves the door open and sparks fly out..should have some slate or tiles under and a barrier behind on the wall...
When I lived in Fargo, North Dakota, at a certain point the snow packed down on the pavement and turned into a bed of pavement in itself. When new snow fell most of it was plowed to the side. Coldest place I ever lived. Always carry a sleeping bag and heavy outer clothes in the vehicle in the winter, water and other refreshments, and food.
Dear isabel, I hope you would consider making an Amazon wish list for items you need to survive at your beautiful mountain cabin. Things like: a wheelbarrow to cart your belongings back and forth from your car to your home. Some yaktraks or similar-shoe sole covers for walking on ice! Isabel is literally the living proof that your vibrational attitude doesn’t just determine your view on things but actually changes your reality as a whole!
Is that something you are just born with? I am an adult with tactile sensory processing disorder. So I constantly feel out of sync with my own body and very uncomfortable physically. I worry Bc of that, that I will never be able to raise my vibrational attitude.
@@courtneyfink5880 first of all, stop worrying that you cant. Just look around and start find things to be happy about. If you cant, I can tell you a thing or 2 about my situation that will make you very appreciative of what you have now. Anyways, choose CHOOSE to be happy. Smile at strangers, say hello. Start small. It is addicting. Sure, we all have bad days, hard days. But higher vibrations sure make them more bearable 💜

She totally can do this! She has come so far. However I think being better prepared for her environment would help tremendously! Warm snow clothes, shovels or a snowblower to make paths to her essentials and maybe some insulated storage for her hoses? Just thoughts. But Isabel will rock this in the end.
Even I don't understand what you're talking about, but even you make me laugh, it makes me feel good, it brings a lot of joy, you really cheered up my days with your videos, thank you
Isabel I'm so impressed how well you work in difficult conditions. Having lived off grid and "roughed it" for now 50 years. I see a dear kindred spirit when I watch your posts! ✌️🤗
This is not impressive, what work? She needs to deal with living and roughing it head on, not run away from her problems, I'm tired of each video hearing her woes, you have to start from somewhere, and starting is from the tiny house! I could go on but it is useless. She's going to do what she does and those that are still watching will eventually grow tired and not watch another.

The animals that give us wool are not killed to get the wool. They are shorn, the equivalent of getting a haircut. Many vegans still carry leather bags and wear leather shoes which the animal has to be killed for so in that case they may be vegan for health reasons rather than moral principles.

I just want to add that in the US the license plate number cannot be used for any exploitation. The information you can access is car model, year and obviously state, which is already obvious by looking at the car. Furthermore only the police and government officials can access owners personal information from a license plate. people blur out license plate numbers out of sheer ignorance and unfounded paranoia, perhaps due to urban legends. It’s totally safe to expose your license plate, else we wouldn’t have them visible on our cars.
@@jeffmpvd7689 well I’m far more comfortable with the government knowing my personal information than anonymous strangers on the internet , but that’s besides the point. If you think blurring out your plates will help you hide anything from the government you are very naive, the government already has all the information it needs about you, blurring out your license plate in a video won’t add any extra layer of privacy or security, it only exposes your ignorance of how things work

Cheers

So much needs to be updated at your place during the summer to get ready for the next years winter.
Burying pipes, buying thermal winter clothing and proper snow boots, building a car shelter for winter, chopping wood every day to create a better stockpile for winter.
Don’t make next winter so hard on your self.
But then what's she gonna make a video about?😆👌
Isabel dear...you need to dress for the weather....cover your head, your extremities and wear warm boots with crampons for ice. think of your body as a teapot. it can only stay warm if you cover the pot. :) good thing to always be prepared.
Yup, at least in Europe we have good alternatves - if possible PLEASE don't use peat. Not friendly for the ecosphere nor sustainable.
What are some alternatives to peat moss? I’m curious ☺️

There's nothing aesthetic at all about wearing improper clothing and then complaining on the weather. It is just the opposite: ridiculous.
Aesthetic in this case could be: curtains or shutters at windows and door, knitted scarf, warm fur or wool coat & gloves, and robust leather boots -

I also drive a lot in the mountains and dont have service. I'm so happy you are able to support yourself through your channel now! I love your videos
Her family has so much money and it's really cool to see her use the resources she has in such interesting and worthwhile ways ^_^
Lol
Great...I'm so glad u are making money off utube now. U earned it lil lady!!!
Everyone's nightmare - loosing brakes going down Stevens....!!! Good Lord you are lucky you were able to stop the car. This video is reminding me I do not have my winter emergency road kit in the car... blanket, warm clothes, hand warmers etc. I used to do this and I haven't these last years...
Thank you for being such a bright light in this world!!! 🌞🌎❤
Winter dressing in the cold 101: wear a scarf around your neck and down in front of your chest. Wear a wool sweater, preferably cashmere, preferably a turtleneck
Agreed....this girl is getting reckless
I was thinking that but she is vegan... would she wear wool? I really want to send her some possum socks. My feet would have fallen off in the weather she is in.
The animals that give us wool are not killed to get the wool. They are shorn, the equivalent of getting a haircut. Many vegans still carry leather bags and wear leather shoes which the animal has to be killed for so in that case they may be vegan for health reasons rather than moral principles.
So glad to see you doing sponsorships and more ads now! You deserve it and I can’t wait to see more of the farm ❤️

It's obvious to anyone who's moved off their parents' property. It's sad. She's looking like a moron and everyone in this comment section notices. Except for the city dwellers who know zero about country life.
I love that your mom supports your adventures
Am new to your channel and I really admire you. So young and living the "hard" life, the old life. Really impressive. Also lives in the country, done for almost 16 years, 11 years without neighbors, but now with neighbors. So I recognize myself in many ways. Go for it. I will follow you. Regards // A-M. Btw, i´m finnish, living in Sweden.
You definitely deserve to monetize this platform however you can. Love your content
Gahh I was so excited when you got the sled out ! I was like hell yeah she read the comments
Hello Rabecca
You can buy ice cleats to add on to your shoes - it will definitely greatly diminish, or eliminate, the issues you're having walking on ice. I keep a pair at home and work.
I envy you so much! I'm a senior college student in my final year. I feel imprisoned and like everything is do or die. I want to experience adventure and being free so much! Love your videos. You really introduce a lifestyle that seems challenging yet so rewarding.
I get so much peace by watching your videos. Keep the great work. Sending you hugs when lonely in your tiny house.
Thank you for being so inspiring. Its a great feeling to watch your vids and see you try so hard to live your life on your own terms. So many others including myself only wish or dream to even slightly taste that. Again thanks and love...p.s....i have used peppermint oil and water to keep the ants away.
you should shovel your pathways when the snow is still fresh, and dosent have time to melt into ice, Winter is the season of seting yourself up and taking things slow.
i LOVE the song you did with Logan Bowden! Thanks for introducing me to his music :) Any chance there will be more from you two?? Im also from Alabama so that made it even more awesome. But all the music you use is amazing and love watching your journey
Isabel, you are amazing. What you are doing is crazzzzy but I have to give you credit for being brave. Just be careful and know your limits, I grew up in Maine, granted we had a warm, protective house but the camping trips into the woods hunting helps me appreciate what you are doing. Enjoy but be safe!
This is why I've hated winters for so long. Not just the cold and ice but the fear of losing power or coming home to burst pipes
It's so funny and interesting how unprepared you are for this lifestyle yet you persevere.
there's a shot of your car's license plate, don't know if that's bad, but take care beautiful !
Your name is gorgeous
@@wojtekbear9832 So you trust all police and government officials?
@@wojtekbear9832 You can actually pay for a skip trace...
@@jeffmpvd7689 well I’m far more comfortable with the government knowing my personal information than anonymous strangers on the internet , but that’s besides the point. If you think blurring out your plates will help you hide anything from the government you are very naive, the government already has all the information it needs about you, blurring out your license plate in a video won’t add any extra layer of privacy or security, it only exposes your ignorance of how things work
I'd morph into an ice cube if I ran around in leggings or a dress where you live for just 1 minute...I'm amazed how you can be there without 5 layers of explorer clothes 🤭 omg or in your last vid when you were taking off your shoe and there came all this water out 😱I almost got a heart attack when I saw that haha spring will be so awesome
Go Isabel! Go Isabel! Thank you for sharing and thank you for being present with us. We are here for you with love and abundance in cherishing your truth.
You are such an inspiration, you're such a gem, you keep it real. I read a couple of comments below and they made me feel sick. People love to judge and have think they should provide you with solutions. But you are living your life as you live it, it's real. It's really easy for people to judge on the outside. Love your work gorgeous girl, wish I could run in the mountains with you.....you are a blessing....just a beautiful soul. xx
