@@lilianaoaida732 She very obviously insinuated it! Why else would she bring up a single culture in this context when in reality broth/bone broth is a thing in multiple cultures around the world. She was obviously being ignorant and thought it 'belongs' to Asia (which also is ignorant, she most likely was equating Asia with South East Asia. Or do you think she had Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iraq in mind? 😑😑😑)

@Trinity M there are many ancient civilizations. Mesopotamia (Iraq) the Aztec/Mayan/Olmecs (Mexico) Peru, India, Egypt. Major cooking inspiration and cultivation of flavours and spices from Mexico and India and Turkey. We need to come together and love and share our food and create peace.

Cooking at work while listening to this today. Just never heard of ANYONE that claims bone broth could be culturally appropriated? Quite possibly the strangest remark ever. Hope you are joking. Sure broth goes back to prehistoric and ancient cultures, with China being one but also Mexico, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Peru,Japan but virtually every culture has broth based recipe from either animal/seafood or plant sources for nutrition. Of all the things Paltrow(of Jewish culture) has presented this is not offensive at all. It is extremely nutritious. Many cultures drink broth. Kudos to Chinese Won Ton Soup but let's not forget 'Jewish Penicillin' or Chicken Soup. A good stock is relatively colourless except for beef which is light brown. Fasting is a practice in many cultures and religions and is done for limited period. One of the many ways to reach out to people everywhere is to share our food with love and peace. Also loved the segment with Palin, she's a wonderful cook.

She's gotten older and looks really sick in that podcast, if her health isn't in question I've got no problems. However, nothings wrong with her putting on a few pounds as long as it's controlled and she's exercising to stay in shape. People said the same thing about Ariana Grande when she lost all that weight, maybe she just doesn't like having any access weight on her personally, who knows. Telling someone they look "healthy and beautiful" to not hurt their feelings isn't doing them any favors. "No one has the right to tell what’s good for her!"? That's the problem with close minded people, nobody can tell them anything, it's a very arrogant trait to have.

I don't fast, and yet I lost 40 lbs in 8 months. Everything we've been taught about food is wrong. Even the low carb Atkins diet had it only partially correct. Focus on the protein, limit your carbs, and watch your calories. There is no such thing as an essential carb. Carbohydrates have no essential nutrients that the body cannot make for itself. To heal injuries and grow muscle, you need protein. Carbs are just energy to fuel your workouts. Not working out? Cut back the carbs, but keep the protein if you want to stay healthy. Intermittent fasting may be helpful in short bursts, but I wouldn't want to make it a regular habit.

Gwyneth needs some fried chicken on her bones! However, I don't see anything wrong with "Wellness people and Guru's." Thank goodness people remind us about how great broth and natural things can do for us. They remind us of the good old home remedies that our grandma's taught us and have worked forever. Good old chicken soup has vitamins and nutrients for you. Doctors will prescribe medicine and make money from pharmaceutical business as well. And sometimes they don't know how to treat you. Health also has to do with the mind and making sure we're treating our bodies and feeling good. Fried chicken is good for the soul too.
