Sitting in the car listening to Continuum, then opening your mind to something like Born & Raised and getting around to understand the whole discography. It's an exercise in opening your mind to what an artist can be, or do.

Oh, that's the same for me. I discovered John listening to AOL music in 2002. He has created the soundtrack to my life, and there have been 20+ years of growing. I am seeing him for the first time next year in Glasgow. I may get sick from overexcitement.

Same here. Heard “wonderland” in 2002 or so and I was hooked. I remember thinking the lyrics were so *adult*. Then “bigger than my body” and “clarity” the next year. It was a big musical moment for a 13 yr old.

Big gap, got back into him with search for everything (great!), sob rock, now solo... Revisiting his stuff I missed, I'm regretting not making any effort to listen much or to go see him for three next 3: bs, b&r and pv tours... I've come to appreciate these 3 albums so much more now.
