- Check out all the gear featured in this episode at: www.amazon.com/shop/fishtrips So I made a road trip towards the Texas Gulf as I headed to the Bolivar Peninsula to do some exploring.
I started by showcasing the Bolivar Ferry and how it keeps it's residence on the move from Galveston to Bolivar.
I then headed to the historic Bolivar Lighthouse to discuss it past, present, and hopefully future. You can donate to help restore the Historic Bolivar Lighthouse by visiting:
www.bolivarpointlighthouse.org/
Ok, so I continued up I-87 as I visited Fort Travis to have a close look of Bolivar's military history.
I also headed to Crystal Beach and had a interesting conversation to why it's called "Crystal" Beach.
Now if you're in Bolivar then you'll probably be looking for some fishing spots, so I headed to the North Jetty to give you a birds eye's view of the Jetty.
By this point I was starving and headed to the best restaurant in Bolivar aka Stingaree Restaurant & Marina.

So how did y'all like this one?🤔
Why are you trying to get me drunk at 10 in the morning? Would love to see you go down to Matagorda bay area.
😂😂
Love your videos and you perfectly showcased Bolivar!
Yo my brotha..Enjoyed the vlog..I’m definitely going to see the Fort since I’m ex military myself..Go Army!! But yea keep em coming ✌🏿
When I first heard you were doing only the trips and not the fish I was worried. I fish, alot so I'm bias. After watching this from start to finish I must say you did an incredible job. Now I'm worried I'm going to start liking the trips epsiodes more then the fishing.. 200 likes let's go!
LOL I'm still going to do Fish episodes. For now, time for a little change. Thanks for your continued support.
Been on bolivar so many times but never bother to check out it’s history other than knowing about (what was once) roll over pass. Great “trip”.
Been going there since I was a kid, and you covered most of its activities. There are some.e sketchy places out there but it's cool to get away. Good vlog. Fun fact: Bolivar experienced growth when Galveston outlawed drinking on their beaches.
You should come visit Matagorda. Great Redfishing at Battleground where the last of the Karonkawa Indians died in battle. We have the mighty Colorado River, lots of birds and the largest Spec Trout in Texas.
Getting a lot of request for Matagorda I see. I might have to start doing my research.
You’re awesome goin to buliver penicillin (shot) eatin at Stingrays but ya drive right past the Big Store, that’s just not right, you gotta go back, they got everthing. Yes you need to fish the northjetty boat cut, travel light, good shoes. My dad, brother and I made many trips there, caught lots of specs, redfish and sand trout, crab too. Grandfather had a camp 2 blocks from the bait camp, bathed in a #3 wash tub, beach camps were different in the 60s. Shame you didn’t get to experience Rollover Pass, it’s a shame the way it ended🥲. Put San Luis Pass for redfish on your summer/fall agenda. Love your stuff, keep it up! 👊
Hey Steve, thank you!
We should’ve taken a shot every time you said Bolivar wrong lol. Nice footage!
Dang, I said that wrong too?😂
Or Sting-a-ree, not Stingray! Old boy has a language all his own, but we love our Roynell (see, we can do it, too!) Haahhahha.
Y'all know what I meant damn it.😂😂
Love the information that you put in your videos!! Can’t wait to see you flourish!
Thank you!
I got a beach house on a canal in Bolivar
We want you out there my boy!
North jetty looks SO much cleaner than the last time we were there. It was an absolute garbage pile a few months ago. It made me irrationally angry at humans.
Good trip
Fantastic video. Loved it!
Thanks Jimbeaux!😎
Beautiful bro👍🏼
Thank you!😎
Loved the video I hope you get 200 likes and you go walk the 2 miles of jetty. Blessings for you and your family.
Thank you Henry! Although, I really hope I don't get the 200 likes!😭

Love your drone footage they are off the hook not sure how far San Antonio is from where you are but I would be most interested in seeing some footage from Fort Sam Houston I was born there and don't know anything about it my dad was in the Army and we had to ship out when I was travel ready. Would appreciate it my brother.
Like #186 and I will gladly join you walk that jetty! I will bring all my crabbing gear , rods and reels.
