Hey LLYT, tank looks great. I love your diy background and the turts look happy. I did have a couple safety concerns tho. I noticed that no one was wearing gloves while carrying in the tank. Gloves should always be worn when carrying something that heavy. Another thing I noticed is that your footwear did not have the strap on. Loose footwear causes dozens of injuries in America every 30 minutes. Once they publish the stats for the rest of the world I will update my numbers. Otherwise great video and tank build! When setting up the basking area, what type of bulb and wattage do you use? I see some people using two bulbs, and some using one. What’s the difference? Thanks!

Great improvement from your previous videos! My only problem with either diy or commercial aquarium backgrounds is the bacteria that accumulates there. Otherwise great ideas.
Thanks! Some algae has accumulated on it but it gives a natural look, my filtration takes care of keeping the water clean and from any grime getting too out of hand!
Sure, but bacteria doesn’t get eliminated by the filtration. I almost installed those Universal Rocks backgrounds on 2 of my 75g tanks but my turtles' vet advised to not to do it.

It's a bit trickier with turtles because they are such massive polluters, which is probably why your vet would advise against it. But if the fish can live and thrive in it for a long time, it should be fine. They have extremely resilient immune systems and would deal with far worse out in nature or even in a pond.

Thanks! They are huge! Stock tanks are great for certain setups, however difficult to cover to reduce humidity/evaporation indoors. I have plans in the future to go even bigger though! I have Silver Dollars in the tank, they are an excellent addition, thanks for the comment!

You should never house 2 aquatic turtles together unless you have the space. Sure you have 200 gallons, but only 1 basking spot. Your turtles will actively try to drown each other. Please stop showing people that a set-up like this is acceptable. It is not. Down voted and reported for spreading misinformation.

So the uvb fixture goes only over the water and not the dry basking area?
Only over the dry area! I use a Mercury Vapor bulb over the basking area which emits heat, UVA and UVB.
I have 3 baby turtles a red ear slider and 2 Florida red bellies they can get up to 14 inches what size tank should they need ?

Mine don't care about it at all! The Drylok provides a good protective barrier from being able to just chomp off pieces.

Those turtles are so big that the 210G doesn't seem huge. What's the dimensions of the tank? Nice set up. The turtles have plenty of swimming space.
