Really clever and easy for anyone to try. And thank-you for the great detailed step-by-step instructions (that are not overly detailed). Never worked with acrylic/scoring but u made it look less daunting. Thanks for the video!
This would solve my issue with my Turt climbing her eggcrate basker. You have been such a huge help for my girl and I. Everything I have learned about the care of my turtle I learned from your videos. Thank you!!!
I would try to come up with an alternative to the reptile carpet, especially since you won't be able to remove it and wash it. Reptile carpet is known to mold easily.
if anyone try to build this, please cut the reptile mat between ramp and platform, so the basking spot stays really dry and also the turtle have a really dry spot for the belly. I love this guide on your channel, because i love your turtlecare. Now i can test the above platform for my turtle without spending hundreds of dollars 👍🏻
Thank you I purchase the basking area from you but the turf grass was clogging my filter and I think my turtle got to heavy and it broke lol this is an amazing thing I can do on my own thank you for sharing
Wuick question do goy have a video on which uvb lights you use dor the basking area. Have a RES and use a hear bulb and uvb bulb. Uvb bulb is on a timer ans the hear bulb is on 24 7. The heat bulb is red so it doesnt give too much light at njght.
Not the video creator but from my experience Any uvb strip light that’s 10% is good it emits high uvb if you wanna be extra sure/safe use an mercury vapour bulb in stead of your current heat lamp as that emits uvb as well as heat so both of them you will be good
Does the mercury bulb only come in one setting type deal. Is there a range for the res with mercury bulb? Also the mercury bulb is bright... Wouldn't that bother the turtle while sleeping ?
@@TheGreekTsoureki you could get a adjustable light fixture you can turn it down or have the red heat lamp on at night and mercury in the day thats another option or turn the bulb off at night as long as your room is at least 20 degrees Celsius your turtle will be fine
This is a really cool idea but I don't like the idea of using the reptile carpet, especially with it being glued. Reptile carpet is known to mold easily and you won't be able to effectively wash it since it is glued in place.
A clever, approachable, and functional design that’s affordable! Way to go LLYT!

@@dr.gross5101 I have had reptile carpet in my basker for years. I have had zero issues with mold.
Great idea.💚🐢 Now what i need is an idea for an outside enclosed summer tank for my 2 large female yellow bellied sliders.

Thanks for a great idea!
This is great, but I think I like the one I bought from your Etsy store better. 😊
Thank you for a neat idea to build a turtle basking platform. Will I need a heat lamp and a uvb lamp a on top of the platform? Thank you.
yes turtles need both heat and uvb to stay healthy
Awesome ! one more thing. How do you keep the water so clean , do you use canister filters ? Thanks man
I just want to know where I can buy the Turtle Basker 500 deluxe edition that comes with a nesting area.
I rescue turtle, and it is now 16 y.o . she needs a much better living area. I rescue it. I think it is a he! much thank ❤
Great idea! 👍🏼
I have a 75 gallon tank but it doesn’t have that top trim anymore. Will your above tank basking area still fit my tank?
Exelente contenido 👍
Nice idea
For some reason my large 10 in turtles are having a hard time climbing the ramp. Any suggestions?
I placed a screen (used to cover the gutters) over the ramp and now my large 10 in turtles can climb the ramp much easier.
where do I go to buy your stuff?

Has anyone found a storage container that would fit well on a 40 gallon breeder tank? Thank you for the great idea!
Where do you get the hinged cover from?
Amazon sells them, just make sure you get it for your specific brand/dimensions tank!
Hello! New sub here❤
Welcome!!

That could happen, I suppose. You could use zip ties zipped tight through holes in the plastic and then just cut them out when things get dirty.
If you would sell your basker for any cheaper, let me know and I will buy it.
Yeah it’s way too expensive for how simple it is
