- Lockhart’s Anti-Gravity Review. This is an honest review of Lockhart's brand new hair product Anti-Gravity Matte Paste. I’ll be taking a look at both the aesthetics (packaging and smell) of the hair paste and the performance of the product. Is it any good? Is it worth the money?

Will you be trying this product?
Robin James robij im the first
no
I recently got a jar and absolutely love it. I have been watching a lot of reviews on the product, and something that keeps coming up is the lack of hold. I have used anti gravity for almost two weeks. I use a finger tip amount as pre-styler and finish off with a slightly smaller amount to add some extra hold. I have a very similar hairstyle to you Robin, and by adding just a little more as a post styler, I get a style that lasts all day. The only down side with this is, if you like running your fingers through your hair, it might not be comfortable as the product can be quite sticky throughout the day. In terms of thickening, I have fine hair, and a lot of it, and I have noticed a huge difference, because I no longer see my scalp. Overall I think it is a fantastic product. To those complaining of a lack of hold, I strongly suggest that you add a little more in your pre style and post style.
No, but before your review and Matt's , I wanted to try it)
no
When it comes to product reviews. No one can beat Robin.
Thanks Vanshaj. Too kind.
I love how you put so much effort into your videos!
Thanks L. It's got to be done! I'm not someone that coasts.
Good solid honest review Robin keep it up!
Absolutely spot on with the review Robin, kind of how I predicted it to perform with our fine hair type too. Very informative on how we can get the most out of it though, brilliant
Cheers Nicholas. Glad you liked it.
Great review...👍...your hair product reviews are always the best.
Thank you
Excelente and Honest review Robin they are so helpfull, really enjoy watching them :)
Thanks Luis.
THANK GOD YOU MADE A REVIEW ON ANTI-GRAVITY. I was looking to buy but i didnt know if it was for me!!!
Cheers Adrian. What else would you like?
I did miss you on Thursday but I know you are getting really busy with your new projects. I'm so proud of you for doing something difficult just to challenge yourself. I'm sure your doing great with it as you do with everything. I'm still here with you and wish you luck with all your projects. Hope to see you on Thursday.
Thanks Jennifer
Been waiting for a review for so long~
It's here now! Hope you enjoyed.
I'd love to see a breakdown of the pacinos line of hair products. Great video as always robin
Need to get on them, for sure.
Great review as always! I was curious to see how this would work in finer hair types.
TDM Style He actually does have quite fine hair :)
that was the point.. 😂
Cheers Matt.
Another awesome video, Robin! I know this is a bit different than what you normally do but I’d love to see how you film/edit your vids. Maybe a behind the scenes video in the future?
Of course! I love this idea. It's not just me. I have some very talented people now working with me.
I tried this product around 3 weeks ago, and i agreed with everything you said, especially in term of hold which i think more toward low to medium and how dry it became when you rub it into your hand.
Hi Robin, i wanted your advice on which product out of Aveda thickening paste and Aveda grooming clay would you recommend for very fine/thin hair?
Thanks
I tend to gravitate to your reviews because we have the same hair type and style. I wanted to like Anti-Gravity but don't. It leaves my hair dry, dead and difficult to restyle (and quiff falls). I do love Lockhart's Matte Clay and Enigma Volumizing cream. I think it all depends on hair type. Anti-gravity may work on another type of hair than mine.
Loving your hair in this one.👌😍
Hey Robin! love your channel! One thing I'm going to say in this case is that in the videos on ModernMan TV where the Lockharts are shown talking about their products, looking at their hair they seem to be using a metric ton of product in their hair to get that pompadour/volumized slick back thing going, whereas normal users would use a finger scoop or two depending on what they want. So my thought process is you experienced low hold because I'm guessing they formulated it to take quite a high volume of product to style with.
In other news, for me I always find matte products either work or they don't. I used to use a VERY BAD matte product from RedKen called Rough Clay 20 that literally could'nt hold my hair for more than 5 minutes no matter how much or how little I put In, and it made my hair look like I put it in a deep fryer. I find the reason some products do not hold is they give the same effect as dry shampoo, which is to absorb the oils, but it just doesn't stick to your hair when that happens.
Spot on review. This product need a touch of hair spray. Fantastic volume in returnZ
Great review ! Can you please do Aveda Pure-Formance Grooming Clay next ? That one has been around for almost 11 years.
Robin what's the software you use for all of your wording that comes on screen is it after effects or adobe premiere? Or something similar
Great video Robin, have you done a video on sun creams and aftersuns?? I would love to see what products you use!!
I haven't but I will!
Hi Robin, another great review. Your hair, parted on the side, is a very complimentary look. As far as the Anti-Gravity Paste, without even trying it, it is a pass for me as its holding power appears to be on the low end. Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks Charles. Just trying a different look for a bit.
Eagerly waited for this......thank you so much Robin!!! Much love to you💜
Also their new product 'Enigma' will you try it?
Would love to try it. AND thank you.
Have you done a review on Imperial pomade
This also has silica that helps plump the hair as well!
Great video like always. You should do Pacinos Matte review
SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FREN!
Hi robin! I love your videos! Could you review the 1950 matte clay
which has better hold for thick hair, want some texture and not too matte finish ? this one or matte clay?
Which do u think have the strongest hold? AG or blumann hybrid? And which is the best for someone with fine hair like us?
I'm telling y'a, try the Oasis Clay from Templeton tonics , crafted matte paste, the newly reformulated flagship matte paste, O'douds Dry Wax & stickmore styling cream 😉
I purchased a matte paste called Sea Monster and it’s quite similar to AntiGravity. Only difference is that Sea Monster is petro free and probably has a firmer hold. Scent is much better too.
Antigravity is petrolatum free as well LoL
Hey quick question, what is the highest hold matte finish product you have used? I have tried many different products and none of them hold too well. (Also I have fine hair lile yours)
Gonna try this product soon👌
Go for it!
Nice video robin love em lockharts has another product its similar to anti gravity but it's in a bottle I think it's called enigma
Uncle clutch yes it is ....I am actually curious about it
Need to try it!
Robin.. what the best product for pre and post styler in 1 product?
What do you think about shampoo alternatives like Morris Motley’s cleansing oil? Can it really replace shampoo and conditioner and is better for you hair? Would love you opinion on this. Greetings from Germany
looks better than super clean back and sides. can u make a video about it?
I knew you'd do this one eventually. Will you be reviewing Nostalgic's Moon Paste?
I haven't heard of it. Is it good?
Is this stuff kinda sticky? I'm looking for a kind of sticky paste with a rubbery grip to it.
Im really glad I waited for your review before buying this. I was really hyped, but I don't think it would work for me.
ParanoidPixel you can still try it ahahah
I don't possess a lot of disposable income to just buy everything I want. =/
I like to make smart pruchices, rather than wasting my money... im sorry you don't understand this concept.
Some people will love it, but not quite right for me.
You should try out Lockhart's transcend wax/clay hybrid. It's their highest holding matte product, I think you'd really enjoy it.
Vince and his Hair i second this. LH transcend works wonders for my hair. Despite of having fine dtraight asian hair, transcend works really well. Strong and lightweight. Its like a blumaan original on steroids
Definitely would like to see this!
In my own experience with a lot of fine Asian hair, its perfect, but it really dries out my hair :p. Also, it WILL have medium shine unless you use it as a pre-styler
He should try Enigma too. I got it last week and I absolutely love how it performs in my hair.
Definitely need to try!
Hey robin great review. Would you consider reviewing r+co continental styling wax ? I'e found that it's a hair product unlike any other I have used but it doesn't seem that well known.
Hey, I've not heard of it. Where do you get it from?
I was disappointed in the hold with my hair too. I have thick hair, seems like it's ok for for texture natural look. Hold dosen't last long with my hair
Hey Robin great channel 👍🏼, can you review Da Dude Da’wax lots of hype/good reviews on Amazon.
Hey robin could you do a brand battle of Kevin Murphy rough rider vs hairbonds clay or rough rider vs apothecary 87 clay pomade
100%. BB is definitely coming back with more.
keep up the good work.
yes I do.
What’s a good hair product for thick hair ?
Where did you get that polo man.
Good review! Ill be trying this. I notice you changed your hairstyle. May I know what hairstyle you used in this video? Thanks! Always here to support
Hey, I'm just growing it out slightly. Scissor cut back and sides.
Any good pre stylers I should try besides a salt spray and a mousse? By villain any good?
Wasn't huge on Sidekick but they have a new one out. I love Aveda Thickening Tonic and Label M Thickening Tonc.
Robin have you tried any of John Freida's mens range? You can only get it in Boots. I got the gel yesterday and it's pretty decent.
Hey, I've not. I was sent them but still to try.
I guess we will see a review soon? I'm gonna pick up the paste and cream at some point during the week.
is this product is stronger than matte clay ?
Question:
If we're supposed to shampoo every other day, what do I do on days when i have hair product in my hair but it doesnt wash away with water alone .. should I use shampoo every day -- on days when I use product?
Hey, it's always up to you. You can shampoo every day, just depends what you like
Hey Robin! Love that moustache but i think it needs a bit of a trim on the sides :D
Agreed. I genuinely haven't had time to do it.
disappointed by how it didnt have a higher hold, do you think this would work for normal hair though?
For texture, yes!
I use Morgan's matte black pomade
Hey Robin have you thought about making a review on pacino's signature series? I've seen it on Instagram quite a lot👍
I need to. Definitely on the list.
Is these a good product or there are much better alternative product??
Hi Robin, just subscribed. Definitely the best men’s grooming RUclips channel atm. Was just wondering, what do you think about Imperial Barber Products? Try their pomade paste if you haven’t already :)
Thanks Jovan.
I will definitely try the product. Are you a fan of them?
Robin James Yeah I am :), the paste doesn’t necessarily have the best hold, regardless is my go to product. They have stronger pomades and tbh haven’t tried anything better.
Hi Robin I just love your channel and I'm so so happy that I subscribe to your channel and I love love your fashion style ...I like to know if you can do a review or get someone to help you review product for men of color ? thanks Robin love your channel
Hey Raymond. I have actually been looking at this and would love to do it to include more guys.
I believe they also do a mustache wax too.
Could you review Pantene Pro v hair mousse?Thank you Robin.
Hey. Could be one for the future. Do you use it?
Your hair is so fucking cool man, btw i love your vids keep it up! ☺️🤘🏻
Thanks Mark.
Hi Robin jist want to know how is the quicksand for thin fine hair? Would you recommed it or not?
Hey, pretty sure I did a review on it... years ago. Might be one to revisit.
Thanks for reply and yeah i have seen that video do many times and love it everytime. 👍✌
I’ve been using L’Oréal TXT IT 02 hyper fix putty, but they since discontinued it. What should I use in place of this product?
Ooh, I'm not sure I know this product. What kind of thing do you want to do with your hair.
I have a similar hairstyle to yours and generally style it the same way. I am looking for a really firm hold with no shine. I have been looking at Anchors Courage Clay, any comments on that clay?
Ur channel's name is classic dude! 👍😎🤘
Thanks Riz.
Robin have you used the latest Loreal Studio Line sculpting wax !?
I've not. You like it?
i have been using the Studio Line TXT Shaping Pomade #4 .. i really like it .. with just a small amount, it does have an all day hold.. tho with a strong wind blowing forget about trying to run your hands through your hair.. you definitely need to wet & re-comb..
iam using the sculpting wax now, ehhm i dont know, i washed my hands 2 times with soap & still not all coming off .. i put about a finger nail size amount... the hold & texture seems really good.. tho seems that it gives off a bit of a greasy look.. it doesn't say what level of shine its suppose to be..
For the Aveda tonic, are you putting it in dry hair or damp?
Towel dried for me.
Damn your arms are looking good!
A few people have said this. Honestly, I hadn't noticed.
Robin, do you have Define Men in the UK? If not... What's your opinion on American Crew and L'oreal prodcuts? I'm looking for the real deal to invest my money in. I've got medium to long length hair, but it is on the thinner side and i am usually rocking the saltwater spray look, easier said, the messy look. Simply because of the volume it gives me and the texture. I also like to rock the slicked back hairstyle because it hides the hair i'm growing out (which used to be a undercut), though i don't feel American Crew's Heavy pomade holds my hair back in place properly. Really just feels like i put in some sort of product to let my hair "shine".
Heelp me dear Robin! :O
Hey Matt, I like American Crew and L'Oreal. I'm not sure I know Define Men. Where are you based? Can take a look at what's available to you.
Vestfold county in Norway. Or just simply Norway. I live in city called Sandefjord ;)
I think I'll give this one a pass. As a guy with fine hair this obviously isn't going to work. I'm using the Dead Sea Clay at the moment and that works great for me. Good luck with moving to a new studio!
Thanks Rory.
Notification squad !
Hey!
Can you review craigmont paste pomade
I don't know it but will keep an eye out.
how is the barbering going ?
Slowly but I have plans!
@@ManForHimself How are those plans going one year later?
Robin Love from Nepal and is it possible that you be doing reviews of products available in nepal
What ones do you have? Can take a look.
Robin pls be my life coach xx
Deal!
7:14 he looks good with those big biceps 💪
this guy will look better dressed like a british lad from the 1800s
That polo fits you well.
A lot of guys wear them too tight in the shoulders and armpits.
Thank you. I really like this one.
Are you going to review Nevermore?
Hi robin i purchased nioxin diaboost and it's not working for me i have fine hair lot's of it but it's really fine in the sun or in bright light you can my scalp when i do a slick back or quiff do you think i'm applying product wrong it's only been a couple of days a reply would be helpful. Or do you have any other tips of tricks to not make my scalp show in the sun.
Nick Mistry not Robin sadly but one thing that may help is layering your hair and or having a bit more length on top. I have fine hair aswell and when my hair is short my scalp can show if i style it wrong. I'd say try using a little less product. And are you using a prestyler?
Jadin Scarselli yeah the nioxin diaboost
Nick Mistry hmm sadly mate i don't know too much about that. I normally use mousse and dry shampoo. But where can you see your scalp when you do your hair? I may not know as much as Robin but I'm here to help in anyway i can. It can just be difficult over youtube though lol
Oh huge thing refrain from using high shine products. You still can use pomades but try to find one that doesnt reflect the sun into your eyes lol. But high shine with fine hair in my experience leads to being able to see your scalp more. Whatvtype of styling product you been using? I use lockharts matte clay personally
I've been using craft clay by black label and my scalp mainly shows in the front in the sun also i have a double hair crown.
Can you review 'Depot clay pommade'?
Another product I don't know. Have you tried it?
Robin James ive actually used it some time ago. Its quite expensive though, but its nice. Awesome reviews by the way!
How were u at studies very curious to knoe
Pretty good. Left with 8 A's and a C (we don't talk about the C).
What products do you use on your fine hair right now?
Hey, I love Thickening Tonics (Label M and Aveda) and Clay (Lockhart's, Apothecary 87)
Thank you for replying, I'm a fan from Philippines, too bad some of the products you are using are not available here.
SO old school that its a certainty that dude is clearly a time traveler from the 1800's
yup, no paste will ever beat a sea salt or thickening tonic spray as a prestyler...
good ol fashioned review
Favourite!
Your hair is literally what my hair is like right now
I'm growing it out a bit.
Please review transcend from lockhart please
Will definitely do it.
Can you pleaaassee do a review of moonfiber by YTer Edwardzo
It's been asked for a few times. Is it white label?
Robin James im not sure about that, however i have been very curious since he has uploaded multiple creative and stylish hairstyles using that product. So i suggested it for u to test.
Are you still cutting hair? If so it'd be great to watch some of those videos too... if you're okay with it :)
Will definitely do some. Working up plans.
Ironic that something called anti gravity doesn’t hold very well. Great review, think I’ll pass on this one.
Yeh, not great for me.
Can you review da dude da wax?
I don't own it but I should get my hands on it.
apparently its amazing, and amazon reviews are through the roof. Yet no big yters like yourself have made a vid about it. Will be worth a try :D
I have fine hair and this product doesn't work well for me
Have you tried their other products?
Robin James just this one I've tried, it doesn't seem to work well as a standalone product for me I might try it with another as a pre or post styler, either way I look forward to your reviews!
Have you been hitting the gym? Your arms look great!
I actually have but I hadn't noticed the different. You guys have though!
They say others will notice a difference before you do! Keep up the great work
So, pass if you don't thick hair. Glad I watched your review before buying.
Are you growing your hair out, Robin? Looks like you have a little more on the back and sides.
Hey Gina, yeh, I am. Growing sides slightly.
Nice.
I just can not take Lockhart's seriously after seeing this review.
With those mustache handles you look like Pumbaa from "Timon and Pumbaa" cartoon.. !
