Daniel: “Don’t look too deep into this list” me: *watches this video for the nth time It’s not just inspiring, but very satisfying to watch how smartly versatile and minimalist this wardrobe is.
I'm a woman, but I still absolutely love this video and got a lot of great ideas. Now I just need to find a female Daniel Titchener! Great stuff! Keep it coming :)
For me, let’s call it… fashion-uneducated, this video was very helpful! I tend to be drawn toward simple and minimal aesthetics and you’ve given me some great ideas 💡 Editing was top-notch by the way - your effort did not go unnoticed! 🙌
As as menswear stylist (and also a minimalist), I want to compliment on your style and wardrobe. You've got a really good taste! (and glad you showed fashionbeans on your screen, hope people will find it useful!) Especially liked the fact that you also have dress trousers made of wool. If I could only give you an advice, get one more pair of shoes so these awesome Oliver Cabells and Chelsea boots won't wear out too soon and you can enjoy wearing them longer.
@@funtime6893 Hey! Not sure about courses, but you should def check out GQ UK/US, Esquire UK/US, Mr. Porter, Fashionbeans and explore youtube - I'm a big fan of Daniel Simmons, Tim Dessaint. Also guys like One Dapper Street, Gallucks, Harry Has. Sartorial Talks or He Spoke Style if you are into tailoring and more of a formal side.
It's been a while since I've been implementing my capsule wardrobe. It's a no rush process, which is quite important at least in my case. So far 15kgs worth of t-shirts, sweaters, jackets were donated for a better cause and damn this process is so satisfying.
I certainly find this a challenge as a female minimalist. Societal expectations dictate a certain number of items in our wardobe. I reassess my wardrobe at the begining and end of each season considering if there are any items I needed last year and haven't purchased or any items that I didn't wear over the last few months and could donate. Rotation has been a helpful tool for me to overcome this. Having a very small and basic 'permanant' wardrobe with a couple of more eye-catching items added every six months, then donating and purchasing fresh style pieces. Obviously as and when I have the time, desire and financial flexibility to do so.
Signe from Use Less actually is entirely focused on finding personal style and capsule wardrobes if anyone is trying to figure out where to start or even figure out how to find their own personal style! Thank you so much for these videos. While I feel that I do not spend a ton of money on clothing, I do have clothes that I have hanging in my closet that I never wear. I definitely looking into cleaning everything out and only keeping a few clothes that I truly wear. Now that I come to think about it, I have been wearing the same outfits for the last year or two.
This is one of the most practical minimalist wardrobe videos I have seen so far. There is just so much that actually works for me. Thanks for this video man Love from India
I am in the middle of cleaning out my wardrobe full of unnecessary old stuff, and really interested to start up a capsule wardrobe. This video inspired me a lot! Thanks Daniel :)
if minimalism give me this versatility then I will be minimalist. so cool. and don't lie you know a lot about style. that's shown in your choices, they are perfect.
Love your content! I'm sure you'll get to 100k really soon. I'm sure it takes a lot of time to make videos but you could grow faster if you posted more often :). Could you please make a video about (maybe minimalist) work out? I've seen you have some weights in one of your videos.
These include your workout wardrobe?? WOW. You are a true minimalist. I am trying to cut down my clothing items slowly. Definitely make me more motivated to do so. Thanks.
Wow Daniel, I'm in a journey of decluttering my things and I found out that your capsule wardrobe concept is the most suitable for me Thank you in advance
Hey! I just want to let you know how awesome your content is and from all vlogs that I've watched, this is one of the most helpful and a real game changer! Thanks!
I started watching videos like these 5 yrs ago to build a travel wardrobe capsule that would cover most situations. @Toby Wade Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Great Video Dan. It's nice to see a minimalist with some color added. So, many wear only Black, which makes people look like their attending a casual funeral. Lol. You've given me some good ideas.
Tops: Black tee x10, light blue OCBD x4 (for work), black merino crew sweater x5 Bottoms: Carbon jeans x2, black jeans x2, grey jeans x2, grey chinos x4 (for work), grey shorts x1 Outer: Black TNF puffer, black leather bomber, black zip hoodie x2 Shoes: Black cap toe boots, charcoal Allbirds, black Vans, black flip flops Never worn: Grey suit A few more for exercise and hiking/backpacking.
This video came onto my news feed just a couple of days after my partner purged his wardrobe, and he's now down to almost the exact number of t shirts, button ups and pants. Must be a formula that works!
My work clothes, easy. I get a clothing allowance, that I don't even use every year. For the last 17½ years: 1.) Socks - police issue 2.) Boots - police issue, hard wearing and last between 5-6 years, currently on pair 4, pair 5 is in waiting till my current pair are done. 3.) Police pants - Field dress (male and female pants precisely the same. Okay older and from the smallest size to two sizes bigger. I was a skinny 110Lbs at 5'8½ and gradually gained weight over the last decade. Pants size increments are 2", so from 72/79, 77/81, and now 82/81 (didn't realize the pants lengths were an option, okay and my legs love the extra inch), and I'm only 42 years old at currently 145Lbs, but was a heavy 150Lbs. Okay, I was a leggy 80-90Lbs prior to my police career. 4.) Police shirt - Field dress (dark blue /grey colour) 5.) Police baseball cap. Weight about 20Lbs. In winter and colder times my options are: 1.) Police jersey / wool v-neck pull over, almost no extra noticeable weighted 2.) Police Bunny Jacket (yes that is the name, basically a material jacket with fleasy center and 3 pockets, and a removable inner with an extra pocket), extra 2Lbs 3.) Police coat, which I call a blanket. Too hot and cumbersome with a firearm, and the hoody isn't good for anything. And weighs a good 30-40Lbs when you soaked in the rain. Extra 10Lbs dry. 4.) Rain coat, also useless, as it only keeps you dry for the first 2-5 minutes in heavy rain. Basically no weight and polyester. Kit: Firearm with extra magazine, 2Lbs Holsters, extra 1Lbs Bulletproof, extra 20Lbs Handcuffs, extra 0.5Lbs Torch, extra 1Lbs When I wear civilian wear, my outfit comes down to 2Lbs in Spring and Summer, Autumn and Winter it goes to a max of 5-7Lbs because of my trenchcoat. Civilian wear: Heavy leather trenchcoat Material trenchcoat Both in a classic design 1 pair mustard formal pants 2 pairs black formal pants 3 long sleeve sweaters in different colours to go with almost anything. 5 pairs long sleeve pull overs in different colours to fit my formal pants and jeans 4 pairs of jeans, (1 soft formal pants material, almost like a tights skinny fit, 1 button up 501 Levi - hey it was and always be my go to Levi jeans (boyfriend straight cut, 1 bootleg, 1 skinny leg hugging) 2 Jackets, one mono tone, other multi tonal jacket with lots of purple in it. 4 bags (1 so small only my cards, money and keys fits in it and purple (got to love it, and in a squeeze my phone), one oversized brown bag, one pistachio colour bag that fit my purse, purple wallet, 2 cellphones, keys, pens, router and 20000mAh powerbank, or just the purse and a full size firearm), 1 black clutch bag (tissues, 1 cellphone, router, and nothing else but a lipstick or lipgloss) 2 Backpacks, one completely purple, the other purpler with white polkadots. And for 5 days of the week, I don't need to think of what I'll be wearing unless I have something to do. 2 weeks worth of underwear 1 weeks worth of socks with my civilian wear. Need to acquire a new track pants or two, my booty isn't fitting in my old ones anymore, and I get all my jogging and steps in on a daily basis, with a good few kilometers (10km+ a day). I wish it was this easy for women to have a minimal closet. i tried to go minimalist for my wardrobe, but I made a huge mistake! I went for black and navy blue t-shirts, the problem with most dark colors is if you don't buy a very good quality, the color will fade away pretty fast after a wash or two and it's so annoying, and in my experience and the worst thing is that the quality of dark color t-shirts and even jeans don't have anything to do with the price and brand. Sometimes even the expensive ones or brand ones will disappoint you after the first or second wash...
I’ve been waiting for this video for quite a while! It made me smile that your minimalistic perspective didn’t take out colors out of your wardrobe, just like in my case!
👌👌👌 great video, I like how you say that this wardrobe works for you and might not be appropriate for others. My husband, Daniel 😉 works from home and used to go on international business trips. At home he is in t-shirts and hoodies and jeans, but for business trips he takes shirts. He has a minimal amount of clothes, he actually needs a new pair of jeans but we are under lockdown so he will wait until the shops reopen. I have been getting rid of clothes that I just don't wear, I like the idea of dressing smartly, but most days it's just not me.
Can you do a minimalistic style outfits every month? Or something on a regular base? I really love the way you pick the outfits! Can you also maybe style some Chelsea black boots in a minimalistic way?
Hi Daniel! Will you make a Canada-based version of this video? I think it’s interesting to know how your wardrobe had adjusted now that you live in a different climate.
Great video , im cobsiderg becoming a minimalist myself, I know it doesn't hold all of life's answers , however I do feel as if it will help me become better organized and more aware to the clutter in my life

2.) Police Bunny Jacket (yes that is the name, basically a material jacket with fleasy center and 3 pockets, and a removable inner with an extra pocket), extra 2Lbs

When I wear civilian wear, my outfit comes down to 2Lbs in Spring and Summer, Autumn and Winter it goes to a max of 5-7Lbs because of my trenchcoat.
Civilian wear:
Heavy leather trenchcoat
Material trenchcoat
Both in a classic design
1 pair mustard formal pants
2 pairs black formal pants
3 long sleeve sweaters in different colours to go with almost anything.
5 pairs long sleeve pull overs in different colours to fit my formal pants and jeans
4 pairs of jeans, (1 soft formal pants material, almost like a tights skinny fit, 1 button up 501 Levi - hey it was and always be my go to Levi jeans (boyfriend straight cut, 1 bootleg, 1 skinny leg hugging)
2 Jackets, one mono tone, other multi tonal jacket with lots of purple in it.
4 bags (1 so small only my cards, money and keys fits in it and purple (got to love it, and in a squeeze my phone), one oversized brown bag, one pistachio colour bag that fit my purse, purple wallet, 2 cellphones, keys, pens, router and 20000mAh powerbank, or just the purse and a full size firearm), 1 black clutch bag (tissues, 1 cellphone, router, and nothing else but a lipstick or lipgloss)
2 Backpacks, one completely purple, the other purpler with white polkadots.
So, I'll grab either the pistachio or purple bag for my daily duties.
And for 5 days of the week, I don't need to think of what I'll be wearing unless I have something to do.
2 weeks worth of underwear
1 weeks worth of socks with my civilian wear.
Need to acquire a new track pants or two, my booty isn't fitting in my old ones anymore, and I get all my jogging and steps in on a daily basis, with a good few kilometers (10km+ a day). So do I call it resistance working with all that weight on me.
