      I would advise yall to go back and listen to LL's first 3 albums...he was a lyrical beast, check out You'll Rock and can't live without my radio...but You'll Rock remember he was only 16-17 when it was made and if u really know abt being lyrical LL is ahead by a slim margin...at that time but I'm not taking one thing away from Kane, the man is top flight no matter who he's up against

    As an emcee-Kane. As an artist-LL. I think the margin that LL has over Kane is much greater than the margin Kane has over LL as an emcee. LL ain't no fucking slouch! And Uncle L has proven that he can adapt to the times 🤷🏾‍♂️

    Big Daddy Kane is one of my favorites of all time, but when I started listening to hip hop, 1984~1985 LL Cool J was untouchable. Both for their own reasons.

    I love both them brothers but LL dropped the GOAT when he wasn’t even in his prime. With Kane I would have loved to see advance out of that decade of hiphop like LL did. That’s what got me to say LL, he has no limits.

But before they were the Beastie Boys it was MCA and Bizuty (I spelled that wrong) and the two of them did a song on Def Jam Records before Run DMC sign to Def Jam. I have the album on the original purple Def Jam label. I'll find it and let you know the name of the song so you can listen to it. It was one of the first Def Jam songs I had ever heard. This was before even LL Cool J. You'll get a kick out of hearing some of the original Def Jam songs. Good times.

    Why did they skip adding the points for Ludacris and Treach saying LL? I know Treach then said "both" but he said LL first and Ludacris CLEARLY picked LL. 🤷🏽‍♂️ either way Kane won the votes there 5 to 4....my pick is LL without question. I love Kane but LL was so much more versatile and that is what I appreciate and hold high in my MC qualities.

    l am a big fan of both and its LL all day. Kane was the man from like 1988 to like 1991 after that he fell off. Now let go to LL 1984 to 2010 you can't touch his run

      Thank you! I been saying and thinking the same thing and this is also why other rappers tried to claim he was too commercial at one time. it's easier for brothers to root for those they can emulate in some sense but when they look at LL's muscles, energy and the Love he gets from the ladies, subconsciously they know they can't even begin to level up so they low key hate on him. Kane is great but he's just another fish in the sea of Mc's, LL is a Whale in a sea of fish, LL is a legend and Rap Icon, the GOAT and my favorite rapper. For a teenage boy 3 yrs his junior he was like a super hero and rapper combined he is one of the many muscular 80's icons who inspired me to be lean and muscular to this day at 53yrs old.

    What separates LL from Kane is, he is multi-talented. He's not only spitting but he came with the smoother R&B shit that was believable. After that everybody wanted some R&B/Rap Radio hit.

    Both, but you have to choose one & I will tell you this with no hesitation there is no way in the world I would pick Kane over LL, LL is the Goat for a reason if you want to go off of lyrical ability alone I will tell you LL lyric for lyric can stand with anybody but here’s where nobody is paying attention, that’s not the only criteria the brother had, LL could flat out right hits/songs LL at times wasn’t even competing against other Rappers this dude was competing against R&B, Rock & love ballads you can’t name another Rapper with a catalog like his he stands alone & let’s go battle to his battle raps, they talk about Kendrick Lamar’s dis track was the first to become a hit and go world wide !!! They lied because Moma said knock you out was years before that and that song was every where stop the cap 🧢
