It's so weird to know that he had less that 24 hours. He was definitely one of the greatest voices in the industry. It was a really shame that he didn't believe that. You are still missed Michael.

he and Paula (who also had a suicide attempt in August of 97) were going through hell from the british press and legal problems
Read the police statement of Paula Yates and Belinda Brewin. Before changing her mind and supporting the kinky death nonsense that the press were pushing, Paula was furious that people suggested he died that way. She said Bob "killed my baby" meaning drove him to suicide and saying "he snapped from 3 years of torment". She had to change her story later to avoid a slander suit from Bob and his powerful lawyers, for calling Bob a murdrer.,
Michael also had previous suicide attempts - one in n Los Angelos a few weeks prior. He wanted it to appear as an accidental drowning so wanted first to be filmed looking happy before overdosing on valium in the bathtub. In LA he woke up but had deep burns on his fingers from a cigarette burning down while he was unconscious. You can see photos of him on Nov 5th dancing and looking happy at the Viper club, just before he had the suicide attempt in LA.
On Nov 22nd he tried this again and that's why the tub was full of water and why people who talked to him a few hours before he was found dead - but several hours after he talked to Paula and Bob, said he sounded sleepy. The coroner found he had enough valium to kill a horse. The cocaine was a trace amount and if it was cocaine, had to be consumed at least 48 hrs prior (see Kym WIlson article - I saw Michael Hanging" - she talks about visions and what the coroner really said)
Paula's police statement (Police Statement of Paula Yates online) she said that bob agreed on Nov 4 for them to try a visit to Australia for a few months before and after Xmas.
The coroner report (also online) said he saw a therapist after he had a breakdown on October 17th.
So he goes to LA - doesn't have to be there - and presumably knows that only his death will keep Paula from taking the kids out of school and stop her from threatening to kill herself if she didn't stay in England and marry him - as she was witnessed doing frequently.
Later some haters would say it from a heroin overdose that he burnt his fingers, but the coroner pathology goes back 6 months and he didn't have heroin in him. They also investigated his other medical records and that's how they knew the cuts on his fingers (can be seen in the last rehearsal bandaged up) were from burns a few weeks prior.
Michael was in deep thought 💭 prior to singing this song! He looked upset 😢 RIP MICHAEL HUTCHENSE

Micheal was one of those singers that made it look easy. I miss his music, wish he was still around could you only imagine the great music he would be doing today, also I love the Farris brothers (forgive me if I spelled that incorrectly) The drummer is just awesome in his own right, he's a but underrated, he was great, he still is great

Love them all so much! This video footage is precious as it's our last moments of Michael. At the same time, it's heartbreaking to watch because it almost seems like Michael was a bit manic, as if trying to mask the sorrow deep inside of him. Some spoke of him being in high spirits, but I see a young man trying too hard to convince others that he was "up" and not "down". Hind sight is 20/20, I realize. Thank you for posting this video. ✌️
He was overdoing it with Prozac according to the coroner reports and their research into his medical history.
He as severelly depressed and was determined to not return to England. Friend Catherine Meyer said he called her a few days before he passed "crying so hard I could barely make out what he was saying. Going on about relentless press and legal problems"
He renewed his Prozac only a month before and was back in therapy on Dec 17th, 3 days after Duran2 made that horrible song "Michael you have a lot to answer for". Last year they said it was about drugs, but that's a lie. Its talks nothing of drugs but has lyrics saying Michael should "stop wanting to be" !!! (kid you not) and that he shouldn't want to be involved in someone else's war. Interviews at the time it was released, they said it was because they supported Geldof and thought Michael shouldn't be helping Paula. After they were criticized for driving Michael into a deeper depression after he took his life, they tried to say it was a fan song!

The Aussie show was the last leg of it then he was going to enjoy Christmas with his daughter. The bad news that he wasn't crushed an already depressed man. He rang his manager and stated on the voice machine he couldn't take it anymore.

My love Forever, great voice, movements, dance on stage, he feels music with whole being, beautiful hair, eyes, Lipps, Smile, body was so amazing , very rarely such talent, person. It’s such a tragedy that Michael is gone. It’s obvious here that Michael still had plans for his future. He just got stuck in a moment while heavily intoxicated and did it. Had he not been intoxicated, had someone been there, had he fallen asleep or any other number of things - he would still be here today. I don’t believe he was suicidal, he just made a mistake while out of his mind. That’s why getting out of your mind is so dangerous - no telling what someone can do while not thinking rationally. Upsetting news while in this state then doing something that is irreversible. Sad.

totally agree..l just watched "Mistify" and l felt so sad for him..l wish that accident in Denmark had never happened..
I don't think he intended to die that morning at all, He had layers and layers of drugs in his system, it was a mistake. Based upon his having run the bathtub, I think it makes sense that he was instead out of it and doing that risky sex act and messed it up, by accident because his mind was not working right. I base this upon doctors saying this was possible.
@@janebraun4482 where do you get your info? He didn't have layers and layers of drugs in him per the Coroner. A few prescribed meds certainly not lethal quantities.
MICHAEL really looks very tired and worried abt a lot of bad things happening in his life. Drinking and smoking too much. But still a great and strong voice and a very kind and humble singer! He is coughing a lot!

Oh yes this blindingly light that shined so brilliantly is so sorely missed. So flipping glad he's out of his pain from yhe TBI. He had no nobody to help him, so sad 😭
The worst thing he ever did was to accept a seduction from Paula.Yates. He needed proper psychiatric help and personal support after suffering an aquired head injury. Instead he was trapped in a web trap set by P.Y. who had persued him since 1985.
He was meant for greater things. I feel sorry for his.family. R.I.P. M.H

***PLEASE READ***Michael had a TBI. They are devastating. They effect a lot of areas of your life. Your sense of self, behavior, nerves, emotions. Increase sensitivity to a lot of things. Lights, noises, crowds. You get bad headaches, depression, PTSD, aggression.You become "filterless", angry, apathetic and so on. It is mentioned in Mystify the movie but they just speak his lack of smell and taste. I caught his sister in an interview and she explained it much better. So much to be learned about them. (I have one as well) Michael is actually doing rather well here, considering. I wish he had disclosed the TBI. People may have understood more. Bless him.

Best band ever. Still remember seeing them at a Pub in Bankstown with about 15 patrons early 80's. Continued to go to gigs all over NSW before they hit the big time. Biggest loss to Australian Music . Inxs still the best..

Whatever the conversation between him and Bob Geldof threw him over the side is irrelevant. Michael, didn't want to be a marriage breaker. Paula caused that by getting pregnant and trapping him. Well documented.
I have to disagree with this.. I have two kids with two different dads and also have to laugh... For other reasons at this comment. I was married to my first son's dad... His name is Bob... I left him. Put the wedding ring on the counter. Said in my heart I'm done. Not married anymore. It's only on paper... A year later, not divorced yet from Bob... Pregnant by my second son's dad who's name really is Mike... But the divorce papers were not yet signed by Bob who waited the full 4&1/2 to sign the papers. So I didn't HAVE to still be legally married, but I was and in retrospect was pretty much trying to show through my actions because words didn't work that I was moving on. It honestly wasn't me trying to to trap myself with the next guy, but just set myself free from the first... Also not done purposely... My brother's name is Paul.. never noticed the thing with the names til this quarantine..lol.. however the boys have fairly common names... Ryan and Shane... My own last name was long enough. I wanted them to have simple names..

She was so determined to get him that she got herself pregnant within a couple of months of their seeing one another. She caught him in her web with a baby and wouldn't let him go.

@@maryr130 It was big in the 90s, half of us were on it at one time or another, Any drug for depression etc, you need to be carefully followed by a dr. as sometimes these drugs do not work. Drs. also need to offer their tel no. in case you have a crisis, or are that patient who might get suicidal all of a sudden. Serious stuff,

THIS is so wonderful! Many thanks to whoever posted the 'last rehearsal'. Still so sad. Their music sounded GREAT here! I have never seen them live. I'm going to have to invest in some of their music. Still wonder...did he really do himself in, due to possible hallucinations of some type with the drug combination, or, did he really feel that his life was that dismal. Hard to imagine, but look at Robin Williams, for instance. It's all so sad!
No, based upon some doctors speaking about the layers of drugs, cocaine drinking all night long, etc. it appears he did not really intend to die, and that he ran the bath suggests maybe he even was doing that risky sex act before the bath and was not functional and messed up. I really think so, for this is all that makes sense.

Michael sadly covering the burns on his fingers with tape. The same burns referred to in the coroners inquiry, when bombed out on drugs. Very sad. Will always love INXS but in truth, they don't look happy here. Something is strained. There is underlying friction here.
Tim said in a filmed interview he and Michael had an argument prior to arriving in Australia and it remained unresolved. Something Tim said he will always regret. They weren't on good terms when he died. So sad.

Hard to believe it was the next morning , Michael took his life.. was it the argument with Bob Geldof, not being able to see his little girl, Paula ???.. although I question how happy he was with her. He looks tired but not as though he was planning a suicide .
It was the touring he didn't want to do it. It's wAs too hard for him and bob trying to protect his kids from what he thought was a drug situation. But in the end he took the little girl in who would do that a kind and compassionate person.
He looked Agitated and a bit manic. When he said "DO YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN BABE " to the backing singers. Even the Gutarist at the end where the video stops looks at him bewildered. I think Michael was high on something. I read somewhere he didn't want to go on Tour. We will never know what really happened in that Hotel room. RIP MICHAEL 💖

I recall that She actually ORIGINALLY was adamantly against the autoerotic rumor. She was recorded threatening to sue magazine (Q) saying he wasn't into S&m, strangulation or sex clubs. She originally said she blamed Bob calling Bob a monster and saying "Michael snapped under 3 years of pressure" (to reporters on Nov 22 97).
Afterwards she lied and went along with it. Rumors were she did this either for insurance that doesn't usually pay out in the case of suicide. By the time she did this, she was friends with Michael's shady financial person, Colin Diamond by then, even making Diamond TIger's Godfather. He would have been the person overseeing any insurance policies. The other rumor was Bob had threatened her with a slander suit for calling him a murdered in the press.
Later she lied and said there was semen on his leg - there wasn't, said she was challenging the coroner report, she never did as Michael's father found out. Another lie that the police refuted was that she yelled at them in a restaurant that she and Michael were into all sorts of tying up stuff.
I think the having to lie for whatever reason, along with losing Michael is what caused Paula to try and hang herself a few months after Micheal died and caused her mental break downs.
I see a perfectionist , chain smoker but certainly NOT a guy who will commit suicide. I agree with Paula....no way he killed himself ; certainly accidental.
Who gives a shit if he did? Suicide is nothing to cause shame and says nothing about a person's character. Bottom line is the guy died and it's a tragedy, regardless of circumstance.

I don't think he killed himself. Not him. He was smarter than that. It was an accident from all the stuff he took for his depression that built up through out the years that amounted closer to his end.
