@@Sam_ijbol , I have a master's degree in English (not bragging, it's context for what I want to say), and my rhetoric and composition professors emphasized the concept of "code switching" and different codes and dialects in English.
The only people who speak formal Standard English in the home are usually wealthy, nondisabled white people who come from generations of college education.
Most other people do not speak or write in formal Standard English in their day-to-day lives, and only switch into a formal "code" for formal situations, like work or school or a court case.
When I see people "correcting" other people's grammar in an informal setting like RUclips, I know that they probably have no education in English rhetoric and composition behind the high school/secondary level or else they would have learned that shaming people for speaking informally in an informal setting is just classist and ableist and all sorts of bigoted and gross.
We should praise people for being able to communicate what they want to say in a manner appropriate for the context.

Kornbread is naturally funny af. I've seen her in other stuff outside drag race and she is that good.
She makes good tv and her interactions with the girls and her friendship and concern for Willow was so genuine and kind. To me, Kornbread for sure for SURE had everything to win it
Tbh she’s kind of toxic, yes she makes good tv, and she did have iconic moments (ex. “My ankle, my ankle, my…ankle.”) but she was kind of mean to everyone besides willow which is toxic behavior, especially Jasmine

Shangela really is such great TV that I will be happy as hell if they find a way to get her back for more, I don't care how they do it My fave "Shangela is producing the damn show" moment would easily be her intentionally waiting backstage during Divas Live rehearsals so she could enter a full minute after everyone else and play up the Mariah-isms to the hilt. Knowing she was prepared to piss off the producers in the moment because she knew it'd be a great moment when the show aired is absolutely brilliant

I think the issue with Silky was that.. you could clock that she was putting on an act.
The others, like Shangela, Kornbread, Kandy, you could believe that they acted like this *outside* of the show, while someone like Silky and Laganja, you felt it was an act.
I honestly think that Kandy did everything that Silky was trying to do.
That moment with Miley Cyrus was just too much.

That was how I took it all as well. I like both of them now having grown and shown who they actually are not the character but the try hard turned me off.
and honestly in as6 you could see her personality growing as she started winning lipsyncs and i started to remember why i don't like her
edit or not, I hated every moment that silky was on camera. She's the reason I'll never rewatch season 11, it was a pain getting through it once
I would love to see a video on openly disabled / chronically ill queens.
Yvie Oddly representing the Ehlers-Danlos zebras and chronic pain gang.
Her daughter, Willow Pill, representing people with cystinosis.
Both of them repping the "diagnosed with a degenerative and incurable illness at a young age" crew, and both show how those of us born disabled or disabled young can have an intense drive to succeed and live because we know our lives are going to be short.
HoSo Terra Toma from Dragula representing the immunosuppressed and cancer survivors, literally naming herself after her tumor and doing an amazing cancer look that made the pain and confusion of the cancer experience into art.
All of the HIV+ queens (Ongina, Trinity K Bonett, etc.).
All of the queens recovering from addictions (Jinx, Baga Chipz, Katya).
And Jinx is also outspoken about her mental health, and was very open about her narcolepsy on her original season.

Too many newer queens. Missing Adore, ALYSSA, Bianca who basically wrote her own role into S6 and should basically have honorary producer credits. Not a fan but she’s a genius.
Bianca basically forced production to bend to her will, and it's something I don't think any other queen can do.

Silky is also like hella fucking nice in person, I met her when she came to one of the shows I was performing in and she was so gracious and fun
For me Shangela, Jinkx, Adore, Bianca, Katya, Vanjie....Miss Vanjie.....Miss..... Vanjie, Tayce, Mo, Kornbread and Denali are queens who literally don't even have to do much and they will have a major list of iconic moments and quotes.

I’m thinking about queens like Kandy Ho, Dax Exclamation Point or Mercedes Iman, who were maybe not giving what producers were expecting them to.
Plastique Tiara would be a good choice imo. I know she's a popular queen and she's done well for herself after the show but the producers clearly wanted her to be a major frontrunner for S11 but she just lacked a personality fit for television and she underperformed in most of the challenges.

I noticed that a lot of the queens who get criticized by either the fans, the judges, or both for being "mean" or "low energy" are often disabled or have chronic health conditions.
Willam has said many times that queens were not given enough food to eat on set and that she got in trouble for using her own money to buy and give it to other contestants.
Jasmine Masters has also stated that she brought her own food to set after hearing horror stories about the contestants not being fed enough by producers (the answer to the question "Where did you get a loaf of bread?").
They can get away with this because reality TV show contestants in the US are not protected as employees under Title I of the ADA. They are contestants, not employees, so the show has no obligation to provide reasonable accommodations.
So maybe Daya was cranky because her blood sugar was off because the show wouldn't let her eat what she needed to maintain her insulin levels.

I just finished rewatching UK 2, and I think Tayce could totally make the list. The way he would look at the camera was like he was bypassing production and talking right to us, but not in a direct Mo Heart "Facts are facts America" type of way. The first time I really realized what he was doing was when he and A'Whora were talking to Ru in the werkoom about Lawrence. The way he was looking at Lawrence, I wouldn't have been surprised if the camera zoomed in on him for a breaking the 4th wall type of moment because he was subtlety making it the Tayce show, whether production realized it or not.

For Silky, I kinda agree that the editing could have been nicer about her. Eureka in S9 was said to be annoying in the werkroom, but they didn't show it, the producers only show her drama moment (with Charlie and Trinity) which is as a spectator much more interesting.
Season 10, we were in the "meme queen era" (with the miss Vanjie, Brown Cow Stunning, SpongeBob).
I'm sure Silky arrived at S11 and was like "I'm gonna make my TV time and be the meme queen" and so she does...but she goes extra and stupid. Since the start, her mind was set on "the one who is the loudest get the more screen time".
Silky is an example of "doing to much to get screentime", she had all the element to be a "TV moment queen" but if it's not genuine and from herself you while just be classify as annoying.
the final part certainly applies to ariel versace, a contestant from season 11
I think Awhora was good example of playing both the drama and the fun up for the camera (The Cobrah). I wish there wasnt a fandom around this show so we can get gag worthy moments like s2-s6 again.
I will NEVER unsee the Shangela VS Mimi moment again. I replayed in slow motion about 7 times and showed my boyfriend. “look at the lemons” ffffffffff my childhood is ruined lol
I think in Drag Race Spain the best queen suited for TV was definitely Juriji der Klee: she knew exactly what to do in order to get that camera time stirring the pot every single occasion and she kinda became the main character of the season because it was clear she was picking on Marina and Drag Sethlas just for the screen.

Willam would straight-up tell the cameramen where to stand to catch her as she delivers a moment! I don’t remember where she mentioned it, but she blocked out the “Nurse!” moment that way. Alexis Michelle might be the producer but Willam is the director.
now that canada vs the world has started airing, i’m so thrilled that silky has found the perfect happy medium between what she did on s11 and as6. she’s been wildly entertaining and ridiculously fun to watch so far, and we’re only 2 episodes in!! i’m so hyped to continue watching what she does, she’s shown so much growth, you love to see it.

You right because Silky is the nicest person I’ve had the privilege to know. It’s sad that there is hate for her. She runs our lights at the club when she visits and helps all the local queens out. Most times she doesn’t even perform, she just wanted to come help and support us. She’s a dear friend to everyone at the club and I will always defend her ❤
