In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose. Bose was one of the greatest Indian Scientist who simultaneously was a biologist, physicist, botanist and an early writer of science fiction. Bose started his career with research in the area of radio and microwave optics. He made significant contributions to plant science, and laid the foundations of experimental science in the Indian subcontinent. In 2012 IEEE named him one of the fathers of radio science. He also invented Crescograph, a device for measuring the growth of plants. He founded one of the oldest research institute of India, Bose Institute that was established in 1917.
