    Tarikh Episode 70
In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about Indian born Astrophysicist S Chandrasekhar. At the age of 20 in 1930, Chandrashekhar calculated the theoretical limit of the mass of white dwarf stars which is approximately equals 1.44 solar masses. He received the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1983, jointly with William A. Fowler. He was also the nephew of Prof. C. V. Raman who also won the Nobel Prize in 1930. In the same year Chandrashekhar went to Cambridge for further studies but got disheartened when the scientific community led by legendary astrophysicist Sir Arthur Eddington rejected his research and he left the field. Watch complete video to know more about the racial and colonial bias shown towards Chandrashekhar by scientists in Britain.
