- Greensboro officer killed at Sheetz in Colfax | An off-duty Greensboro police sergeant is dead after a shooting at the Sheetz on Sandy Ridge Road in Colfax Saturday afternoon, according to police.
Greensboro police said they have confirmed they're looking into suspects tied to the shooting. Earlier in the day, the North Wilkesboro Police Department said the suspects had been caught. GPD confirmed with us there is still an active search and can't confirm the suspects were arrested.
Around 4:00 p.m., Greensboro police said the suspects left the Sheetz headed westbound on I-40 West, driving a black Chevrolet Equinox with the NC plate KKA-4332. The car also has a Hertz Car Sales plate on the front. Investigators believe the suspects are in their early to mid-20s. One suspect is wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants, black shoes, and green/gray toboggan. The other suspect is wearing a jean jacket with fur and gray sweatpants, with tennis shoes.

Condolences to his family and friends
I’m gonna guess when they are caught, they will have long criminal history.
So often this happens at a gas station! I'm wondering if he had his own gun but couldn't get it out in time? Also - there was another cop on site. Society is breaking down!
Gotta believe there a camera somewhere that recorded the bad guys...
I hate to say it but the way things are in this country, it's going to get worse before it gets better!

The 4 Star officer delivered his words with most sincere and respectful to the family and fellow officers and were in keeping with the highest traditions of law enforcement service.

I'll let you know what happens..........tooooooo many angry people, who are ready to snap at any moment..........they aren't afraid of the cops anymore.............nor do they respect the cops anymore.

I am a mother and niece of police officers. I always pray God wraps his body of armor around each and every officer on and off duty that are at risk everyday doing their job to protect the public so it’s at a heavy heart when one of our family is killed . My condolences to his family . May God be with you all in this time of great sadness .
