Very cool performances. Great to see Peter singing Hooligan! Cracks me up that so many fans of Ace pronounce his last name like "freely" when he has said many times it's pronounced FRAY-lee. Bumblefoot does it here. Oh well.
@@thebeatlemaniaxusa4500 I'm guessing you're referring to the intro to Shock Me? I disagree. To be fair, it's a bit of both the way Paul says it. But I'd suggest you go and find the behind the scenes stuff to the Unplugged show. When Ace walks into the rehearsal studio for the first time, Gene says "Fray-lee!!!" It's also spelled out phonetically in the G. Gordon Gebert book about Ace, who was apparently his good buddy for many years. And Ace says it that way. My guess is that Ace knows how to pronounce it.
3 of the views are mine. So far... This is so freaking great!!! If Ace and Peter had a band, what could they call it? Kiss Off Hooligan Black Diamond Strange Ways
Is the guitarist on the right, Todd Youth? He was a member of Ace's solo band around this time. Scott Ian & the bassist from Anthrax I recognize. Anyway Todd Youth was a founding member of both NYHC legends Agnostic Front & Murphy's Law & was in Ace's band a few years back.
I have recently rediscovered this song as I started playing my guitar along with the old KISS albums. Those first 6 albums were the best!! 7 if you include Alive. Although you can hear a definite change in their playing styles by the time you get to Rock and Roll Over. The first 3 albums were way more blues based than anything else they put out, and a lot more fun to play I might add! There is just something special about those first three albums specifically. Even though Destroyer opened up the KISS audience I also feel it created the issues that would eventually lead to the breaking up of the band. Paul and Gene liked the new territory that Destroyer took them into and it gave them, and Peter, a big head. I don't think Ace changed at all, even Paul says that Ace did not grow as guitar player. While Paul is saying that in a more insulting, but still he was right, manner I think he was also more meaning that after Destroyer the band should have changed it's style while Ace was perfectly fine with playing the same style. If you listen to any of his solo stuff Ace pretty much plays the same type of music. He did venture a little more in the 80's, some of his solo's were definitely his attempt at being more of that decades style of guitar work, which I did not care for. The solo's Ace did in KISS up to Love Gun were very cool, no he was not a shredder type guitar player, thank God! But his solo's have character and almost take on a voice type of effect if you listen to them and I love playing along with his solo's but you better be real good at Vibrato's and bends if you are going to keep up with the spaceman! lol. That darn Bass player needs to stop standing right in front of Peter. At first I thought maybe he was helping Peter stay in time but after awhile you can tell Peter is not even really looking at him. I bet Peter was actually getting annoyed by the dipshit standing right directly in front of him staring at him while he was playing, I think Pete should have tossed a stick at his head lol. Love her all I can seems like an odd choice to me, it must have been a request from Eddie? I mean why play a song that neither one of the KISS guys sang? If they were looking for a more upbeat tune like love her all I can but one that one of them was the original singer why not play Getaway? Mainline? Anyway, it's early in the morning and the caffeine kicked in, as you can tell! lol
Shame he is a complete dick to fans ! I have personally had shitty experiences with him and heard countless stories of his shitty attitude. Great guitar player though !
The people knockin’ Bello for having his back turned are hilarious. He’ s playing with a hero of his, Peter Criss and you think he’s not going to be looking at him?! Plus he knows the crowd is also looking at Peter and Ace so he’s just enjoying the fantasy come to life. It was meant to be a party not a serious show. But he could at least get out of the way so the audience could see Peter not to mention the basic player is playing everything in the wrong key. Anthrax member are not. Playing the song wrong is playing the song wrong no matter who you are

Peter should have sang more of the songs Gene did. Honestly, Peter should have put the sticks down and picked up a guitar or something. He should have been more out front and singing while playing takes a lot from what a drummer needs to do. Hooligan, Baby Driver, Stange ways.. Peter crushed the heavier songs he sang. Gene’s croaking background vocals on strange ways is the worst part of it. lol I think the success of softer songs like Beth and maybe Hard Luck Woman messed up his head a bit. His solo stuff was way too tame for him. Not that he didn’t kill on those songs, but a better mix of some heavy tunes would have made his stuff much better.

And NEVER stand directly in front of the performer being showcased singer, blocking the entire house’s view of Peter. Besides, we know Peter doesn’t take kindly to bandmates getting in his space.
