When he was talking about how as a kid looking through the windows on a trip to the Swiss alps it made me realize how no car today can come close to the perfect road trip car as these vw vans did
You seem to be a big fan of American Pickers and know the ins and outs of values.I just watch because Mike, Rob,Frank and Danny seem so genuine and nice.I've watched so many episodes some 2 and 3 times the guys seem like family.

Restored, 1 went for just over $200k and one went for $300k.

Those buses were sold before they left the guys property for a major profit. You can count on it.

Back in the 90s in California they were flattened alot of these at the wreckers, or selling them cheap .

I just was up there talking to him walking around his property today awesome guy and he's not trying to get top dollar just trying to re-home what's left
all you guys are saying that they ripped him off, I would love to see you guys dump 40 grand into just buying them. That doesn't include shipping them add 3 grand, paying a guy to fix them with correct museum quality parts that's where you get the most money for them that easily as low as 40 and as high as 70 grand. the guys will have over 100 grand invested in the 3 vans how many of you would dump that much money into 3 vans that have been sitting outside in the elements, rust is everywhere, parts are nearly impossible to find especially for the 23 window, they are not making a Bunch of money off these vans. they couldn't have gone much higher because mike is looking at the big picture.
Exactly what I was about to say. Everybody knows how much these buses are worth restored, but everyone seems to forget that that price is for full professional restorations and what those cost.

Personally, I was thinking 10 grand for every car in the barn. They don't run, they haven't ran in 30 years, parts are very rare. The amount of money to restore the vehicles could be astronomical if floor pans are bad, rust is not a good wallet saver

Vandalized or stolen? NOPE. Not a person knows they are there for the past 30 years and they and all the other machines on that property won't be bothered for another 30 years....GORGEOUS MACHINES.

The reason the seller was selling is because his property recently got ravaged, his property was vandalized and items were stolen. He can’t maintain the place so he wants to sell instead of his stuff getting stolen.

A good bus restoration is a six figure endeavor. Not many wanting to shell that out. The 23 window was in bad shape.

Remember this is tv most of these shows are set up in advance before they arrive. They have to ship them and put a ton of money in them just to get them running and driving. Maybe they did give him more or they didn't .

If i am a seller of a vintage or prehistoric cars.... im going to sell to the right people not just for only a collection.... its a matter of loving the history, loving the car and to show all the people and to the world that this car are still exist....
