This is a makeup ARTIST! Not just some youtuber who sits and does her makeup with just music in the background. She actually sits and instrusts and teaches you tips and tricks on how to make makeup apply easier and faster and flawless. She does it in such a thoughtful way cause I dont think young girls know how to bake and do a perfect winged eyeliner on the first try but Jaclyn is so sweet and like I dont know how to decribe it but she understands how most young girls start out in makeup, and I really respect her for that. Jaclyn doesnt have to go into such great detail on her looks but she does to give us the full impact of what she's doing. I have complete mad respect for this woman.

I get what you mean when you say this is her channel, but it's also her job. This is how she makes money. This is how she gets to make and sell makeup with companies, this is how her livelihood has been created. It's because of the people who watch her videos that she gets to do what she does. If you want to be the best creator of content you can be, it's GOOD to listen to complaints from the people who make you money, especially when it's not just one or two people, but hundreds with the same complaints. You have to balance doing what you want to do with catering to whatever gives you a livelihood.

Thanks for the support ladies! I've been a follower of her for 5 years and I can definitely see the progression from her in her first videos till now. And she gets a lot of hate for it and I don't think she understands why because really her personality quirks haven't changed it's just the delivery of her content has. Because the beauty community has become soooo large since I first started watching...you can look up any "makeup tutorial" and see what products they used....but Jaclyn used to be soooo great and giving us techniques for when we were actually applying the makeup!
I think Jaclyn's at her best when she does tutorials. When she focuses on technique, tips and tricks and purely on how to do makeup, without playing up her persona for the camera. And her makeup here is great too, with the done up eyes but simple brows lips and highlight- just more subtle, real and less instagram-y.
You're the first beauty guru on RUclips that I've seen who has actually taught me something about makeup! I didn't know that depending on the brush color of the hair is used for different things ! Thanks so much love you ❤.
Tal Wall just a little tip, it's not the color of the hair its the hair type. natural hair brushes like goat, squirrel, horse etc. are usually white/tan sometimes black and are better for blending and powders. synthetic hair brushes are usually black, Greg, colorful etc. are better for packing on powder and for creams. hope that helps!
Tal Wall I agree! I think a lot of youtubers don't explain too much in depth they only say "I'm doing this and this" but not "why". The purpose of their videos is "how to", that's what tutorial means and I think it includes explaining, giving tips on what works for who etc., it's not just a look for themselves. Thats what I always loved about Jaclyn's videos. I learned so much from her!

I can't believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How often I tried a smokey eye and everytime it lookes like sh***! For years!!! With this tutorial I finally managed it! The first try was so good, I think when I do it even more and learn a bit, then it will be perfect! THANK YOUUUUUUU!!!!
What I tell clients is that whenever you're trying a technique is to do it at night when you're gonna be washing your face anyway. You can start fresh or work on top of a natural/minimal look you might have had during the day and work on top of that. That way yoy can practice and if it looks like shit you're washing it off anyway! And you can forgrt it even looked bad. You can see what works and what doesn't.

Its Just Mars same here! I have a few of their palettes and a ton of their brushes. The shadows are good and the brushes work great. all of my brushes have been washedany many times and are perfect. I don't think they shed or scratch.

I love these more in depth tutorials. Reminds me of some of your old videos from a long time ago! I like hearing more about specific techniques than always seeing a full face of makeup from beginning to end.

I just want to tell you thank you. I'll be 45 in a week and I'm a baby when it comes to makeup. I've always had beautiful skin and color but I've been super sick the last 3 years. My skin is taking a beating from my illness and medications. And I no longer feel beautiful. I'm determined to fix this and I know makeup will be a big help. Finally! Lately I've been watching makeup tutorials just because they're calming to watch. This video reminded me that I used to watch these to actually do them at home. Lately gurus come up with the craziest makeup looks that take 50 brushes and products, no ordinary person would actually follow the tutorial. But this, I can totally use!!

80% of my brush collection is Morphe. They're the best brushes I've ever used, awesome quality, and the price is great. Like I don't understand the hate. I love morphe brushes. The eyeshadows aren't my favorite, but those brushes are bomb. If she's getting paid by a brand she truly does believe, honestly power to her. Y'all need to love yourselves and others and stop giving hate. I swear.

I love that you use mascara on the bottom lashes! Mine are incredibly long and I used to think that they looked horrible, but now that I accepted them, I love them. I also liked that you mentioned that falsies wee optional. I usually can't use falsies because my actual lashes are soooo long that my eyes would look odd if I used them. I love the technique. ro0o0o0o0 It takes a SHIT TON of practice. I have been doing makeup for almost 10 years and I still can't do eyebrow and winged liner. And I'm still mastering the smokey eye.
Blend more and make sure your using those transition colours. And practice! Try this look a few times just sitting at home over a week or two, I'm sure you'll get better at it!
The struggle is real. I hardly ever wear make up and every time I did/do everyone makes such a big deal of it that I feel ridiculous and don't wear it again for a while, but I would like to, just once in my life, have my guy speechless or pull that jaw dropping wow from him. I guess I'll invest in make up wipes and sit in front of the mirror this weekend. Practice makes perfect right?

I'm not sure that I have any interest in investing in any Morphe eyeshadows. My eye shadow collection is already pretty massive lol. But I could always use more brushes. Are they worth the hype? Particularly the eye brushes? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated :)
katie lynn. Not a fan of Morphe brushes to be honest. Save and invest in Sigma or MAC brushes. They're so worth it. My Morphe brushes just collect dust.

Thanks for the support ladies! I've been a follower of her for 5 years and I can definitely see the progression from her in her first videos till now. And she gets a lot of hate for it and I don't think she understands why because really her personality quirks haven't changed it's just the delivery of her content has. Because the beauty community has become soooo large since I first started watching...you can look up any "makeup tutorial" and see what products they used....but Jaclyn used to be soooo great and giving us techniques for when we were actually applying the makeup!
I think Jaclyn's at her best when she does tutorials. When she focuses on technique, tips and tricks and purely on how to do makeup, without playing up her persona for the camera. And her makeup here is great too, with the done up eyes but simple brows lips and highlight- just more subtle, real and less instagram-y.

Tal Wall just a little tip, it's not the color of the hair its the hair type. natural hair brushes like goat, squirrel, horse etc. are usually white/tan sometimes black and are better for blending and powders. synthetic hair brushes are usually black, Greg, colorful etc. are better for packing on powder and for creams. hope that helps!
Tal Wall I agree! I think a lot of youtubers don't explain too much in depth they only say "I'm doing this and this" but not "why". The purpose of their videos is "how to", that's what tutorial means and I think it includes explaining, giving tips on what works for who etc., it's not just a look for themselves. Thats what I always loved about Jaclyn's videos. I learned so much from her!

Four years ago I got the courage to leave an incredibly abusive relationship with my sons father. I can't believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How often I tried a smokey eye and everytime it lookes like sh***! For years!!! With this tutorial I finally managed it! The first try was so good, I think when I do it even more and learn a bit, then it will be perfect! THANK YOUUUUUUU!!!!
What I tell clients is that whenever you're trying a technique is to do it at night when you're gonna be washing your face anyway. You can start fresh or work on top of a natural/minimal look you might have had during the day and work on top of that. That way yoy can practice and if it looks like shit you're washing it off anyway! And you can forgrt it even looked bad. You can see what works and what doesn't.

Its Just Mars same here! I have a few of their palettes and a ton of their brushes. The shadows are good and the brushes work great. all of my brushes have been washedany many times and are perfect. I don't think they shed or scratch.

I love these more in depth tutorials. Reminds me of some of your old videos from a long time ago! I like hearing more about specific techniques than always seeing a full face of makeup from beginning to end.

80% of my brush collection is Morphe. They're the best brushes I've ever used, awesome quality, and the price is great. Like I don't understand the hate. I love morphe brushes. The eyeshadows aren't my favorite, but those brushes are bomb. If she's getting paid by a brand she truly does believe, honestly power to her. Y'all need to love yourselves and others and stop giving hate. I swear.
Please continue to do more videos in this format. I loved that the eyes were the focus and I actually really needed a good smokey eye tutorial. You're so good at explaining out your steps and also, Morphe is an awesome brand so I really don't get why people hate that so many people talk about them. I love that you use mascara on the bottom lashes! Mine are incredibly long and I used to think that they looked horrible, but now that I accepted them, I love them. I also liked that you mentioned that falsies wee optional. I usually can't use falsies because my actual lashes are soooo long that my eyes would look odd if I used them. I love the technique. Blend more and make sure your using those transition colours. And practice! Try this look a few times just sitting at home over a week or two, I'm sure you'll get better at it!

The struggle is real. I hardly ever wear make up and every time I did/do everyone makes such a big deal of it that I feel ridiculous and don't wear it again for a while, but I would like to, just once in my life, have my guy speechless or pull that jaw dropping wow from him. I guess I'll invest in make up wipes and sit in front of the mirror this weekend. Practice makes perfect right?

I'm not sure that I have any interest in investing in any Morphe eyeshadows. My eye shadow collection is already pretty massive lol. But I could always use more brushes. Are they worth the hype? Particularly the eye brushes? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

katie lynn. Not a fan of Morphe brushes to be honest. Save and invest in Sigma or MAC brushes. They're so worth it. My Morphe brushes just collect dust.
honestly crown brushes or ebay brushes are the same quality
