Oh my gosh, just listening to this felt so healing. Thank you for this. A couple of years ago, I became Christian and joined a prayer group. It was life changing for me because I was recieving empathy for the first time I could remember! I felt like I could go forward and love my life and care for my children better and listen to them like never vefkre. But I always struggled to find the words for what was taking place. Lovely, warm video. 💕🕊️🙏

Thank you for this video, very helpful insight. Gave me insight on what I need to work on.
As a kid empathy was non existent in my household. And unfortunately in adulthood I am suffering heavily from that aspect of my life. All of my friendships/relationship never last long and for a very long time I thought people didn’t like me very much or something was wrong with me. It just turns out I lack empathy which is quite a relief.

Adore you so much. ❤️ Just shared your video. I would love to see a video that speaks to situations where people want your attention, empathy and talk talk talk about themselves but show no interest in you, do not hear you but just use you as something to dump on. I do not have the capacity to take in all their stuff and then be depleted afterwards. I feel used.

Hello, thank you for making these videos, I feel hopeful to see that others are spreading the word about NVC :)
The idea that it's hard to give empathy when you haven't received one first is what caught my attention, as I've observed it myself when using NVC. It's actually stretching much further, as I observed that in general it's hard for me to care about others before I take care of myself. I like to view this with an analogy to oxygen masks in the airplane - the passengers are asked to first put the masks on themselves, before they put the masks on their children. You first have to take care of yourself in order to have the capacity to help others.
Thanks a lot again, and I look forward for the videos to come! :)

Wow, I remember reading this nonviolent communication book, but I forgot a lot of it. This video was easy to understand, and I should reread that book.

I searched video about how to be more emphatic to someone bcoz I felt to myself I don't have any empathy. I have a bf. Who always giving me empathy. Everytime he expresses his feelings to me I don't know how to communicate well with him. I used violence communication or it's seems like IDC what is your feelings or talking about. I'm so tired with these attitudes until I watched your video I realized might be when I was a child I didn't received enough empathy from my parents that's why Idk how to give empathy to others. I wish the more I watch from your videos the more I will learn and use the NVC. Thank you!

Hello, thank you very much for the videos. They have already helped me to communicate better and althouth I thought I was listening with empathy, I actually wasn't! I gave interpretation or my story instead. I have a question: What I don't understand is, when is it time for opinion or even suggestion? Let' s say that I have listened with empathy and I see that the other is releaved but at the same time I believe heshe needs to change something or I have a suggestion for a solution to a problem. Should I choose another time to tell them, or never and let them sort it out themselves?

I have never been empathetic and was not show how as a child so it bothers me a lot that it comes so easy to others. Your video breaks it down for me so I will give it a try but of course beginners are always sloppy so I hope I don't confuse people. I will keep you posted 😄😄

I love ALL of your videos!!! I hope as a global society that we can become more loving and kindhearted. I notice that when I’m sharing something that I’d like empathy for, most people don’t know how to listen without judging and or trying to fix the problem. It’s so helpful to empower people by just listening to them and to let them know that their feelings are heard. And like you said in this video that after receiving empathy it is much easier to come up with solutions. I think when we as a people are educated in NVC that many suicides will be prevented. People will feel heard and seen and understood. They won’t feel alone. You are such an inspiration!!! I thank you for all of your work and dedication to help us learn something so life changing and powerful. 😍🥰😘💜🦋💚💕🌻🌻🌻🌞☀️🧚🏼‍♂️

Hi Marianne, thank you for this video. I liked one thing in particular, this "secret" you mentioned about requiring empathy in order to be able to give it yourself. It is something that was on my mind for a while and I felt relieved when I heard you also mention it. It met my need for support as I sometimes find it very hard to empathise with my loved ones and friends and stay connected.
One topic that I would love to watch you cover is jealousy and affairs, from the points of view of both the victim and the cheater... It would be really interesting to see what you think the feelings and needs people can have in this very common life situation. By the way, I have just received your newsletter on this topic, so I will dive in it now to see what I can find there! Thank you so much once again, I feel so inspired when I watch your videos!

Hearing you talk on your videos, especially how you suggest integrating nvc into your habitual language, i feel hopefull, relieved, because i let in a lot of understanding for the struggles and direction on how to heal (that i wasnt as much listening to and reading rosenbergs nvc book).
I wish you can recieve that and i would love for u to respond to me on how you recieve what im saying.
Lots of warm welcoming for ur displayed humannes❤️

Been a while. I wish I had been more emphatic lately. With all that has been happening in America, I have let my emotions get the best of me. You're videos help me, I needed to just hear this. It in it's self makes me feel heard, often I am energically low, not much empathy and just having that addressed by you emphatically, has me feeling more prepared to be empathetic toward others and that means alot, I have felt disappoint in my interactions with others, I haven't managed them the best.
Very insightful and comforting. Thank you, so much.

Carnivore here, would also appreciate a video on this diet dichotomy in regards to NVC. I am so grateful for your work. These little episodes are sinking into my memory and conciousness, deeper than Marshall's words even. Though I am deeply grateful for him, I am benefiting from the soft feminine way of explaining NVC. My kids also are relaxed by the sounds of your calm advice playing over the speakers during play room time. Thanks for all the effort put into these vids
