Thank you Mr. Young for the release on Vimeo ... the higher resolution its really like ever a great enjoyment ... uhm ... and the GoPro position at your right shoulder is like sitting on your backseat ... thanks again fo sharing. My 3.6 scale Xcub is on a good way for her finishing. Now I search and need picture of the exhaust tubes and their diameters to create this for the model. I think, dear Mr. Young ... much model plane pilots and "constructors" will be very thankful to you if you present your Xcub one times out of eyes of an model flyer. In and outside of the plane are so much interesting details like (navigation lights, landing lights, door grips, steps, struts, rudder connectors, tailwheel, breaks, markings, signs and much, much other details ! Like your "for sale" video presentations of planes. Thats the right "good" stuff and gold dust for modelers. Please stay healthy ... and send us please (from time to time, if possible) ... "sun and fun" from California ... we need it in the next months. Sorry for to long comment.
Nice video Steve! The first one of your videos I watched (years ago) was the CC to Big Bear, glad to see you flying the X-Cub there. Just got back from an am flight in my Savage Outback! Love my bushplane!
Thanks Steve. Beautiful video... loved the background music. That engine sounds a whole lot more beefy than the Carbon Cub. Seems to land and handle a tad heavier as well. Just my impressions... Gord
This is an awesome channel... Just found it.. You ever do any off airport landings, maybe out in the desert? That would be cool to see. This is the first video of yours I came across..I live in San Marcos, North County San Diego. I used to fly Cessna's out of Palomar. Stopped just short of finishing my license for a variety of reasons but bush type planes were always what interested me... Keep the videos coming, I will watch them all...
@@mmoore9957 It’s shorter, so there is slightly more ground clearance. I don’t believe there are any published performance benefits VS a two blade. Some say it’s quieter and some say it’s noisy. But it’s definitely more expensive to buy and maintain.
@@StevenYoungcaptual All propeller data shows a long 2 blade 82-83" would be similar to your 3 blade, 3 blades have more thrust better for floats, skis, high altitude short field, similar to the long 2 blade. Short 2 blades are faster, less parasitic drag but considerably less thrust.
@@mmoore9957 Sounds good👌I’ll just stick with- It looks cool. I’ve listened to these opinions for 50 years, and for what it costs, I’ll stick with -Three for Show and Two to Go😜

@@StevenYoungcaptual I was watching that one earlier today! I grew up in Southern California and have been to Catalina (via ferry) before so it was a great trip down memory lane.

💚 Nice to see you’re still flying Steven
Thanks for the ride, Steve!

Thanks for the memories, I use to fly to Big Bear for breakfast. Your aircraft handled the 6K field elevation nicely.

Fantastic plane mate!
Enjoying your videos. Would be great to hear your radio communications.
Thermal Traffic-XCub 1SY departing 12, left cross wind. Big Bear traffic-XCub 1SY right down wind/base/final. There you go (-:
What a beautiful aircraft
Thank you very much😜
How does that three blade prop do for short field takeoff ?
Ha....I just got it because I like the way it looks.
@@StevenYoungcaptual is it better than the 2 blade

Living vicariously through you, and flying this plane in Flight Simulator. What engine is in your X Cub? How many HP? Great Video.

I've been flying this a lot in MSFS 2020 and I'm feeling the same way... living vicariously through Steve for the "real" videos lol
