Another honorable mention could be Phyllomedusa, a frog-themed one-man band with easily over 300 releases on Bandcamp. Fair warning, it's mostly harsh noise / goregrind & possibly the loudest music ever published.

how about john zorn? he has around 300 releases which explores every avenue of music you can think of, to avant jazz, grindcore, modern classical, surf rock, free improv, with multiple collabs including mike patton, yamantaka eye, fred frith and more. very prolific artist

When "scrobbling" was a thing, I used to have WinAmp running 24/7, constantly playing music... I'll be honest, I'd say it was like a 70/30 split on cataloguing/"internet cool points" where I was genuinely interested in numbers, and charts, and diagrams... _but, with a little bit of "look at how cool and obscure this guys music taste is"._
Which is why... from reading the above, you won't be surprised to find that Merzbow is my "most listened to" artist.
Wont lie to you, not a fan of tons of it, despite listening to a ton of it. Really genuinely like a lot of his collabs though.

It's not 1,000+ but I'd like to bring up Wesley Willis and his output of around 50 albums. Some people may not take his music seriously but he is one of the most important figures in outsider art. Most of his music was completely self published in the 80's and 90's and possibly would have been lost to time if it weren't for Jello Biafra of The Dead Kennedys. Rock over London, rock on Chicago!

You're forgetting English singer/multi-instrumentalist Bill Nelson who, as a solo artist since 1971 (not counting his albums with the band Be-Bop Deluxe in the 70s) has almost 160 albums to his name to date!
Also notably absent is the German electronic music group Tangerine Dream, who since their first album recorded in 1969 have made over three hundred albums, including live albums with previously unreleased compositions and film soundtracks.

Bull of Heaven would make another great video. They probably have the the "longest" discography as they have songs on albums that are basically in infinite length. Their 310 album: ΩΣPx0(2^18×5^18)p*k*k*k is famously 3.343 quindecillion years long which is obviously a seriously impressive feat. They are more of an art experiment than a band but they have over 500 albums some of which have good more standard music compositions like 299: Self-Traitor, I Do Bring the Spider Love.

3:01 This is the funniest shit I've heard all day 😏
Also, regarding Buckethead. The list is insane. A YT channel called Natternet has been uploading Buckethead's Pikes since #300 or so and it around 660. He also has 20 or 30 regular albums before that. He was on Chinese Democracy and released several LPs with Praxis, Travis Dickerson and Viggo Mortensen, 1 album with Les Claypool, and has featured on several movie and video game soundtracks. There are others that I can't recall at the moment. I would guess the total number of albums is around 750 - 800 or so, with at least 700 being albums on which is was the main guitarist.
You also mention that the Pikes are all well thought out compositions. Many of them are, but not all, especially the later ones. As they go into the 400s they definitely turn more into improv jams.

Buckethead, in my opinion, is the most important rock guitarist since Hendrix & EVH. His broad, exceptional compositional vision for the guitar and discography is unrivaled. For those newbies who are “lost without a map” when approaching his music, I have compiled many of his best melodic rock, mellow, and Gilmour influenced works in the following PLAYLISTS:

Really!? at 15:18, i mean if you just focus on most of his poular songs then yes they do mostly consist on just long guitar solos, but i've listened to his whole catalogue and trust me his music has way more musical variety and a lot of genres and styles with a unique and interesting take on than just long solos, even more so if you include his collabs.

It's hard to keep track of his output, as most of it is just dumped into a googledrive... or now a days uploaded to his various youtube channels. But if you look into it he has a crazy amount. A lot of it very good too, just of very drastically varying quality due to mental illness.

Quality is all that matter to me. Quantity is a statistic. Band So & So released a gazillion records? So what? What’s one of their songs? Is it memorable? Do I want to listen to it again? Unless something from these hours of material is going to stick in my memory somehow it seems wasteful and cheapens the artist’s brand. Buckethead might be a crazy skilled player but recording and releasing everything you do is wasteful. If the artist can’t even be bothered to curate their own work why should I take on that burden as a listener?
