The way he looks at her at 2:10 is so cute in it’s own form of way it’s like he’s lost but still thinking, then when she said weep no more sweet Hvisterk it was so nice that he got comfort he deserved after going through hell! Bless him he’s been through so much ⚔️🐺
Right before she said that to Hvitserk, I can see the tears in his eyes my heart went out to him especially when his voice started to break. ❤ also when he was talking to Björn at his Burial Mound my heart broke for Hvitserk when tears started running down his face. Hvitserk has been through so much. ❤❤❤❤ Stay Strong Hvitserk
The scenes where poor Hvitserk is so upset like this kill me. So your brothers have ambitions to be kings and world explorers, so what. It's OK to just be you, Hvitserk. We love you. He's got a lot going for him - he's a great warrior, he managed to beat his addiction (brought on by PTSD from Ivar's doings!) he's an easygoing diplomatic guy, not a hot-head or rash like his brothers can be sometimes, he just wants a nice wife and family to love. I just want to hug him, he looks so lonely and forlorn.
Hvitserk really undersells himself at every turn. Yes, he's had his dark moments but what has the guy done right? He's one of the best warriors in the series, an utter berserker and a true Viking, which alone I think would allow him entry to Valhalla. He fought alongside the other great heroes of his time like Bjorn, Floki and Harald in the Mediterranean. He convinced Ivar and Harald to call to Rollo for help which was the reason for their overthrow of Bjorn and Lagertha and their winning leadership of Kattegat. He similarly appealed to Olaf to join Bjorn's forces against Ivar to overthrow him when he had become a violent despot and while unsuccessful, he did as much as any of them in contributing to Bjorn's kingship, given it was Freydis alone who was truly responsible for Ivar's defeat. I mean, come on, Hvitserk is an accomplished person and yet he throws his name to the wolves every chance he gets. Having said that, I would have loved to see Bjorn speak to Hvitserk here. Like when he refused to take up arms against Ubbe and again with Ivar despite all their troubles, it showed Hvitserk's true measure as a brother when, despite Bjorn's crimes against Hvitserk for unwittingly killing Lagertha, the woman who murdered his mother in cold blood after promising her safe passage, he still reveres him and speaks highly of him here and it would have been so, so satisfying if Bjorn appeared in spirit, forgave Hvitserk and apologised for how he hypocritically treated him and told him what I put above, the things he's done right in his life. It felt throwaway while Ivar gets the good style treatment of a Ragnar style revelation to return to England that Hvitserk just sleeps with a random Goddess, great as that must be, and suddenly he's a changed man. A bit cheap really.
I don't think Idunn was a goddess who came to sleep with him, but rather an Angel who appeared to comfort him. Hvitserk was one of the best warriors of his brothers, but he was also the most sensitive of all of them. Hence why Hvitserk cared for Ubbe's crazy wife Margrethe after leaving her for Torvi. Hvitserk was also the one who pointed out to his mother that Siggy, Bjorns daughter had drowned and Aslaug and Ivar basically said "who cares". Hvitserk could have killed Ivar many times but didn't, he was mentally troubled and uninterested in marketing himself as a great warrior. The reason Hvitserk threw his name to the wolves is because he had the best quality heart.
@@quickfeed7592 he joined ivar initially cuz ubbe nearly killed both of em when they went to the saxon for peace..and like he said he doesn’t want to follow ubbe like he’s loyal dog so he stayed with ivar ..so when he joined him again everyone literally even the “brother he loves the most” casted him out for killin lagartha and nearly froze to death but ivar saved him till the end after that..so you wildin bruh
