Back in those days, men behaved like men. Plus that comment just sprouted immediately in my mind when I recalled the Vikings, especially Ragnar Lothbrok in particular. Now that's the kind of father figure every boy should have, or look up to when he's growing up...if you ask me. Every growing boy needs a male authority figure to look up to. Ragnar Lothbrok would fit that description perfectly. All the way down to the Tee.

By the end of the year we go for a week's journey in the boats they have built and along the journey a kid will randomly Start one of the songs we've been singing while building. Sixty odd voices chanting together in the wind n water , paddles pulled in time. It's understandable why it works and how intimidating it can be.

I fucking love this series and I swear that besides Kjetil, Aslaug and Aelle, you just can't hate any other characters and those 3 where made to be hated intentionally by being heartless and power hunger overconfident assholes. Like even Ivar, you just feel bad for him but can't hate him, Floki when he killed Athelstan it broke me but couldn't hate him, I hated the death of him but couldn't hate floki and even on the grand scheme of things in the big battles even though the viking where the one invading you couldn't blame them for seeking a better life and you couldn't blame the Saxon for defending there home. This show, even though his name is Vikings, managed to paint such perfect gray over the whole battlefield until the last battle, making you wonder with who the fuck should you rule for. That and the fact that this show isn't scared of straight up killing beloved characters and main characters in a way that dosen't feel bullshit and they don't make them come back in ridiculous ways is why I like it so much.
While listening to this, my son asked for help with his homework. Instead, we stormed the kitchen, built a fort from the dining chairs, and now we defend our territory like true warriors. Homework can wait, the clan must be ready!

I fucking love this series and I swear that besides Kjetil, Aslaug and Aelle, you just can't hate any other characters and those 3 where made to be hated intentionally by being heartless and power hunger overconfident assholes. Like even Ivar, you just feel bad for him but can't hate him, Floki when he killed Athelstan it broke me but couldn't hate him, I hated the death of him but couldn't hate floki and even on the grand scheme of things in the big battles even though the viking where the one invading you couldn't blame them for seeking a better life and you couldn't blame the Saxon for defending there home. This show, even though his name is Vikings, managed to paint such perfect gray over the whole battlefield until the last battle, making you wonder with who the fuck should you rule for. That and the fact that this show isn't scared of straight up killing beloved characters and main characters in a way that dosen't feel bullshit and they don't make them come back in ridiculous ways is why I like it so much.
