I have had an 8X Dalape that I bought when they first hit the market about 10 years ago. Has been trouble free all these years and I am always finding new tricks and sounds. I also play acoustic converter free bass accordion so nice to be able to setup the same bass style whether B or C system., etc. The 4X should have 41 treble keys... That is the only reason I didn't get one as a backup. But the 8X is an amazing instrument other than the extra weight.

Thank you for all your videos. So memorising to watch. I’ve learned SO much about the Roland Digital Accordions through watching your videos.

@@dalematthies I am aiming towards buying my first Roland Digital Accordion but only wish that I lived in USA you do, so I could buy from Crown Music. As I live in UK I realise that this isn’t possible.

Excellent showing the difference between the FR-4x and the FR-8x. You have more creative license with the FR-8x because of its versatility and large musical storage and sounds. I like the free base option with the FR-8x. You can really play to the crowd with that option. Well, have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Also, Roland makes some petal assemblies for midi use but you have to have relative stationary playing ...no roaming. Sometime show us how these all fit with the Roland Accordions. Thank you for your excellent videos.

Hi, finally I'm ready to get FR-8x. However, isn't there a new version coming in 2024? Any idea? Thx a lot and thx for such great comparasion.

I am almost 100% certain that Roland is not investing in any V-Accordion upgrades. The production numbers are too small to make the investment worth while. But, they did assure me that they were going to continue to make the instrument - at least if current sales numbers continue.

Wish there will be a light version of 8x coming out, like all of 8x but the size/weight, petite person here…

The only way to reduce the size is to remove the number of piano keys. That is way so many have purchased a 4x.
