🎶👍Hi Dale I really enjoyed the video and the 13 questions very informative I hope all is well I have been watching your videos and thank you so much Dale. Hello from Springfield Mass. 👍🎶
Hi Dale, I believe I saw in one of your previous Utube vids that you said a little microphone could be fitted onfo the top of a Roland Accordian fr8x to enable the player to sing without having to lean into a stand up mic. Am I correct in this? Is there such a mic? And if there is can you tell me which vid it is in or how to do it? What mic is it? If there is one and how is it attached? Thank you 🤔😀👍
Someone had done that to an FR-3x that Crown Music sold for the customer. They used a cheap mic and glued a mic holder to the top of the accordion. It was a nasty job removing the mic holder. I cannot tell you how well it worked; I did not try to use it.
Hi Dale - As always your video was very interesting and entertaining. I was wondering about the bellows, you have a custom design (2 diamonds). Is this something you ordered special from Roland or did you have someone locally modify the bellows. Along the same lines, could the bellows be easily replaced because of the sensors. Are the sensors in the bellows or on either side?
My 8x was owned by someone before I purchased it from him; he did the design work. At the time, he preferred his Excelsior/ MIDI instrument. Then I began making 8x videos with the Dale Mathis Sound Sets. After hearing what I have done to reprogram the accordion, he sold the Excelsior and purchased a new 8x from Crown. I have not had a need to open the bellows (and I do not have a tech manual), so I do not know where the sensors are located.
Thanks for the quick reply, but I wasn't clear that l meant using the LH with the RH in sync with each other. I play a sax and have tried piano, but the coordination of the 2 hands are the problem.
This is a difficult question to give a reply. I am assuming you are saying that when you have tried to play piano, if you play one hand alone everything is fine, but if you try to play music with both hands you have a difficult time. If that is what you are telling me, I would suggest learning the right hand part alone before trying to add the left hand part. Learn the RH part so well that you can play it by rote, then your mind will be free to focus on a simple LH chord part.
Pmwizard48. Be patient with yourself. Start with one measure at a time. It’s sooo gratifying when things begin to come together!! You’ll have fun when the coordination begins. 🤗👍✝️💟
Accordion LH is much easier than piano or organ LH, you are simply playing patterns by rote - - unless you are learning Free Bass style. Then, yes, it is challenging.
Hmph!! I missed this one too!! I would never buy another accordion unless it was programmed by you!! You are amazing!!
May I add the fact they are beautifully packed!! I’ve purchased 2 so far and absolutely NO issues!! Just the joy factor!!😂🤗💟✝️
Beautiful job on the ADAMS FAMILY!!

Is it possible to detune it to 440, 445 hz etc on the fly?
Yes, store the new tuning in a User Program.

Hi . I am asking if there is a new accordion from Roland coming soon Replace FR-8x ? Thank you
If there is a replacement, Roland has not informed their dealers.
How long does it take to learn how to play the bass side of the accordion? That to me looks to be the biggest hurdle.
Accordion LH is much easier than piano or organ LH, you are simply playing patterns by rote - - unless you are learning Free Bass style. Then, yes, it is challenging.
Hello. What is free bass style?
Each left hand button plays an individual note like a piano, thus you can make complicated chords and play classical music like the European players.
Can you bellow shake with the 8x?
I am not a bellows shaker but I have seen a few Roland players do it, but I think it is not easy.
