Usually. Except in cases like Disney that are so badly run that the people at the top just do not care. They chose politics over making money and have repeatedly doubled down on that. It is not just picking on one company, there are companies that are like this. Yes, they usually fail and keep failing until those people are removed, but it does happen.

I saw New Hope in first run. I stood in line in Chicago for tickets to The Empire Strikes Back. It was a dedicated week leading up to the return of the jedi. Then it appeared to be over. The three movies were there for repeat viewing. Spaceballs rocked. Then came the prequels, the sequels, and the spin offs. I'll watch the new stuff, but 'star Wars" was closed in 83

Speaking of mishandled franchises, how about WestWorld. I feel they messed that one up badly. Loved season 1 and the premise it was going for. Then with season 2, I feel they increased a number of things that I felt weren't very good, ie namely the complexity of the plot. They turned the complexity up to 11, and possibly to hide the plot, and there was only one episode I felt was truly great in Season 2, and it was the Akecheta episode which felt like a more straightforward story compared to most episodes, and it was better for it. I really wanted more of that kind of storytelling out of it. Season 3 was quite odd and by the end of that season, I thought for sure it would be the end of it, given how the season finale ended. So, I was surprised when they announced a 4th season, but somehow not so surprised at the fact that it felt like it had run out of steam and unsure of what it really wanted to be with the mess of a story it was trying to tell. And the story? Umm well.. Complexity is not necessarily good, because more often than not, a good story should be able to stand on its own. For all those mental gymnastics, there had better be a good payoff, but there wasn't.

Anything can have character relationships and crap dialogue. I want lore of the force and it's users. Powers and lightsabers. Imagining being a freaking badass force welding lightsaber swinging unstoppable monster of a being is the awesome. So the new stuff all sucks. It's boring. Barely any good action and all the characters are written like a toddler wrote them. The bad guys are supposed to be evil. I want to see them be evil. Some of my thoughts
Having the Emperor come back to life doesn't undo the character arcs and heroic sacrifices of the other characters . Thos actions still happened . The War still ended. What screws the whole thing up is the Government that took over was still corrupt and was still taken over by the first order and that eximperials didn't join the fight against the First order or that exrebbles didn't join the first order.
The Emperor (and a huge chunk of throne room) surviving the explosion of the Death Star THAT is stupid
those movies suffer from a lot of lost opportunities which is a whole other topic.
An other thought of criticism is that hating a character, movie or idea when that idea involves an other race or an other culture does not make you against that race or culture. It just acknowledges a bad idea . People who hate ideas that involve other cultures do not hate that idea "Because an other culture was part of it" there hate of that idea exists regardless of who came up with it.
The use of CGI is not bad or fake. CGI when done right, looks superior to models and often you can't tell fake things from real things.
New TV shows and Movies are good. People just can't see that because those new things don't match the fan's fanfictions
There is such a thing as people who just want to hate some thing . This happens when any one else can see the movie IS good.
People hated Superman returns, so the Studio gave them Man of Steel. People hated Man of Steel so the Studio gave them Flash and then people hated Flash There is such a thing as fans never being happy no matter what studios do. Some studios, they try. they put all the things fans say they like and want in a story and then fans still hate it. If fans would just like movies we wouldn't have reboots and canceled projects and crunch time. You Know why Rey is a Palpatine? Because fans were mad that she came from No One.
people with complaints need to make there own movies.

    • @thedarkmasterthedarkmaster

This is such a dismissive comment.
"People with complaints need to make there own movies." By that logic if the mccdonalds employee serves an uncooked burger the customer can't complain unless they can cook a burger.
I know very few people who just want to hate something. it's not nearly a prevalent as you think it is.
CGI can be good but it's not inherently good and oftentimes has an uncanny valley effect that physical models often lack.
"New TV shows and Movies are good. People just can't see that because those new things don't match the fan's fanfictions"
I disagree while some do enter into movies with extreme expectations number one that is often the fault of the companies for fueling hype culture. Most people don't carry fan fictions into the movietheater

    • @sasamichan
      @sasamichan Год назад +1

@@thedarkmasterthedarkmaster I stand by that statement.
"make your own" does not apply to every one but it applies to a lot. A lot of people can make there own. What you said too can apply If you are mad that no one makes a product that you want it is with in your power to make it your self. Etsy, RUclips, Deviant Art, New Grounds these sites are BUILT on the idea that if it does not exist we can make it exist. Humans have talent they only need motivation and resources. But rather then make new things, we too often take an existing thing and try to change it. Benjamin Caron, JJ Abrams, Timothy Zahn they all understood this. If you want to make some thing happen in Star Wars make your own. Frank Miller knew this so did Bruce Timm so did Satoshi Tajiri and Doug Walker, James Rolfe and FXitinPost so did batinthesun so did Jan Animations. The world is full of people who "Made it them selves" Leave Jimmy Olsen alone and tell your own story with your own character. People might enjoy it.
There is also a great deal of perspective you are missing by not being part of the process. You don't know the work that goes in to a job that is actually well done and maybe doesn't meet your standards but people still worked hard on it. Why talk as if there was some moral obligation to do better?
When a product is really truly bad it deserves to be called out. But when your complaint is "The star of the movie was the wrong color" or "this character has the wrong back story" then its time to make your own.
physical models can also look incredibly fake. Enough that it takes me out of the movie. Lizards with horns glues to there heads, giant gorillas who are clearly just a guy in a suit, two men fighting on top of a train and one is clearly a dummy there are a lot of good effects out there. Ray Harryhausen, and Phil Tippett are masters of there craft but some times in a film, you can just SEE the strings and zippers, the glass eyes, the stuffing, the slight green outline. Some times fake is fake weather its CGI or plastic , some times you can just tell.
Any one who wanted Rey to be a Kenobi or Finn to be a Jedi carried there fan fictions with them in to the theaters.
Thats what I did when I saw The Wizard. I created my own story in my head based on the poster about video game characters coming to life and entering the real world and The Wizard let me down. Then Pixels let me down again. Ready Player One got my idea right. Ready Player One IS the movie that was in my head when I saw The Wizard. Same for the Illumination Super Mario Brothers. that is scene for scene exactly what was in my head when I saw the live action Mario movie that is MY idea exactly on film exactly how I would have written it. Thats why the animated film is a better movie then the live action one. They got it right.
Many movies and Tv shows today are getting it right like The Owl House, Turning Red, The Mario Movie, the upcoming TMNT animated film, into the Spiderverse. Many other things were at there BEST in the PAST Batman TAS, Heir to the Empire and they got taken and changed and the change was bad. Some movies, Like The Wizard of Oz , got changed for there source material and have since them become iconic , near impossible to return to how they were before those changes and now open to countless retellings. There can always be an other version of The Christmas Carrol. But some stories are told right once. If you think Back to the Future was a bad movie, don't remake it or reboot it, instead make your own time travel film with your own characters. You can't fix what's not broken

And Black Bolt wouldn't just attack her out-of-the-blue for one because she's a good person and just under the influence of a bad evil book and that would be totally out-of-character for anyone but an antihero to do. Wanda's plans not need to make sense because she's not thinking straight she's not in her right mind. She's under the control dark hold

The picture from the thumbnail is from WandaVision, referring to how at the end of the show, she faces no consequences for what she has done to the town, and it’s treated like she did a selfless thing. I don’t have a problem with her appearance in MoM

Just responding to the thumbnail: Wanda was NOT "instantly forgiven", she came to her senses at the last minute and SACRIFICED HERSELF to put a stop to the nightmare she'd set in motion. What more punishment do people want than the DEATH PENALTY, which she paid at the end of the film? And that's not even getting into the fact that she was corrupted by the Darkhold which is well known as having the power to influence and actually take control of minds which is one of the things that makes it so dangerous. Just coming into contact with it, let alone reading any of it, makes whoever does so vulnerable to being taken over by the demonic Elder God Cthon and very, very few mortal beings can resist his diabolical power.
Bottom line: Yes what she did was wrong, but the stuff she did in WandaVision was a result of trauma-induced insanity and in Multiverse of Madness was due to demonic mind control. And regardless if you think that absolves her of guilt (under the law, it would) she's DEAD and paid the ultimate price for all she'd done. She got away with nothing, she isn't in prison or an asylum because she's dead and her corpse is pulped meat squished under a million tons of mountain.

The picture in the Thumbnail is from WandaVision. In that show, at the end of the story, she isn’t held accountable for what she did by enslaving the town. They frame it as a heroic sacrifice that she stops doing something incredibly evil and selfish. I’m not saying you can’t empathize with her in that show, but there is zero accountability of what she’s done. I agree that in Doctor Strange 2 she does get punished, she actually has a pretty similar redemption to Doc sock from Spiderman 2, which I like

@@HeadCannon1624 TL;dr she was literally insane and thus cannot be held liable for actions she wasn't even consciously aware of or able to control.
Full: Do you realize she wasn't aware of what she was doing until quite a ways into doing it and was in fact under her own illusion for a good portion of the series? And that she was pushed into this dissociative delusional state by extreme trauma? Because that's a fact that many seem to gloss over at best if they're even aware of it, acting as if she deliberately set out to do all she did consciously and with malice aforethought. That is not the case.
The fact is that NOBODY, including Wanda herself, knew her powers could even DO that. She certainly didn't trigger the effect consciously or deliberately, what happened was she completely snapped and fell into a delusional state where her mind denied the horrible reality she couldn't face and couldn't handle. This is a real phenomenon that some trauma victims actually suffer, where they become detached from a reality that is too horrible and overwhelming for them to be able to process and remain functional.
Normally, such an individual would become withdrawn and catatonic or at best operate under a delusion filter imposed on reality by their own broken mind, but in her case she subconsciously tapped into her powers in order to manifest that internal delusion as external reality. She was in deep denial, with her mind clinging to the false reality and rejecting anything that would disrupt it as a defense mechanism against coming to terms with her trauma. Times where she got close to lucidity, and took more conscious action, were a fragment of her psyche manifesting to in order to maintain that defense mechanism before lulling her conscious mind into forgetting she'd even done it.
The flashbacks we saw were her unlocking those repressed memories for the first time since her breakdown, slowly becoming aware of things that contradicted her delusion and slowly coming to realize the truth of what was happening. As time went on, she grew closer to lucidity and the delusion slowly weakened as her mind pieced together what it had been hiding from itself. That she managed to accomplish this without medication and psychotherapy is borderline miraculous and probably a case of fudging how mental illness really works in order to have a plot that progresses and isn't just years of her in a rubber room.
In legal terms, there's no way she would be convicted because she was clearly not in control of her actions and had utterly lost possession of her mental faculties. Legal culpability requires the offender to be aware of what they're doing, able to make a choice, able to determine right from wrong, and choosing to do wrong. She utterly failed to meet those criteria and would be judged incompetent to stand trial. Instead, she would be remanded to a mental institution for mandatory treatment indefinitely.

You should remain emotionally attached to a character when they were written well, but do not pardon or excuse the character when their written poorly or by people with bad intentions.
I've seen beloved characters made into mocking parodies of the characters I once loved, and always by people who do not understand or care about what made those characters appealing, all that matters is their agenda and using the character for their own end.
Example, I've liked Venom since the 90s comics, he was my favorite anti hero, and yet his first on screen debut on spiderman 3 was absolute garbage. Then the tom hardy venom movies came along and they became just like the character I loved, so I now erase spiderman 3s venom from my mind and only accept the original comics and tom hardy movies as being the character I love.
