Hey Taylor, does your contract state you get paid even if you pronounce the big word wrong? There's not a long I in that word, it's a pair (e) dolia.
The word was imported from German to English, so I think it's acceptable.
The 'ei' in pareidolia is usually reduced to a schwa in British English, but this is not the only possible pronunciation. In fact, both the Merriam-Webster and American Heritage dictionaries only give pronunciations with a long I for the 'ei' in pareidolia, so she's simply using the usual pronunciation in American English. The 'ei' is ultimately from Greek where it represented a single vowel, and in English words of similar origin the 'ei' is usually pronounced as a long I as in Poseidon or Deinonychus.
