Thanks, great question! The same advice applies if you have braces- preserve the tooth and get to the dentist as soon as possible to deal with the tooth itself, you may then have to make a trip to your orthodontist to repair the braces and make sure everything is fixed in the right place. I had an dental trauma but my tooth was not out of the gums my upper teeth crused my lower teeth the fragments of the tooth were stuck around my interier of the lips and some in the gums

My new incisor broke when I was just 8.
I was traumatised thinking this will be my future & I was crying.
Unfortunately I was surround by relatives who never cared about me. No body tired finding the piece, in fact they tried fooling me that my tooth was fine.
Life lesson, never take any risks, when around haters. And don't worry about starches or small burns, else your own reactions can bring you significant injuries.
