I'm not sure but whenever I see an athlete use smelling salts they take a huge breath and do it all at once instead of 2 or 3 sniffs
I built a home gym during the start of quarantine without having done a lot of weight training in the past, and a lot of these things are new to me (smelling salts, creatine, pre-workout...etc) and it's so fun to see your videos come out as I learn about these things. Which the NHL, they use them ALL the time. Also seen a lot in football and baseball before at bats. It just jolts your system and makes you hyper alert for a short period.
I kind of get the weight lifting thing but see it more for the other things I mentioned. More like instant energy but not really added strength which is why i don’t see it helping lifters as much as the other athletes.

Great video all I could say is try take it all In at once and go straight into the lift as fast as possible I notice it wears off very fast so you don't want that happening when you are still setting up

Most people when thier squatting another person holds the salt up to thier nose as they have the bar on their shoulders and then squat immediately after smelling the salts.

I think when you went for max you went too quick taking it and doing the sqaut you maybe should have waited a bit longer because the smelling salts make a irritation in your body and breaths in alot of air and givea more oxygen

One statement that was made rung a bell with me - when growing up training for sports my parents feelings on supplements were anything other than food that comes in a jar in pill or powder form were steroids, strictly forbidden, not to be taken, and not up for discussion!
