      Hi Robert, thank you very much. Well, I am glad you found me. Regarding my skintones in this vid, I shot everything in the standard picture profile and just used a consistent Kelvin for every shot. Made editing really easy as I didnt have to color grade at all.

    You are completely right, Thomas. I have used the GH5 for wedding filmmaking and it's treated me so well. It almost feels as if I am thinking about "cheating" when I think about new gear haha. I will say- having reliable, consistent autofocus like dual pixel would help me out during the wedding day for select shots. I always appreciate your value-first approach to making these videos!

      Hi Manny, Thank you very much! I feel the exact way you do about my GH5 and GH5S. They have been such a pleasure to use and have never failed me once. But you know, I too would love to have reliable auto-focus not only for some parts of the wedding day (mainly just the ceremony processional) but also when I am making RUclips videos. The reason I am so close to the camera is so I can put myself in focus LOL. But anyway Manny thanks for the comment.

      Thx Scott! Ive been wanting to try out that 7-14mm. Let me know how you like it. You know I had a whole section in the video about it being ok to purchase stuff you need (just made the video to long). For example I broke my Macro lens and so I recently bought another one. For me I just use to buy everything I wanted and didnt just focus on what I actually needed.

    Wise words there Thomas. I believe that buying the latest gear can make us less creative. Working with gear (and money) limitations can lead to innovative problem solving and allow us to find a new way of approaching and creating something. Having said that, if you still have some gear to give away, i'll send you my address 😎

    • @StoryDrivenFilmmaking
      @StoryDrivenFilmmaking  4 года назад

      Thanks Simon! Totally agree. Oh, and I may have some EF lenses I'm not using haha.

  • @RandyParsley
    @RandyParsley 4 года назад

    Preach it! Luckily I don't have the money to buy a lot of gear or my life would be ruined. I still salivate and dream when I see these new cameras coming out, but that little voice inside says "you don't shoot enough and there's very little you could not do with your GH5...very little." Now lenses...ooof! I want, I want I want. It's not just camera gear like you talked about in the last half. We humans have a tendency to want "stuff" as we get that dopamine rush that, for a short while, makes us feel good. (besides that crummy old R5 overheats, so there!) Ha!

    • @StoryDrivenFilmmaking
      @StoryDrivenFilmmaking  4 года назад +1

      Yeah, I still have to hold myself back sometimes because I have always wanted those Voigtlaender lenses for the GH5 and I also want some Anamorphic SLR lenses as well. But I don't really need them (maybe Santa will get them for me one day). I laughed so hard @ "that crummy old R5 overheats" haha. You know I see people giving that R5 a lot of pain about the overheating but the thing is, I don't think anyone has the final version of the camera (they all have pre-production models). So I think the final model might not have any overheating issues. But in the end your right there is very little our little GH5 can't do (except use auto-focus). You know that's why I decided not to get the S1H. P.S. My wife is starting her own RUclips channel and she want's the R6 (she needs auto-focus) so I guess Canon might get my money after all :-(.

    No R5? I know why. You saw the presentation of the Blackmagic 12K. :-)
    (If not, WARNING! it may contain GAS) They have 12K 60p, 8K 110P, 4K 220p - all in B-RAW and a workflow to process the data on a normal editing machine.

    • @StoryDrivenFilmmaking
      @StoryDrivenFilmmaking  3 года назад +1

      @@djcuda I totally get it and I am torn in some different ways. Im pretty good as far as my biz in concerned. The rule I have for my Video Production business is to only buy gear that will make me more money (or drastically make life easier). However the conflict for me comes as someone who creates RUclips videos because I want to be able to test out different gear for content. However, I want to make gear videos without making my audience feel like they have to buy everything that I am trying out.

      @@StoryDrivenFilmmaking right I do tech reviews One thing as a tuber whether you know it or not is that you’re an influencer and the little things you say people will take it to heart hook line and sinker. It’s so it’s crazy not to have gas at this point because there’s been so much leaps and bounds in technology, that new things that are obsolete has become so compacted good it’s more tempting now than it ever has been in history, the tech game is crazy rn
