  • A full feature review on the 2008 Lexus LS460 base model. I go through every feature in the 2008 Lexus LS460, almost like a part 2 to the full review I already did on the LS460. This base Lexus has a plethora of features already built in and many consider the Lexus LS cars to be one of the best used cars you can possibly buy. I thank you for stopping by and watching, if you learned something new, I would love to know down in the comment section below. Take care.

    My wife and I have been driving LS models since the mid 90s. I just bought my 5th LS, a 2009 LS460 ( my wife has a LS 430 soon to get traded methinks? ). Firstly I gotta say what a superior car the 460 is to the 430 in every aspect. I traded a MB 500SEL and did Lexus ever get it right this time. Notwithstanding ya just can't beat Lexus Service. This was a great review and saved me reading the owners manual to find out how everything worked. Thank you.

    I bought a 2009 ls460 awd around 5 months ago and I love it so far. Got it for 10,000 flat and it has 134,000 miles. Had to replace the control arms and actually the front axle, as a rubber piece broke and it was leaking grease. Was a 500 dollar fix and drives like new again. I have the ML system and so far so good, I'm an audiophile and I LOVE it. It really is an incredible car, plenty of power with being the most comfortable car I've ever driven.

    I JUST bought this exact model and year after my 2001 ford ranger xl got t-boned and totaled. this car is a great pick me up after losing an old friend i put nearly 100k miles into, adapting to such a modern car with electronics everywhere when what i was used too had next to none is surreal, gone are the days i have to crank the window with a lever. the v8 and the power that comes with it is exhilarating. considering my old truck had even worse mileage with less the half the horsepower at around 130hp of this Lexus's 380hp is mind-blowing. Great rundown on features in this video, thanks for familiarizing me with my new best friend.(car) :D

      @@InfoLeap Had to replace the brake actuator and pump...pads...rotors. But its fully loaded, parks itself, looks great, and doesnt have crazy miles on it to be an 08. Even after investing 2100, in getting it fixed, its still great value. I love it. Understand that it was my experience, and I knew enough about the car to know that I may have to fix a few things. But its something I always wanted. I only paid 7500 for the car. Its fast as hell, gets great highway mileage, and rides great. I get complements and feel like a complete baller every time im in traffic. It parks itself, which is a flex of all flexes, and it has the 19 speaker mark levinson in it. Im spoiled by it. What more could I say. The equivalent goes for 15 or 16k with more mileage than mine. i have 149k, which isnt bad for an 08. No electrical problems, everything works...I could go on and on. If i ever get another car, its going to be the 2014 ls460 f sport. If you can get one for less than 10k, get it. Brake actuator problem? so what. just get it fixed. I ordered all new parts from a lexus parts warehouse, where you can buy brand new OEM parts without breaking the bank.. Had I not upgraded my pads and rotors, I would have been out about 1200-1500 in parts. And you dont need to have a dealer reprogram it. I took it to a certified mechanic and he had everything done the same day. Ever since, havent had a single problem. It feels like it will just run and run hard forever. Best money I have ever spent. Its a lot of car. I cant think of a single car that I would want more.

    I watched this vehicle review several times, and enjoyed it. You were very detailed. I have a 2008 LS460 (Starfire Pearl) and it is actually my 5th Lexus (4th LS). You keep referencing your review covers a 2008 LS460 base model. Our vehicles are equipped EXACTLY the same, and it is not a base model vehicle. It's actually the mid-level package (and I have my original sticker) for it's year. Your vehicle, like mine, started at $62,900 - add the Comfort Package $1.290 - add the Navigation System $3,115 - add Intuitive Parking Assist $500 - add One Touch Open/Close Power Trunk &Door Closers $395 - add Preferred Accessory Package $240 for a Subtotal of $68,440, plus Delivery/Processing of $825 for a grand total of $69,265. I have a friend with the base model, same year. He has his original sticker and has absolutely no options on his vehicle. Just wanted to let you know, your review is not on a base model car.

    This is a killer review. I just found one of these that I’m going to look at, it’s an 07 but same features. Out if curiosity the only downsides I could really find were alleged melting dashes and side paneling. Have you had anything remotely like this or had the sun shield been with to keep the melting away. My guess is someone left a black one outside in Arizona. And at 140 degrees or something obnoxious like that plastic can melt. Top notch thank you!!

      On my LS460(2016) the headrest adjustment button is the rear most on the side of the seat. I think it as also the lumbar support button. Back and forth for lumbar, up and down for the headrest.

      @@MeynMotorGroup I used to own a GS300, an 01 model which I sold too my son, now I took good care of it my son not so much, doesn't change the oil in a timely manner, the water pump went out and he ran it home about 4 blks away and it overheated but no damage he was lucky, long story short he brought to some jack leg mechanic who busted his radiator when his wrench slipped and that do said going teeth missing on the crank shaft housing(they probably screwed that up too) so he changed those parts and put a new timing belt but the jack leg lost the lower timing belt cover, got one on back order, nite he owes me 1500$ cause I paid for his repairs but I may never see my money, I wish I'd never did it to him, it has 255k miles and it still runs fine, the oil pumps 2 brass and rubber seals are leaking(at least that's what it local shop foreman told me) the J2Z engines are known to have that problem according to the shop foreman, myself I think it's there front main seal as the front of the engine is full of oil, all in all imo the GS or any Lexus make great long milage automobiles, I drive an 07 Tacoma with 172k mileage that I plan to roll until it can't anymore.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  4 года назад +6

      Hey thanks so much for that my friend I am truly humbled by that. So the thing with Chicago is rust so you gotta make sure of that. You need a warranty as the brake actuator alone will cost $3,000. There is not a lot of mechanical grip with this car so it would struggle in snow even with snow tires although I do think they made a awd version so that would help. These are just some of the things to look for

      Don't be afraid to buy an older LS430 or LS460. I have a 2001 430 that I bought new. Now 130,000 miles and always garaged. It is truly like new and if you bought it you would have a wonderful car. No troubles all of those years. My other car is a 2008 LS460 that has 115,000 and it is a two owner car. They both are like new. My after dealer Lexus shop owner drives an even older 400,000 mile Lexus. I asked "when did you overhaul the engine " and he said never, just take care of it.

    One thing that sticks out to me is when automotive manufacturers do the First for things, it usually isn't the greatest. So people wait for the next gen. But Toyota figured something out because these have a lot of first. However, will still last 400k miles.

    Been looking more into these LS460s as a daily. I'm debating between 430 or 460. My fiance has an 05 430 UL and I absolutely love it, but the updating styling (specifically inside) of the 460 just seems a little more exciting to me. The only thing I really haven't found a concrete answer on is if the windows are dual paned glass like the 430? That's probably my favorite feature of the 430 and is one of the few things keeping me on the fence. I'm obsessed with how quiet the dual paned glass is on the 430.

    I want a LS 460 but fear that engine fix for the two timing chains or the time chain guides which can be 2 - 3K dollars to fix... the breaks also place fear in me to because they did not use a standard system it cost more to fix their propitiatory system for the LS 460... I want the Mark Livingston sound system but may have to go after market on the amp if not buying another Mark version for 1 - 2K dollars... LOL... these are just a few things that they made which make the car a expensive car to own if said part breaks and also not that many people have them so parts are not as cheap as the Toyota's abundance of purchased vehicles and parts available to fix them..
