Definitely not a dog mate. Sure I saw stripes. Must have been a thylacine.
exactly what i was thinking.
Its a greyhound
On second thought it looks mixed so its possibly a lurcher
Thylahound of the Baskervilles.
There are wolves in Holland...
Cookie ticks the lesser spotted Grayhound off his list Ha Ha
imagine how cold it gets there of a night with all that ice around.. those poor dogs have no fat n them and short fur..... hope someone rescues them.
jeees! it's like you saw freakin' bigfoot or something. just a dog my friend.
I say the lurchers have been out hunting with lampers, they often run with a slip collar to help the breathing while running and got lost in the dark by the owners in the surrounding fields 👍
Yeah or they been corsing rabbits and hares during the day
Cookie is becoming Karl Pilkington - "it's weird, innit?"
i feel so sorry about those dogs😢
horrible to be left alone ...
please keep us updated about it
I found a stray and took it in but it had behavioural problems - until his knackers were removed. It's cheaper to pay for that than other people's vet's bills.
Neil waters is going to be livid that you got such good footage of a thylacine runnin through the woods
Congratulations everyone, we’ve done it.
Will there be a update video on the dogs?
I can remember seeing red squirrels in Sussex near Tunbrige Wells circa 1967-8 & once saw a snowy owl, also in the Ashdown Forest.
Yeah man, i was gonna say that dog was probably out on its own after getting out from it’s home. They can be out for days sometimes on their own. But it looks like you found the answer.
Long Tailed Tits are great btw. Little pink fluff-balls on a stick is their scientific name.
here in Australia we get heaps of wild dogs. farmers dogs get out and breed and boom heaps.
I left out a segment of this video where I spoke about dogs and could they be being mistaken for Thylacine - I’ll knock out a video soon talking about it more I reckon, I think there’s something to be said about it
That poor greyhound was obviously starving. Shoulda tried to help maybe?
Someone call Niel Waters Tazzy Tiger for sure
Also that's not how owls poop they have pellets they look like free little turds with all the bones and stuff inside Dry Gray pretty big definitely Not like white regular bird poop
'Twit' = lady owl & 'Twoo' = gentleman owl - is that correct?
Come Nottingham a place called Attenborough gravel u will love it there
That's some poachers lurcher
You've never seen a dog before Cookie?
Lurcher (Poachers Dog).
That wasn't a dog it was a big cat!
😂😂
hilarious
Some travelers must have lost a dag...😂
Do you like dags 👍
Strangely the most common place I’ve seen owls is near busy roads and motorways the places I would have thought they would have avoided the most
You're not used to stray dogs?? Clearly you've never been to Houston, TX lol
Love your videos Cookie, keep it up!!
i find it easier to find tawnys about an hour before it gets dark, all the small birds get alarmed when one is around, mostly blackbirds. they are a great giveaway for an owl,
A good day birding in anyone's books! Nuthatch is one of my favourite birds, I love their calls too. There's always another day/night for an owl. Good effort though. As for the dogs, weird, similar looking type and owner and collarless. If they are male and female and neither been 'done', there could soon be a feral population. And you have the exclusive footage of how it all began!
Where was this filmed cookie? There were 2 greyhounds that went missing in the woods near me a while back
Crazy thing with the dogs, but at least you got an answer, tawny owls are beautiful, I am in luck, since I work in a zoo, where we got some and one day a visitor gave me a tip, where to find one and I did, which was awesome. Hopefully you'll find one soon. (Maybe you can ask people in a zoo, who own some or the community or family/friends/colleages, if they know any wild populations/individual locations.)
Beautiful Red Kite footage, in the village I grew up in, they are quite abundant and I think we got like 50% of the global population in germany, so I always see two or three, when I drive home.
Any tips in what habitats and daytimes, I can increase my chances for Long-tailed Tits, cuz I only ever see them, when I dont have a camera :D
I would have been more happy seing the treecreeper not often you get to see those! Rather than the tawny even though they are super cute ! Those dogs are lurcher had one as child as a pet they are great hunting dogs was probably an owner somewhere nearby great video again cookie !
Ring the rspca tell them where you was and they send some inspectors to catch him or her
Well done on filming the Treecreeper. Not an easy bird to spot and get good footage of. I liked the Nuthatch too.
I think the easiest way to film owls is after you hear them and with night vision
Tawny Owls will roost near or amongst cover, so look at conifers, ivy covered trunks, holly trees and of course hollow in trees. Ryton Woods close to where you was has them on the paths on the outskirts of the wood, especially Ryton police college side.
I'll head back there to have a look, thanks mate
beautiful greyhound, might have been abandonded, or going someplace.
I’ll post an update in the next video 🙂
@@WildlifeWithCookie I hope so, looks like 2 abandoned greyhounds, poor babies, if you see this cookie, might i suggest you carry a rescue bag with you, usually it has a can of cat food, rope/leashes and collars, different sizes, dog bones, and dry cat food. It all fits in a small belly bag, I keep one with me on all hikes, and have rescued quite a few dogs, lol. most memorable was a pair of bloodhounds that went 200 miles from home. never know when it comes in handy, I also wear hiking gloves, but if you don't use hiking gloves you might want to add some heavy leather work gloves to your kit.
I would have been happier seeing the red kite than i would have been seeing a tawny owl.
For real?! I see Kites regularly, have one flying over my house occasionally now too, they’re wicked birds tho ey, haven’t seen a Tawny in ages though
@@WildlifeWithCookie I live in Scotland. I get tawny owls in my back garden almost every night. I can spot lamp them from my upstairs back window. I can get them to call back to recorded tawny calls I play to them.they are super cool.
I have never seen a red kite in my whole life.I would love to see one. They aren’t anywhere near as common here as they are down south.
Great video as always cookie hopefully someone catches that dog soon it must struggle with that short hair on these cold nights. Also if you want to see owls have a look in more open areas near woodland as they are doing their pair bonding displays this time of the year right around when it's getting dark
