I fell in love the white tailed sea eagle at an exhibition of birds of prey. His wing touched my head as he flew over us. A couple of years later, they started reintroducing them here in Ireland. It's wonderful to see them growing up and having babies in the wild. A triumph for conservation. Yay!😃
Fun fact for you my uncle was involved in the reintroduction of sea eagles back into Scotland.
Another very very cool fairly large bird of prey that has made a come back in the UK recently is the Osprey. Back in the 70’s and 80’s they were on the verge of extinction in the UK with only one known breeding pair on a loch in Scotland. Nowadays while still not considered common they’re numbers have gradually risen from 1or 2 pairs to 250/300 pairs in the UK. Most of those breeding pairs are in Scotland but there are some south of the border in Rutland and the surrounding areas. I have heard there are even some in Wales which is great news. You should look into doing a video on those Cookie.
Also another very rare UK bird i would love to see you do a video on is the bittern.a very cool but very cryptic species which makes getting footage of them extremely difficult.
Great vidio!! First pair was 100% buzzards. You could tell from the fingers on wings. Buzzards only show 5 fingers and are clearly different to the way eagles fingers are on the wings.
Somone mentioned osprey .. I was once in a salmon trout fishery when an osprey swooped down and took off with a massive salmon trout. it was like watching a an A380 trying to take off!! Most amazing site.
I was in skye last week and only saw buzzards but we did see some massive birds of prey in the sky but can't confirm there breed. Easily could have been eagles but hard to say.

Yes those first two raptors were buzzards but that footage of the first sea eagle put a big grin on my face and tingles down my spine! Nice one again, both of you! Otter and dolphin too. Brilliant!

I was lucky enough to see one locally to me, I think 4 youngsters were released on the isle of white 2 years ago. With them being young birds they just wandered the Uk so at one point we’re close to mine where I saw one😄
That video with the Red Kite was taken down the south of England so could be one you saw too? Stephen from the Beaver video had a video on his phone of a White Tail in Devon presumably from the Isle Of Wight

one of these sea eagles landed in my town when they got released its on youtube (sea eagle in methil) have a look at the size of it the people in town went mental for it lol
6:35 That would be a Honey Buzzard , which are still rare and are much larger than Common Buzzards

We had a harrier one year visit our farm in bucks, regularly get goshawks and other random visitors passing thru! Had a white and black sparrowhawk one year but the peregrine had him/her !

I never knew we had eagles untill I saw 2 White tales eagles flying together yesterday in Wolverton (near Milton Keynes) and saw another today flying above London highgate Absolute madness

I saw 2 eagles near lockerbie about 8 yr ago one in flight and the other stood below next to a flooded field massive far bigger than any kite or buzzard
We were on a whale safari in tromsø, Norway and then the ‘animal spotted’ alarm went off and a voice said “we have a white tailed eagle flying over our boat right now” and none of the people on the boat even got up just because it wasn’t a whale! I mean they are crazy but we did see orcas and humpbacks but white tailed eagles are insanely big and we are over in Orkney next month and travelling to hoy to see them again and maybe even a chick!
My most memorable encounter with a White Tailed Eagle was on the Mecklenbergersee, a large lake in Northern Germany, when one flew about twenty feet above the rowing boat my friend and I were sharing out in the middle of the lake. By the way, just to avoid any confusion with those not familiar with the species, only the adults have the characteristic white tails. Young birds under three years of age have a brown tail. Look for the broader wings and wedge shaped tail to distinguish from Golden Eagles.

Im old enough to remember Goldie the Golden Eagle escaping from London Zoo. Is the Sea Eagle or as i know it the Osprey larger than the Golden Eagle??
Spent a lot of time on mull and skye kayak fishing over the years, definitely seen more golden and sea eagles on skye even seen both in the air at the same time! Even though these birds are rare every time I've visited both Isles ive seen sea eagles with even looking for them.

It's a shame about the golden Eagles in the lake district,think the last one died out in haweswater q feew years ago, hope they make a comeback,depresses me stuff like that.

I saw a bird much like this once. way bigger than a hawk, beautiful speckled light-coloured breast area (not sure if it was a sea eagle, I think I found other similar looking species when I looked it up). the bird was sitting right outside my highschool classroom, less than 10m away. I pointed it out to the class since it was fucking amazing, I normally only see buzzards here. I swear, NOBODY CARED! that bird got less attention than a damn squirrel! it sat there for 20 minutes and nobody else paid any attention to it! 😐

Only searched for sea eagles Scotland because the times has a story out today online but you have to pay or be a subscriber to read it about they want a Cull on these Eagles somewhere in Scotland because they're causing carnage apparently with the coastal farmers livestock,lambs in particular.I don't know the facts but to be calling for a Cull it must be serious.🤔

If it hadn't been exterminated in the UK, it wouldn't be a rare bird. If you as a human think that you have to find them and observe them, so disturb them, they will disappear again. for them human is their greatest enemy.
