Thanks for your help. Successfully installed in 2011 Sequoia SR5 (pre-wired). I had trouble finding the manufacturer trailer brake connector. It was hidden on the top of a series of taped wires to the upper left branch across from the brake pedal as described. It was well hidden. I carefully plied the tape and wires away to expose it and bring it down a hair sufficient to connect. One word of warning to any who attempt to install: I wish I would have installed the red computer bit opposite shown as it caused a bit of push back going the direction shown in the video, which made reinstalling the plastic cover rather tight and not exactly right, but it still works. It also would have proven more natural for the cabling, too, if done so. I thought I'd need to drill a couple of holes in the lower dash to zip tie the Ethernet cable, but it turned out not so. There's a line or gap in the plastic right at the bottom of the srs airbag panel that allowed for me to fasten them there (I can't imagine it would compromise the airbag as that panel is designed to give on deployment).
Thanks for sharing the details of your install, I'm sure our future viewers will find them helpful! www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Brake-Controller/Redarc/RED24FR.html
Thanks so much for this excellent tutorial! I was able to install a Liberty model in my 2015 Sequoia (mostly) no problem. Getting that panel back on has been impossible, so I see why you skipped that part!😂
@@dubiza I’ve done it about 20x since I was having trouble getting it to work. Lifting the plastic runner at the bottom out the way before sliding the panel back helps a lot
Just installed this on my 2011 Sequoia Platinum. Instructions indicated I needed to install a fuse or circuit breaker for this. Did you guys need to using the Toyota harness?
If you're using the factory harness and the fuse for the brake controller is missing, you'll need to install it so you can get power to the controller. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Brake-Controller/Redarc/RED24FR.html
Trying to install my system on my 2017 Sequoia with a factory tow package and the plug visible at the beginning of your video where you attach everything isn't hanging like yours. Everything is taped up. :( hoping I can sort this out as I have all the components ready to go.
The plug is most likely under that tape. Gently remove it from the harness, you should be able to find it then. If not, it'll be behind the kick panel to the left of the emergency brake pedal. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Brake-Controller/Redarc/RED24FR.html
I have no trailer attached. When I press the button, it lights up blue for about a second and then fades away. The only time the blue light comes on is when I press the button. Does this all sound normal?
Yes. Once u hook up trailer it should start flashing blue/green. More green then blue at first then as it start learning it becomes more blue then green. When it goes solid blue means it’s done

I’m dealing wit the same thing right now 😅. Soo much going on inside that panel
That kick panel is impossible to put back on. Any tips @etrailer?

Did a great job… Installing mine just like they did!
