This is enough car for like 99% of people. Efficient, decently quick, spacious hatchback, awd, reliable, good resale, sleek looking for what it is. Toyota oughta sell a ton of these.
@@dyinglee7074 it’s all relative. Really depends what you drove previously. If you had a 10+ year old Toyota sedan with 200k+ miles that you’re replacing (as Toyota buyers commonly do), the new Prius will drive like a rolls royce in comparison…
To be fair, it's a great car. There's just other options that are cheaper and quite competitive. I guess the main selling point is the hatchback style?
@@mr1337R3S lol horsepower creep is hilarious, this prius has the same 0-60 as a $65,000 MSRP 2001 Audi A6 4.2 (to pick a random example of a V8 powered luxury cruiser).
@@mr1337R3S naw people hold me up while driving a 155hp 2015 mazda3 enough people drive slow regardless of the power their car has to hold up traffic
Much better looking with double the horsepower as compared to my 2013 Prius three that’s still kicking. The real question is, are these just as bulletproof ?
42 MPG is the average that I typically get in my RAV4 hybrid XSE. So yes, you are definitely driving the Prius incorrectly. You do not always have to floor the gas, you know. It is not an on-off switch.
Seems like this gen prius is weird. Plenty of reviewers and drivers in forums get low 40s in mpgs, but also plenty reporting great numbers. Feels like something is tuned incorrectly here cause the camry hasn't been this inconsistent.
The trouble with this car is that it’s not much cheaper, not much faster and not much more economical than the Rav4 hybrid and I would say that it’s less all of those than the CorollaCross hybrid, and both of the CUVs are MUCH more practical to own.
I worked at Firehouse for like 3 years. It was good when I made my own subs but sucks when someone else makes them. Around here, they run skeleton crews with inexperienced people so it takes too long and they're also greasy and mediocre.
For the 4 people that want to buy that new overpriced VW EV Bus for 70k...Get this fully loaded prius for 40k and use the leftover for a very nice European vacation.

@ camry’s pretty long, good if you need a lot of rear legroom, but if not, the prius has a larger more practical cargo area.
b-b-but I NEED a huge suv for my family of 3 or else I wont be seen as cool
@@jakes5530 The noise level is high while driving on the highway, indicating poor insulation, yet the price is comparable to that of a Camry.

@@rosestrohm7986 nothing wrong with big SUVs, I love them. But as far as wants vs. needs, this should really do the trick for the majority of people.

no wonder we all have back issues in our 20s from them damn school chairs
Can't wait to sit in the back of those in a decade as an uber, drunk out of my mind discussing politics with the driver

Imao For hybrids Toyotas and maybe hondas are the only options worth a damn
its a prius what do you expect? its not supposed to be cool and flashy its supposed to help you move around the world
lol i couldn't imagine being unhappy with the prius engine. its an easy first car choice for anyone. Almost 200hp is peppy.
The word "peppy" was created with rocket science by CarAndDriver to try and make econo shit boxes sound quick

hey, at least its still got a petrol engine! (and it's actually kinda quick)
A Toyota that sound like it has bass... wow I was expecting tiny sound... LOL
Firehouse above Jersey Mike's. And anyone above Jimmy John's, including Subway.
I agree with your fast subs list. I do like the new Prius, I wonder if a GR Corolla's engine would fit just for fun
Why? The GR Corolla is already automatic and AWD and just as ugly. Makes no sense
Perfect timing. I just made an appointment to test drive one of these today. 😂
I put Jersey Mike's at the top of my list of chain sub shops as well

Dream track car.
Love this prius. Board and Brew is a local San Diego sub chain that's just incredible. Firehouse is great, I need to try Jersey Mike's tho
I'm just amazed it's no longer ugly as sin in the "look at me!!! I drive a hybrid!!!!" way
Still ugly inside and out. Look at that horrible steering wheel

never comment this again

could at least add a couple inches to rear passenger height
I don't hate it.. which is something, for being a Prius
Yup, to me the older Prius looked like a Corolla left in a microwave too long..
If i could afford one id have one
Gross
sounds like a clogged vacuum
"28 Grand" in america.... in Canada... 40 Grand.... AWD ...
It's not so much the engine sound it's that god awful CVT hang. Sounds like driving with a slipping clutch.
The "hang" is to keep the engine in it's optimal efficiency.
Saves gas and sounds like s*it..
It has an eCVT which doesn't have a belt and pulley. The electric motor modulates the gear ratio in a modified planetary gear setup.

No hood struts on a $39,938 car? That's pathetic. 🙄
I guess it's a weight savings thing.. And just think!! you wont have to replace struts when the eventually die..!!
@hctim96 Struts are cheap and light. Weight savings would be negligible. 🙄
its stupid to design a useless rear window and make the mirror camera an option.
The sound of Prius’s 2.0L engine sounds pretty awful. It reminds me of Toyota Aqua-a hybrid car with noises combo from engine, motor, chassis….
Can hybrids be cool?
90% of supercars are hybrids now so you tell me…
F1 cars are hybrids, sooooooooo

Yeah, I don’t like the way it looks.
