    Does the high pressure fuel fitting have a small aluminum washer that sits on top of it, between it and the female part of the fuel pump that it screws into?

      @@bike23august I have a 2007 A4 2.0T, and it's a "later" model with no banjo bolt on the HPFP. I have this mysterious small aluminum washer that fell out from somewhere while working on it. I've narrowed it down to falling out the pump after I took the high pressure fuel fitting off. The one that I used a 17mm stubby wrench to loosen. On that fitting, there's a notch that this washer fits perfectly in. It fits perfectly in the female part of the pump that the high pressure fuel fitting screws into. The banjo bolt models like 2005, 2006, and 2006.5 I think, have the banjo bolt on the low pressure fuel line fitting right? I swear, there was a washer in my high pressure female area on the pump. When I was trying to take off the hose clamp on the low pressure side, something fell, hit my fingers while in there, and I heard it fall to a lower platform on the rear engine. I went down there with a camera scope, and found this small washer. I made a reddit post about it on r/Audi. 1000 views and nobody knows nothing about it.

      @@Goodbye_Megaton it normally sits between the pump and the brass fitting, normally you don't remove that brass fitting when removing the pump. Hope it helps

    • @Goodbye_Megaton
      @Goodbye_Megaton Месяц назад +1

      @@bike23august So there is an aluminum washer there. It's not on any Audi schematic that I can find for the fuel pump and I don't understand why. The fitting is easily removed, whether one would have good reason to or not. On FCP Euro, they sell the HPFP rebuilt kit essentially, and it has the brass fitting, but no washer? So strange. Yeah I think I ended up removing that high pressure fuel fitting when I didn't have to for some reason. Few minutes later while working on the low pressure side, it fell out. Your insight does help. Thanks for getting back to me and helping me figure it out. I will put the washer back between the pump and high pressure brass fitting and put it all back together. Thanks a lot man.

    Legend...Just followed your video on this and did my first ever cam follower replacement. Everything went as well as yours until it was time to fit the fuel pump back in and for some reason the spring just made it so had to get it back on even though everything was seated correctly In the end I sorted it but was really strange ..but your video was top notch keep them coming as I am following your every move :)

    3x80mm M6 threaded rods / stud bolts and 3 M6 nylon self locking nuts will save your cylinder head from too many changes, it's a known mod.
    You may need to oil a bit that new cam follower on the outside before putting it in. There's also an ring seal on that pump (blue) that is at least lubricated if not also changed every time.
    What's the compression on that 200k miles (???) engine?

    • @bike23august
      @bike23august  2 года назад +1

      The studs and lockong nuts don't work on the a4, i tried and it's not practical for me. The blue o ring was lubed and changed already, since i check the follower at 3k miles i don't change it anymore and i never had a leak. And the cam follower was oiled everywhere.
      And my car has 13 bar across all 4 cyl

    • @bike23august
      @bike23august  2 года назад +1

      The engine is 200k kms not miles. The car is also k04 converted with full bolt ons

      @@bike23august Great info. I see the dashboard in Imperial so I assumed miles. I have the F23L which has a bigger compressor than K04 but kept the stock injectors and upgraded the fuel return valve. Mileage is 135k km, seeing yours gives me hope that mine will last some time.

      @bike23august  2 года назад

      You should upgrade injectors to s3 8p and the hpfp internals. The stock k03 injectors will max at 320 with a hpfp upgrade but thats not very safe for long... yeah the k04 on these cars is a must to be honest, feels like a sportier car now like it should have been from factory.. the k03 is fun but it lacks the torque
